Lawmakers, PDEA denounce allegations of former PDEA agent vs. PBBM

00:05That's why lawmakers and even PIDEA itself are crying foul over a testimony of a former agent

00:11against no less than the president at a house hearing even though the said personality has

00:22Several congressmen denounced the allegations of a former PIDEA agent implicating President

00:27Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. to illegal drugs. Last Tuesday, the issue was brought up in a

00:33Senate hearing by Jonathan Morales, a former government employee. For his part, House Committee

00:38on Dangerous Drugs Chair Robert A. Barbers questioned the credibility and the background

00:43of Morales. He said, based on the reports he gathered, Morales was dismissed from police

00:48service and he tried to conceal this vital detail when he applied for work with the PIDEA.

00:54When he was finally working for the PIDEA, he found himself involved in other illegal activities.

01:00Because of this, Barbers also wondered why Morales was even allowed to testify

01:04in the Senate hearing. For other lawmakers, this may also just a part of a larger effort

01:10to discredit and destabilize the current administration.

01:25For its part, PIDEA has denied the allegations against the president. That's why lawmakers

01:49reminded the public to be mindful of what they read, especially online.

01:54The agency itself is saying that this is not true. Why would we trust people who used to have

02:01a history, a career? Why would we trust people like that? For me, it's easy to distinguish

02:11who is telling the truth and who is telling lies.
