Meet a young pupil who has just won an art award at her school with a lovely piece of work, inspired by artist: Romero Britto. The school is Longlands Primary School in Market Drayton.

00:21So this is for your fantastic artwork.
00:24So I believe you've been inspired by a famous artist, a well known artist.

00:33We did a school competition and Esther's come out on top.
00:37Looks fantastic doesn't it?
00:39Yeah, very good, very vibrant.
00:41So you're Esther's teacher?
00:42I am yes.
00:43So is she kind of quite a colourful, creative person generally in life?
00:46She is yeah, she loves her colours and she's done a very very good job here I think.
00:50Well I've seen your hand, you've been practising your artwork on your hand haven't you.
00:54So where do you come up with your idea from then, have you got some pet fish at home have you?
00:58No.
00:59No?
01:00I think it was Miss Holden in class, she came up with the idea with the fish.
01:04We could either do a flamingo or a fish.
01:06Yeah, they were choosing to do a flamingo or a fish and Esther chose the fish.
01:10Well I was asking you, what would you like to do for a job then when you're older?
01:14An interior designer.
01:16Yeah, something nice and creative.
01:18And your parents, are they creative, do they draw, do they paint?
01:23Is that both?
01:24Yeah.
01:25Do they?
01:26Yeah?
01:27So it's something in the blood.
01:28So how does it feel to kind of win this award?
01:32When you finish your artwork did you think, you know what, this is it, this is a good one this is?
01:37Yeah definitely.
01:38Yeah you felt confident?
01:40Kind of.
01:41So how does it feel to get the award then Esther and what do you think of it?
01:45It's quite beautiful isn't it?
01:47Definitely not going to keep the ice down and get me a bite.
01:52But yeah, you feel pleased, very proud?
01:55Mm-hmm.

01:57What's your next art project? You said you like to design your bedroom don't you?
02:00Yeah.
02:01So what theme is that then? Is it crazy colourful like this?
02:04Yes.
