Transcript
00:00 So I'm Angus, I'm the keyboard player and I sort of deal with the band bookings and all that sort of stuff as well.
00:06 I'm Callum, I'm the lead singer.
00:08 I'm Mark, I'm the bassist.
00:10 It's been great, yeah, what a buzz from the second stage. It was just, yeah, it was amazing.
00:21 The crowd seemed to be really enjoying it and it was great to see everyone singing along.
00:26 The event in general has been great. It's a great thing for Elgin, it's a great thing for Moray and wider afield.
00:33 We've seen people from all over coming in, so it's been great, it's been really good.
00:37 Yeah, excellent set up and a good range of bands as well.
00:41 Plus it's good to see the local bands getting a chance amongst these other international artists.
00:47 Well I think we find ourselves in a bit of a weird predicament because we're a local band but we don't write our own music.
00:53 So we obviously do covers, we do weddings, functions and that sort of stuff.
00:57 For us it just gives us a chance to do something a wee bit different, a bit more, let our hair down, a bit more fun.
01:04 Yeah, and showcase ourselves in the best light as well.
01:07 Yeah, it's a different environment to our normal, just the massive size of the audience.
01:14 It's just a very different experience to play in front of a crowd that size compared to what we're usually doing.
01:20 So it's a great opportunity that we've had.
01:22 It's nice also getting to, someone's doing the sounds, someone's doing the lights.
01:25 Whereas normally if we're playing a wedding or something we're doing that all ourselves.
01:29 You bump into folk in the community, like if I'm at the post office or something, they'll be like,
01:34 "Oh, you were in Macda, you were at the Udemyc Murray" and it's great to get that recognition as well.
01:38 You have a lot of friends and family in the crowd watching you.
01:41 Yeah, quite a lot today.
01:44 And folk outside. My dad texted me, he was outside the perimeter, he said a great set.
01:50 So, could obviously be heard across Eldon.
01:53 It's really nice to get the experience to play on a big stage as well.
01:56 Like, something I never really thought I would do when I was younger.
02:00 And like for us, we quite often have to pay to go to wedding fairs or whatever.
02:05 So it's a great opportunity for us to perform for free for something like this.
02:09 And it actually allows us to play stuff we don't maybe play other gigs that we're doing.
02:15 Because we've got to do it for a specific audience, the bigger audience.
02:19 So we choose the songs which are going to hopefully go down as good as possible.
02:24 And that's again a different kind of side of what we do.
02:28 And for us getting to chat to international artists from all over the world as well backstage,
02:33 it's like a professional learning thing for us as well. It's great.
02:37 Networking.
02:38 Networking, yeah.
02:39 Are you going to come back in 2025?
02:43 Absolutely, yeah.
02:44 We'll be back if we're invited for sure.
