Families of Israelis being held hostage in Gaza questioned the timing of Israel's military operation in Rafah as they urged the Israeli government to "bring them back and save their lives", during a protest on Tuesday (May 7).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the latest truce proposal from Hamas was unacceptable, adding that military pressure remains necessary to return hostages held in Gaza.

00:43Stop everything. Accept this deal and bring our loved ones back home.
00:49This could be very well the last opportunity to rescue any living hostage.
00:54Anyone who sabotages the deal, cooperates with saboteurs or remains silent,
01:00allowing the depravity and abandonment of the hostages to continue,
01:06will have their blood on their hands.
