00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:04 Hey, it's People in 10.
00:05 The first Monday in May is always one for the books.
00:08 Some of our favorite stars shined at the Met Gala
00:11 and looks inspired by this year's theme,
00:13 the Garden of Time.
00:14 Now, there were, of course, literal flowers
00:16 and jaw-dropping drama.
00:18 Get it, Cardi.
00:19 Some had us doing double takes and wowed with bold accessories.
00:23 Now, the guys brought their A-game, too.
00:26 We didn't forget about you.
00:27 And then there was Zendaya.
00:29 As always, we got to talk about Z.
00:31 She walked the carpet in one look,
00:33 then came back to do it again in a second one.
00:35 Just perfection.
00:38 One person who wasn't at the Met Gala this year,
00:40 Katy Perry, which you could have fooled us.
00:42 So Katy had to work, which is why
00:44 she couldn't make the event.
00:45 But her mom saw a photo of her at the gala
00:48 and thought she did.
00:49 She even texted her about it, to which
00:51 Katy replied, the A I got you.
00:53 Dang.
00:54 I mean, this is pretty convincing.
00:56 But maybe next year she'll be there for real,
00:58 serving up more epic looks, literally.
01:02 Coleman Domingo made the most of his very first Met Gala
01:05 experience and paid tribute to some serious legends
01:08 in the suit-cape combo, which was clearly
01:11 a nod to two stylish guys who came before him.
01:14 So Chadwick Boseman wore a white cape Versace suit in 2018.
01:18 Rest in peace, Black Panther.
01:19 But that wasn't all.
01:20 With his look, Coleman also honored the late Andre
01:23 Leon Talley.
01:24 A cape was his signature at the many Met Galas he attended.
01:28 Coleman confirmed on the red carpet
01:30 that he really wanted to honor them.
01:31 And actually, he wants everything
01:33 he does to be about more than just him.
01:35 Amen to that.
01:38 He may be the GOAT, but that doesn't mean Tom Brady can't
01:41 also be the butt of a joke.
01:42 You have seven rings.
01:44 Well, eight now that Giselle gave hers back, but--
01:48 OK, that was funny.
01:50 But not everyone thought so.
01:51 So let's call Alex and find out why.
01:55 Hey, Mako, what's going on?
01:57 Hey, Alex.
01:58 OK, so there were some epic laughs
01:59 at Tom's roast this week.
02:01 Why is there drama, though?
02:02 So while Tom was a pretty good sport for most of the show,
02:05 sources tell us that his ex-wife, Giselle Bündchen,
02:08 isn't too happy.
02:09 If you'll remember, the pair famously
02:10 divorced in October of 2022.
02:12 And while Giselle is dating somebody new,
02:14 that doesn't mean she wasn't deeply disappointed
02:16 by what she feels was a disrespectful portrayal
02:18 of her family during this roast.
02:20 Because there were jokes about her marriage,
02:22 even her current boyfriend was mentioned.
02:24 But wasn't that it?
02:25 So yes and no.
02:27 Like most moms, right, she just wants to protect her kids.
02:29 And she's really upset by how the jokes affected them.
02:32 She feels like what was broadcasted
02:33 was irresponsible content.
02:35 And the kids are still fairly young, you know?
02:37 She shares 10-year-old daughter Vivian and 13-year-old son Ben
02:40 with Tom.
02:40 And then Tom also shares his oldest son Jack
02:42 with Bridget Moynihan, which is another prior relationship
02:45 that he was roasted over.
02:46 What's interesting, though, is that all of this blowback
02:49 is still happening after Nikki Glaser told Howard Stern
02:52 that they had actually made a point to cut jokes
02:54 about the kids.
02:55 Mm, yeah, because kids should be off limits.
02:57 And I'll tell you what, that aside, the entire roast
03:00 was hilarious.
03:01 Three hours of just like laughing out loud, right?
03:04 Everybody brought their A-game, you know?
03:06 They sure did.
03:06 Well, thank you so much, Alex.
03:08 I'll talk to you later.
03:09 Sounds good.
03:09 Talk to you later.
03:10 Bye.
03:12 It's officially been a year since the big coronation, which
03:15 we all thought went off without a hitch.
03:17 But it turns out there was a whole lot
03:19 of awkward behind the scenes.
03:20 This guy's got the scoop in his book.
03:22 He says Prince William and Princess Kate
03:24 were running late with their kids that day.
03:26 We're only talking like a minute and a half.
03:28 Understandable.
03:29 But King Charles and Queen Camilla
03:30 ended up arriving eight minutes early.
03:33 Now you see the problem, right?
03:35 William and Kate were supposed to go in first,
03:37 and the king last.
03:38 But he was already there, and he couldn't just
03:40 wait in his carriage.
03:41 So William and his fam had to bring up the rear instead.
03:44 And get this, Charles was reportedly
03:46 caught on camera complaining about the whole thing.
03:49 A lip reader claimed he said, in part,
03:51 "There's always something.
03:52 This is boring."
03:54 Yikes.
03:55 We are one week away from the new season of "Bridgerton,"
03:58 and we're getting a sneak peek from the stars themselves.
04:01 First, what can we expect?
04:03 Nicola Coughlin, our girl Penelope,
04:05 says season one was about passion.
04:07 I know that's right.
04:08 And season two was about longing.
04:10 Mm.
04:11 So now season three, that's about romance.
04:14 And Luke Newton, our Colin, says they jump right into their
04:17 issues from last season.
04:18 No time to waste, people.
04:20 Now on to some other housekeeping.
04:22 No, we won't see Simon and Daphne this season.
04:25 But yes, Kate and Anthony will make an appearance.
04:28 Nicola says we'll see little shards of light
04:30 between her character and her former bestie Eloise.
04:33 And Colin's little sis, Francesca,
04:35 is about to make her debut in society.
04:37 Cannot wait.
04:40 Mother's Day is around the corner.
04:42 And if you're still searching for the perfect gift, well,
04:44 you are not alone.
04:45 Did you get mom anything?
04:47 Why would I get her anything?
04:49 Because it's Mother's Day on Monday.
04:51 Well, yeah, but that's not till Monday.
04:53 That's not-- that's like a week, right?
04:54 Yeah, technically.
04:55 I got time.
04:56 OK, who's going to tell them Mother's Day is Sunday?
05:00 But hey, gift giving is an art.
05:02 And some people have, well, other talents.
05:05 I can't be good at dancing and be good at gift giving.
05:08 I can only have one of those.
05:09 Because that's your gift.
05:11 My gift is--
05:12 To dance and watch people.
05:14 Is to show people what true expression looks like.
05:18 We should just send mom gifts of us dancing for Mother's Day.
05:24 OK, so three hobbits and an elf walk into a bar.
05:27 That's not a joke.
05:28 It actually happened.
05:29 When Lord of the Rings stars Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood,
05:32 Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd reunited over drinks.
05:36 But sadly for us fans, the conversations they had
05:39 were vaulted.
05:40 So we'll never know what secrets were shared.
05:42 Earlier, Dominic posted a throwback
05:44 to tease their appearance at Comic-Con in Liverpool.
05:47 Then later, they were even joined by Sean Astin.
05:50 I love to see it.
05:51 The fellowship remains strong.
05:54 We're continuing to feature women
05:55 who was shining a light on mental health issues.
05:57 Brought to you by Maybelline, brave together.
06:00 Like singer JoJo, who admitted to writing her 2021 album,
06:04 Trying Not To Think About It, amid some tough times.
06:07 Here's her quote.
06:08 She says, "It was like my version of singing the blues.
06:12 Depression and anxiety and not being
06:14 able to get out of your mind."
06:16 And JoJo knew she wasn't the only person feeling that way.
06:19 So she talked about it to help herself
06:21 and others feel less alone.
06:23 Meanwhile, Tess Holliday is calling out
06:25 online trolls who impact her mental well-being.
06:29 One thing I'm learning on this extremely fat phobic app
06:33 is the minute you mess up, you can count on everyone
06:39 to tell you how fat you are and that you should die.
06:43 Yeah, it's great.
06:44 It's great.
06:45 A model went on to admit that her mental health is
06:47 a little fragile right now.
06:49 Sometimes some of us are just doing our best.
06:53 Now it's the sit down with Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid.
06:56 Season two of Interview With The Vampire is almost here.
07:01 Anyone want to start?
07:02 This show is based on the books by Anne Rice,
07:05 but it definitely takes some twists and turns.
07:07 Was there anything in the script this season
07:09 that genuinely shocked you?
07:11 Yeah.
07:12 Yeah, there was-- later on in the season,
07:15 there are things that Louis does that I was surprised
07:18 that he actually does.
07:20 And actually, it's probably more about what
07:22 he says the more he does.
07:24 To the extent that I was genuinely like,
07:26 I don't know if I want to say this.
07:28 Say it.
07:29 And no, no, I'm not going to say it now.
07:33 This is episode six.
07:34 OK.
07:36 I couldn't.
07:37 But like, yeah, I was definitely surprised.
07:40 And it's like, it's stuff that now I'm like,
07:42 it's my favorite stuff.
07:44 Since you had the source material,
07:45 what's one scene you knew was coming up
07:47 that you were dying to film?
07:49 There is a scene in episode three
07:51 that I shoot with Armand that in the books I always loved.
07:57 And it is-- there is like a really big character that
08:02 is missing from that scene.
08:04 And I was annoyed about that.
08:06 We know your fan base is passionate, to say the least.
08:10 Do you think this season will leave them screaming at the TV,
08:13 or will it satisfy them?
08:14 Both.
08:15 That's how it should be.
08:17 I think people are going to scream at the TV
08:19 and, yeah, feel a huge amount of satisfaction and catharsis
08:25 and hopefully emotion.
08:27 I think it's like a very, very emotional season.
08:33 I think that like--
08:34 season one was.
08:35 But I think there is also like a kind of intellectual current
08:39 that runs through Louis in the way that Louis speaks,
08:41 which a lot of it is like it's a front in season one.
08:45 You know, it's like it's a front for this detachment.
08:47 And it all kind of breaks down to like raw--
08:51 like what's underneath the skin, particularly in Dubai.
08:54 It's like, how do you really feel?
08:57 That is-- yeah, I think that when people watch it,
09:00 there are going to be things that are shocking to hear
09:04 that come out of that.
09:05 If Louis and Lestat were celebrities,
09:07 I know People.com would be writing stories
09:10 on their tumultuous relationship.
09:12 What's the headline you'd use to describe their relationship
09:14 or lack thereof this season?
09:17 Louis Statt, back at it again.
09:20 I would say like 15 people found dead in a burnt out building
09:28 on the top story of Cafe du Monde.
09:33 I think if Louis Statt were real,
09:34 they would just be like tearing [BLEEP] up.
09:37 I think the world--
09:38 the world would be their playground.
09:41 And what's a headline you'd use to describe
09:43 your friendship in real life?
09:45 "Starman of Jacob."
09:49 Go to the movies.
09:50 Go from-- walk around the city.
09:54 Sitting in a park for hours.
09:58 Now, according to the lore, when you get turned into a vampire,
10:01 you can't enjoy human food ever again.
10:04 So if you were both about to be turned,
10:06 what would be your last meal?
10:08 Just a big bowl of fries, I think.
10:11 I just ate a big bowl of fries.
10:13 That's what I'm just thinking about.
10:15 Fries.
10:16 In Prague, we-- because we filmed in Prague,
10:19 and we didn't really--
10:20 We went--
10:21 Yeah, we didn't really love the food there.
10:23 I love you.
10:25 Sam.
10:26 Jacob and I-- Jacob and I, we probably
10:29 had dinner at the same restaurant every night,
10:31 and we had the same meal every night.
10:33 We had a basil lorry, and we had chicken schnitzel.
10:37 And a salad.
10:38 And it was pretty-- and fries.
10:39 And French fries.
10:40 And I had a lovely glass of glazing.
10:42 He didn't have it.
10:43 But yeah.
10:44 And I think that was actually a really, really nice meal.
10:46 And yeah, I'd have that.
10:49 My last meal, though.
10:51 That'd be your last meal.
10:53 I would have a cinnamon bun.
10:55 You're both very convincing vampires.
10:57 But if we caught you on a day off, what would it look like?
11:03 Coffee, books, cattle farm, dive bar,
11:05 a day in the studio making music?
11:07 I'd just hang out with my family.
11:08 I have a three-year-old.
11:12 So I'm mainly just hanging out with my wife, my little girl.
11:15 That is my life.
11:16 And I love it.
11:17 It's like-- that's-- yeah.
11:20 That's my-- that's my happy place.
11:22 Finally, I'm going to put 10 seconds on the clock.
11:24 Tell everyone why they should watch Interview
11:26 with the Vampire season 2.
11:28 One.
11:29 If you've watched the first season of Interview
11:30 with the Vampire, that's the first part.
11:32 And this is the second part.
11:33 So you should watch the second part
11:34 so you can finish the story.
11:36 And the story is going to be finished in five minutes.
11:38 Virus!
11:38 [INAUDIBLE]
11:39 You and me.
11:41 Me and you.
11:42 You and me.
11:44 Jacob and Sam, thank you so much for being here.
11:47 Thank you.
11:47 No worries.
