Coco Jones would describe her day-to-day morning routine as simple and quick. If she had all the time in the world? She'd be sleeping in and baking muffins. Watch as the Grammy-winning artist guides us through her 10-minute makeup regimen, which differs significantly from her "strenuous and stunning" full event glam. Plus, she gives us the tea—well, actually, she prefers lattes—as she performs her morning affirmations in the mirror while wearing her favorite 'The Office' pajamas.

00:02 [ALARM RINGING]
00:09 Oh.
00:09 Good morning, Elle.
00:21 Wake up with me.
00:24 I know you're wondering.
00:27 Let's just address it.
00:29 My pajamas are Dunder Mifflin, and my favorite TV
00:32 show is The Office.
00:33 So yeah, I like to be reminded of something
00:35 that brings me joy and brings me laughter every day of my life.
00:39 So one of the first things that I do when I wake up--
00:42 because depending on the day, I probably only have 15 to 20
00:46 minutes until I have to be wherever I'm at.
00:48 So I try to be intentional with some sort of spiritual growth
00:54 every morning.
00:55 So I'm just going to read a quick verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:16.
01:00 "Let joy be your continual feast."
01:03 And that it.
01:03 My ideal morning, there's no time restrictions.
01:11 I'm just floating.
01:12 I wake up when I feel like it.
01:14 Make a muffin from scratch, you know?
01:16 Read a book.
01:17 That's not realistic.
01:19 But can you imagine waking up at noon?
01:22 Anyway, today, we're getting ready for the studio.
01:25 Before I get into anything business related,
01:28 I'm going to hydrate, because water is important.
01:30 And I'm really into these female drops.
01:37 They're from Dr. Schultz.
01:39 I don't know.
01:40 It's like a herbal thing.
01:41 My homegirl, who's really into body health,
01:43 she put me onto it.
01:44 And it makes me feel less crazy.
01:47 I don't know.
01:49 Maybe it works.
01:49 Maybe it doesn't.
01:50 Let's go.
01:52 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:55 All right, don't come too close.
02:01 Don't want to hurt you with this morning breath.
02:03 Just being honest.
02:04 Now that I'm in the mirror, it's time to elevate my person.
02:08 And that's with some affirmations.
02:10 And take this off.
02:12 Yes.
02:13 The pony is good.
02:15 Thank you, scarf.
02:16 Mwah.
02:16 Let's do this.
02:18 I am whoever I wish to be.
02:20 I am whoever I wish to be.
02:22 I take steps each week that prioritize my personal
02:25 and professional goals.
02:27 I take steps each week--
02:28 I take steps each week--
02:33 wait.
02:34 I take steps each week that prioritize my personal
02:38 and professional goals.
02:39 That's good.
02:40 One more, lady.
02:40 I am love.
02:41 I am light.
02:42 I am everything I need to be.
02:44 I am love.
02:44 I am light.
02:45 I am everything I need to be.
02:47 That's good.
02:48 OK, thank you.
02:50 I'm just going to brush my teeth.
02:51 [WATER RUNNING]
02:54 Also, do y'all brush your tongue?
02:55 Because I do.
02:57 I just don't want you to see that.
02:59 Don't look at me.
03:00 I don't really use a lot of products, to be honest.
03:02 I very much just want it to be intentional.
03:05 And yes, I'm putting another thing on my edges
03:06 because I'm not going to mess up this ponytail for anyone.
03:11 Thank you, Amazon.
03:13 I discovered my skincare routine, honestly,
03:16 through my dermatologist because I realized
03:19 I don't know what I'm doing.
03:21 So I use a very simple, intentional routine
03:24 by a professional.
03:25 [WATER RUNNING]
03:28 Next, I'm going to dry my face off and use either--
03:35 I switch during the days.
03:36 Either it's alizaeic acid or it's like benzoyl peroxide.
03:41 I don't know.
03:42 They're very powerful names.
03:43 So I mean, they do what they need to do.
03:46 Just put a little bit of that on.
03:48 And then my moisturizer, which my moisturizer is very thick
03:52 because my skin gets very dry.
03:54 So this is the Skin Renewing Night Cream from Ceravi.
03:59 Am I saying that right?
04:00 I don't know.
04:01 All right.
04:03 This can come off because no water will damage these edges.
04:07 And it's time to do a little makeup.
04:10 Honestly, I kind of use sunscreen as a primer.
04:15 I like less steps, more effective.
04:18 So I use a sunscreen.
04:20 And that kind of is my base.
04:21 But it's also protecting me from the sun rays.
04:24 Thanks, sunscreen.
04:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:28 An everyday look for me, I'm not doing full glam
04:35 because I just get so fed up with sitting
04:38 in the chair for two to two and a half to three hours
04:41 for a 15-minute carpet that I'm like, ah!
04:44 No.
04:45 We do 10 minutes, and then we're free.
04:48 So I'm quick, like glam, especially on a day like this
04:51 where I'm just going to the studio.
04:52 I feel like an OG YouTuber that I always really
04:55 loved was Jackie Aina.
04:58 I know she's a super entrepreneur in all the field,
05:01 but she was definitely one of the first girls
05:03 to teach me how to beat my face a little bit.
05:06 I don't know what has happened as I've gotten more busy,
05:11 but all the noise really grinds my gears.
05:15 So literally, I will have my AirPods in 90% of the time.
05:20 My brother the other day was like,
05:21 why do you have your AirPods in?
05:22 And I was like, dude, the noise.
05:24 It's just too much noise.
05:25 So I say all that to say, I like the quiet.
05:28 I don't want to have to hear all that ruckus,
05:30 because I know it's going to be a long day filled
05:32 with a lot of voices, a lot of opinions, a lot of sounds.
05:37 And so the longer I can hold on to the peace and quiet,
05:39 the longer I will.
05:40 When it's just me, my day-to-day glam is simple and quick.
05:47 But when I'm getting dressed for an event,
05:49 my glam is intense, it's powerful, it's draining,
05:54 it's strenuous, and it's stunning.
05:57 There's some good adjectives.
06:02 So lastly, I'm going to do a quick little lip,
06:05 and I'm going to check my brows, see
06:08 if they need some fine tuning, and then I'll be really done.
06:12 So I normally do a little lip liner,
06:14 and I do a chapstick, because I feel like the glosses,
06:17 I don't like having to wear them all the time.
06:19 I feel like it's a huge coat on top of my lips,
06:22 and I don't like that feeling, especially
06:24 when I'm going to go to the studio.
06:25 I'm going to be right up on the mic, like, let's not do that.
06:28 Chapstick is crucial.
06:35 I don't play about my chapsticks.
06:36 I need them to last.
06:37 And I know you guys are wondering, am I a coffee girl?
06:43 Am I a tea girl?
06:45 I'm a latte girl.
06:47 Let's go get her.
06:47 Cheers.
06:54 Oh my god, it's so full.
06:56 But anyway, this is the time where I just chill,
06:59 take a little moment of silence and stillness
07:02 before the day gets crazy.
07:04 Maybe even take a quick little walk.
07:06 But yeah, I love lattes, by the way.
07:08 I'm super into them.
07:09 I have my whole espresso machine and my different flavors,
07:13 my different types of milk, and I'm very much a barista.
07:16 Three things that I always have in my bag
07:23 would be my phone, my AirPods or my earphones, and chapstick.
07:30 I really don't like having chapped lips.
07:33 And then an additional would be mints,
07:36 because I don't want to have bad breaths
07:38 after all these lattes.
07:39 One of my favorite ways to incorporate working out
07:47 is a quick little walk.
07:48 Just fit it in, in between, whatever I have to do.
07:52 But before I do that, look at this.
07:54 So this is one of my favorite perfumes, Giorgio Armani
07:56 My Way.
07:57 And I had it customized in Dallas
08:00 at one of my performances.
08:02 So basically, the venue was super sweet,
08:05 and they customized this perfume for me.
08:07 It says, congratulations, sold out, the date.
08:11 Echo, Dallas.
08:12 So cute.
08:13 So yeah, last step, just make sure you smell good.
08:17 Let's go.
