00:00 The Department of Energy has confirmed that the current supply of electricity is sufficient for the 2025 bid term elections.
00:07 This is despite the yellow and red power alerts this year.
00:11 According to the DOE, there are plants that will be installed to increase the current supply.
00:16 Daniel Manalistas is back in the center of the news.
00:23 Senators blamed the current supply of electricity in the country, like the power outages that happened recently.
00:30 Senator Rafi Tulfo asked how the plants are doing now and if maintenance will be done.
00:36 Tulfo said that if the plants are properly maintained and follow the maintenance procedure,
00:42 the plant cannot be a failure that has a breakdown because a part is damaged.
00:47 Your honors, in terms of maintenance inspection, there is no regular maintenance inspection.
00:55 After 10 years, after 50 years, after 100,000 years, you can inspect it and it's okay.
01:01 That's where the problem is.
01:04 That's why there are many power outages that when we inquire,
01:10 we are told that the plant has a breakdown because it's damaged, a part needs to be replaced,
01:16 and we need to order where the world is located.
01:21 So you're not doing your job in the ERC.
01:23 If I can just clarify, the first inspection of the ERC is during the COC application.
01:29 During the application.
01:30 That's the first inspection.
01:32 Previously, the COC rules provides for a five-year term of the COC.
01:38 So after five years?
01:41 No, mid-term.
01:43 So five years of mid-term is after two and a half years.
01:46 Two and a half years and then the next will be the next application.
01:50 According to the DOE, they are doing something to solve the problems.
01:55 Senator Chiese is right. Our generators are catching up.
02:00 They are not coming in fast enough.
02:02 So we're hoping that if we incentivize new builds for this capacity that is not yet being addressed in the plant,
02:10 then we will be able to address the loss of load, as you mentioned.
02:14 In the next election, how will the electricity supply be?
02:19 In the areas where they are supposed to come in this year,
02:24 more than 4,000 megawatts will be supplied.
02:27 2,000 plus is conventional.
02:30 1,900 plus is renewable.
02:34 If you compare their gigawatt hours, it will be an 18% increase compared to the 2022 values.
02:41 Our increase in growth is about 6% per year.
02:46 So until 2026, our growth rate is covered.
02:51 According to the DOE, in the next year, there will be plants that are expected to address the problem of electricity.
