00:34 This is one of the instructions of President Bongbong Marcos in the commencement exercises of the Philippine Military Academy

00:41 at the Fort General Grigorio del Pilar in Baguio City earlier.

00:44 Against evolving threats that harm our people and corrodes social and political trust,

00:49 we will be adept, we will be flexible, and we will be ready in repelling such things.

00:55 To achieve that, cadets must be prepared.

00:59 He ordered the Department of National Defense and Armed Forces of the Philippines

01:04 to examine the PMA Curriculum to ensure that cadets are ready to fight any threat.

01:10 The President also condemned those who are accused of destabilization.

01:26 278 cadets of the PMA Bagong Sine Class of 2024 graduated.

01:31 Many cadets including the Class of 2024 reached 54.

01:36 Vice President Sara Duterte also attended the commencement exercises.

01:41 The 24-year-old Second Lieutenant Jeneth Ilumba from Surigao City was the first in the PMA Bagong Sine Class of 2024.

01:50 She was the 7th female valedictorian of the PMA since 1997.

01:54 She was awarded the Presidential Saber Award.

01:57 I have this inspiration that primarily came from my father who aspired to be a public servant as uniformed personnel,

02:06 but due to circumstances he was not able to pursue and then he encouraged me.

02:11 Of the newly completed soldiers, 143 will be counted in the Philippine Army,

02:16 73 in the Philippine Navy and 62 in the Philippine Air Force.
