00:41The price of aluminum in particular in the agriculture sector is high.

00:46In the whole country, Php 4.6 billion in rice,

00:50Php 3.7 billion in corn,

00:53Php 1.6 billion in high-value crops,

00:55and Php 10.47 million in livestock and poultry.

00:59According to the National Federation of Hog Farmers Incorporated,

01:02aside from the pigs that are dying,

01:05one of the common effects of the extremely hot weather on pigs is that they do not grow.

01:11Instead of being able to grow them to 115 to 120 kilos of live weight,

01:17now it's like 90 to 100 kilos.

01:21We are lucky.

01:22It's very difficult because the feeds are still expensive.

01:25So of course, the chances are that the farmers,

01:28even if the pigs are small,

01:29when they reach the right age, they will also be able to produce.

01:35Because there is no market.

01:37Because of the hot weather,

01:39the price of pigs' food is also affected,

01:42like corn, where Php 3.7 billion has been spent.

01:47The price of corn will increase if we don't supply it.

01:52The Department of Agriculture approved the effect of aluminum on hog raisers.

01:56Right now, we're importing 40% of corn.

02:02so that we can increase the production of raw materials that we don't import.

02:08In the last price monitoring of the Department of Agriculture,

02:11the price of pork per kilo increased by Php 20 per family in Metro Manila.

02:16Here in Mega Q Mart in Quezon City,

02:18the price of pork per kilo increased from Php 330 to Php 400.

02:23On the other hand, the farmers of El Nino

02:25were assured by the DA that the supply of pork is enough.

02:28The retail price is also far from the farm gate price of pork.

02:31Sometimes, the difference is Php 50 to Php 100.

02:36We have enough supply and the price is low.

02:39There are traders who are taking advantage.

02:47so that they won't take advantage of our consumers.
