00:13Already on Stage 8 I noticed I have good legs, I thought maybe I have legs to win a stage.

00:19The Queen's Stage was an unbelievable day.

00:23I could already be happy just with the Queen's Stage, with this Giro.

00:28And today, already when I rolled to the sign-on, I thought to myself, fuck, I have good legs, maybe I will win today.

00:38And then I went from the beginning in the break.

00:42It was a little bit strange because we got caught by the peloton again,

00:45but at one moment I decided I have to try again.

00:49And I did, and it worked out.

00:52Your father rode the Giro before you. Did you think of him during this 34 km solo?

00:58To be honest, I didn't really think about much, I just concentrated on the road in front of me.

01:04The roads were super wet and slippery, so I was just in my zone.

01:12Were you asking what Pogacar was doing behind?

01:16Well, I heard it on the radio and I was super nervous on the last climb.

01:20I knew I had to push all the way to the finish.

01:24I heard at one point that he was attacking, but I was already two k's to go, so I thought I will make it.

01:46No, I knew it was too far to win, because Steinhauser is a super strong rider.

01:54He showed on the first climb how strong he is.

01:58And also in the end he was riding so well.

02:02And when we got the gaps, we knew we wouldn't go for the stage.

02:11Yes, Ineos rode pretty hard and it was quite an uncomfortable pace.

02:21And then Martinez tried to attack, I tried to follow.

02:25I wanted to continue with a good pace and that was it.

02:32Were you always in a comfort zone today, despite the weather, the clouds?

02:37A little bit. At the bottom of the last downhill I was shaking a little bit.

02:44But when we started climbing I took off the wet clothing and it was better.

02:52Yes, I'm happy and let's hope what Molano can show.
