Was driving through my town after stopping at the post office for my mail. Got behind a local cop who, like most of them, doesn't normally use his turn signals. I observed that, on two consecutive turns, he did not activate his turn signals until he started making the turn. Probably took him that long to find the stick, if I were to guess.

According to La. R.S. 32:104(B), one is legally required to signal beginning at no less than 100 feet prior to the turn. As seen in the video, this deputy twice violated LRS 32:104(B). But at least he did signal at some point. I also observed him to stay stationary at the green light for a few seconds. He was probably texting - but believe it or not that's legal. Law enfarcement are specifically exempted from Louisiana's texting-while-driving ban.

The radio traffic heard was unrelated, Louisiana State Police doing something in a different parish. And yea, I know I cut the corner off after the deputy did the same thing. That could be considered a strategic or tactical imitation.
