00:08 Pubs have been a cornerstone of our local communities for centuries,
00:11 offering a place for people to meet together and socialise,
00:14 as well as providing thousands of jobs and a cornerstone of the local economy.
00:18 Here we go behind the bar to meet the people who run our pubs
00:21 and say why it's important for you to love your local.
00:24 So if you just introduce yourself a bit about how long you've been here and a bit about the pub.
00:28 So my name's Matt, I've been the landlord here at the Rosencrown for the last 15 years.
00:33 When it was first taken on, it was taken on as part of a Project William
00:39 in partnership with Everards and Brampton Brewery.
00:42 The pub itself was actually boarded up and had been closed for 18 months
00:48 and it was opened November 2009 and it's been operating ever since.
00:55 What makes it a nice pub?
00:57 Mostly the people that come in, we cater for those people that do come in.
01:03 So we've got the likes of the Ten Real Ales, we've got the craft beers, Continental Lagers,
01:08 wine, spirits, anything you can imagine we can probably, we can probably knock together.
01:14 How many staff do you employ?
01:15 We have currently, I believe it's 16, 16 staff at the moment.
01:20 What's your most popular beer you sell?
01:23 The most popular beer that we sell is, it's a Hampel Real Ale Golden Bud from Brampton Brewery.
01:28 We currently stock it in 18 gallon casks, it is the only thing that we do stock in 18 gallons.
01:34 What other beers do you sell for your customers?
01:37 So the beer range is quite large, it goes from low ABV strength pails to high strength IPAs,
01:45 flavoured stouts, amber bitters, all sorts.
01:52 Any memorable moments of working at the pub?
01:54 There are so many that we'd have to actually probably put them in a book,
01:59 but over the 15 years there are a few things that stand out,
02:02 some that we would probably keep to ourselves because it does involve some of the customers.
02:07 Tell me a bit about your future plans.
02:09 So with it going into the later end of this year we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary here.
02:15 Just so happens this year we've won the Chesterfield Cameron Pub of the year,
02:20 and Cider Pub of the year, and North Derbyshire Pub of the year, so all this coming together
02:24 in one year is making it quite a good year so far.
