00:00 France's support for Ukraine has grown ever more vocal since Russia first invaded two
00:05 years ago. Emmanuel Macron, the only European leader, refusing to preclude the possibility
00:11 of NATO boots on the ground.
00:13 And visiting France for the D-Day commemorations, Vladimir Zelensky celebrated the recent French
00:19 promise of fighter jets.
00:21 "You already help us save lives and hold back the Russian troops with your advice and your
00:29 experience. Thank you. And I'm sure the day will come when Ukraine will see in its skies
00:35 planes like the ones we saw yesterday in the skies over Normandy."
00:40 But, according to the German Kiel Institute, France has seemingly failed to put its money
00:46 where its mouth is compared to other Western allies.
00:50 Its military support is valued at 2.6 billion euros, far behind the 10 billion euros provided
00:55 by neighbouring Germany.
00:57 The French government disputes these figures though, and in rebuttal the Ministry of Defence
01:02 published an exhaustive list of military supplies sent to Ukraine.
01:06 State-of-the-art missile systems, howitzers, drones, armoured vehicles, guns and more - a
01:11 list estimated at over 5 billion euros by the ministry.
01:15 Not to mention the supply of weapons like the Storm Shadow cruise missile, the details
01:19 of which remain classified.
01:21 The ministry also pointed out that Germany has stopped short of authorising its own Taurus
01:26 cruise missile for delivery to Ukraine.
