00:00:00 (upbeat music)
00:00:02 - Can you say hard hats folks?
00:00:06 Hard hats, lunch pails, steel tool, boots.
00:00:09 - Anything short of a championship this year is a failure.
00:00:11 - It's time to look at this boomer right here.
00:00:13 - You've just got so much talent here.
00:00:15 - Somebody said we need to apologize for Jamie.
00:00:17 - Can I pull the John?
00:00:18 What are we apologizing for?
00:00:20 What did we say?
00:00:21 What did we do?
00:00:21 (upbeat music)
00:00:29 (laughing)
00:00:31 - We don't even need the rolling.
00:00:34 What's up guys?
00:00:35 - What's up Jimmy?
00:00:36 - Hard hats, lunch pails, steel tool, boots,
00:00:40 Chris taps, poor Zingus after a little vacation.
00:00:43 Coming back to work today.
00:00:45 John, you know what we have to do.
00:00:48 You know exactly what we have to do.
00:00:50 - What do we have to do Jimmy?
00:00:52 - We told the people we would do it.
00:00:54 John has been avoiding it all year.
00:00:57 - The apology cam is front and center.
00:01:01 - Didn't we say this would be the happiest apology cam
00:01:04 of our lives?
00:01:05 - Yes we did.
00:01:06 - I gotta say man, like I said, this one's easy.
00:01:09 And this isn't me like doing an apology cam
00:01:12 'cause Luke had one good game type of thing
00:01:15 which Bobby tried to force over and over again.
00:01:18 This was look, this was fair to wonder
00:01:21 what was gonna happen 'cause Chris taps,
00:01:23 poor Zingus coming back.
00:01:24 And I gotta tell you like my panic level
00:01:26 was like seven and then he wasn't starting
00:01:30 and then it went to like 11.
00:01:32 I didn't like that at all.
00:01:35 But then he checks in less than five minutes in,
00:01:39 it's like oh.
00:01:40 - Buckets.
00:01:41 - And so you're like okay, it was more of a rotational thing
00:01:44 the way they wanted to manage the minutes.
00:01:46 They wanted him to come in but he came in that early.
00:01:49 So that was a good sign and then my God,
00:01:52 I mean that first half was the best game
00:01:54 he played all year.
00:01:56 - Absolutely. - Unbelievable.
00:01:58 - So I'm still not sure, I'll live,
00:02:02 I'll frame everything I'm saying within the apology cam
00:02:05 'cause I have no problem with that.
00:02:06 But I'm still not sure whether he was being coy
00:02:09 or what truly didn't know how he was going to be
00:02:11 and whether he'd be able to react.
00:02:14 First play to him, Tatum tried to kick it to him on a cut
00:02:17 and his hands were a little slow and it bounced off him
00:02:19 and went out of bounds.
00:02:20 It was like okay, there's that kind of game speed thing
00:02:22 that you were worried about there.
00:02:24 And then all of a sudden just fuck it, fuck it.
00:02:28 - I honestly think-- - Block shot, block shot.
00:02:30 Unbelievable for Zingus.
00:02:33 So if that's what the apology cam is gonna be,
00:02:35 I'll take it. - I'm gonna pause.
00:02:36 He was playing coy the whole time.
00:02:38 Yeah, you know what though?
00:02:39 I honestly think that he needed to prove it to himself.
00:02:42 Everybody told him within the organization
00:02:44 he was ready to go, go out there and do your thing.
00:02:47 He just needed to see himself do it
00:02:49 and I think it was like after,
00:02:51 I think it only took like a minute for him to be like,
00:02:54 okay, I'm going at full speed, I feel good.
00:02:57 I'm about to block this shot.
00:02:58 I'm about to throw down this dunk.
00:02:59 I'm about to hit this shot.
00:03:00 It was unbelievable.
00:03:02 Playoff, this is like one of those historic,
00:03:05 this is like one of those moments you remember.
00:03:07 Like Bobby likes to go there, like this moment in history,
00:03:10 that's what Bobby likes to do.
00:03:12 He might have something tonight with looking back
00:03:15 on years from now we're gonna be talking about
00:03:18 Chris Tapp's poor Zingus.
00:03:19 He's actually probably right in this case.
00:03:22 - Yeah, and some people are asking.
00:03:25 - I mean, yeah, Sherrod, you're muted.
00:03:27 Now you're not.
00:03:28 - Sorry, Sherrod, I muted you.
00:03:29 I'm popping out one second.
00:03:30 I'm making a technical switch here.
00:03:31 I'll let you guys carry it
00:03:33 and I'll be right back onto the show, okay?
00:03:34 - Oh, we will carry it.
00:03:36 - No, what I was saying,
00:03:36 this is exactly why you brought him in here
00:03:39 for games like this.
00:03:40 When you knew that your goal to win a championship,
00:03:44 you're gonna need all hands on deck.
00:03:46 And I, you know, the way that he was able to impact the game
00:03:49 I didn't think he would impact it this way.
00:03:51 I thought his presence would open things up
00:03:53 for Tatum and Brown and Drew and those other guys
00:03:55 but not the case.
00:03:57 He got his own damn offense going.
00:04:00 The mid-range, and the thing about it,
00:04:02 Dallas tried to make some adjustments, which was smart.
00:04:05 They tried to go with size.
00:04:06 He just beats them off the dribble.
00:04:08 They went small.
00:04:09 He just shoot right over the top of them.
00:04:11 There was nothing that the Dallas Mavericks
00:04:13 could do in that first half to minimize his impact.
00:04:16 And offensively, you know, and we'll talk more about it,
00:04:19 but you know, Luca did what Luca does.
00:04:21 This is who he is.
00:04:22 He is a bucket getter.
00:04:24 But the one stack that I think speaks to how well
00:04:27 the Celtics were able to frankly limit him,
00:04:30 which again, give him 30 points.
00:04:32 You don't think that's limiting a guy, but he had one assist.
00:04:35 When you can keep him from getting those other guys
00:04:37 involved, that is when you are having success against Luca.
00:04:41 It's those triple double games that are problematic
00:04:43 when he can get you 30 points, 10, 11 rebounds,
00:04:46 eight, nine, 10 assists.
00:04:48 So their ability to limit the others was huge.
00:04:51 - I am wrong.
00:04:54 I thought they could try to like, just focus on Luca,
00:04:57 take Luca out of the game,
00:04:58 and then make the rest of the team sort of figure it out.
00:05:01 But they let Luca do it.
00:05:03 I mean, they didn't let him do his thing,
00:05:03 but Luca did his thing, right?
00:05:05 30 points.
00:05:06 But they just did not get that supporting cast help.
00:05:09 Still in Sherrod, I mean, we all put our previews in earlier.
00:05:12 You can catch, you can find that on the CLNS website.
00:05:15 We all had the Celtics in either like five or six games,
00:05:18 I believe.
00:05:19 And a big part of that reason was,
00:05:21 after Luca and Kyrie, if you're Dallas,
00:05:24 again, no disrespect,
00:05:25 but the drop-off is pretty significant
00:05:27 compared to where the Celtics are,
00:05:28 where after Tatum and Brown,
00:05:30 like you got to, you're getting hit with Holiday.
00:05:33 You're getting hit with Porzingis now out of nowhere, right?
00:05:35 You're getting hit with White.
00:05:36 These guys are, they're going to keep coming after you.
00:05:39 So tonight, you know, shout out Jaylon Brown
00:05:41 for kind of, you know, being that, you know,
00:05:43 the alpha there again.
00:05:44 But Porzingis punched them in the mouth.
00:05:47 I don't know if they were ready for what Porzingis,
00:05:49 clearly they weren't ready for what Porzingis did to them.
00:05:52 - No, they weren't.
00:05:53 And they tried, they made some, I thought,
00:05:55 decent adjustments in the second half.
00:05:56 They tried to be a little bit more physical with them.
00:05:58 You know, when he caught the ball at the elbow
00:06:00 and even out near the three-point line,
00:06:01 they really made sure that they got up
00:06:03 in his space immediately.
00:06:05 And we saw what happened when that, when that occurred.
00:06:07 He put the ball on the floor and got to the hole for a dunk.
00:06:11 You know, and so Dallas,
00:06:13 when they go back and look at the film of this,
00:06:15 they're going to, I'm not sure that they can come up
00:06:18 with enough solutions to all the problems
00:06:21 that Boston caused them tonight.
00:06:23 'Cause you know, when they were able to get it down
00:06:25 to a single digit game,
00:06:26 that's when Jaylon Brown went into Jaylon Brown mode
00:06:28 and just took over.
00:06:30 And the next thing you know, I mean,
00:06:32 we even got a Sam Houser sighting.
00:06:34 - You got a decent Sam Houser.
00:06:36 - I mean, this was, this was, right.
00:06:38 And not only was he knocking down the three ball,
00:06:40 but he even did a decent job on Luke.
00:06:42 I mean, the first two possessions,
00:06:43 Luka had a miss shot and he had a turnover.
00:06:46 And it was an individual.
00:06:48 It wasn't like there was help side defense.
00:06:49 He actually forced Luka to turn the ball.
00:06:52 So this was a really good game.
00:06:55 I thought it was so many levels.
00:06:56 - 100%.
00:07:00 - Hey guys, how do I sound?
00:07:03 - On you there, you sound fine.
00:07:04 - Yeah, I sound fine.
00:07:05 I had to switch, I had to switch microphones.
00:07:07 I was making sure I got a little CN on.
00:07:10 - Oh, look at you with the flag.
00:07:11 Love that.
00:07:12 - Look at him.
00:07:13 - You almost look professional.
00:07:15 - I'm flying my freak flight.
00:07:16 Yeah, I'm here.
00:07:17 We're here at the garden.
00:07:18 We're having fun.
00:07:20 - Yeah, so we got you there.
00:07:20 - You guys wanna see Ahmed?
00:07:22 You guys wanna see Ahmed?
00:07:23 - Don't do it.
00:07:24 - I thought I saw Ahmed floating around here.
00:07:27 - It's a mystery.
00:07:29 It's a mystery.
00:07:30 - He's real.
00:07:32 - We got, so wait, John,
00:07:33 why don't you tell everybody what we have in store for them?
00:07:35 Who's at the garden?
00:07:36 - Ahmed exists.
00:07:37 He really is, he's a real person.
00:07:39 - We might get a six box tonight.
00:07:42 You know, a hexa box.
00:07:44 - That would be unreal.
00:07:44 Hexagon.
00:07:45 - Hexa box.
00:07:46 - We're not in homeschool.
00:07:48 - You're gonna get boomer nix.
00:07:50 Ahmed's running out right now to set up a headshot.
00:07:53 High five.
00:07:55 He's high fiving everybody on the way out.
00:07:57 - Ahmed's happy.
00:08:00 His guy, Jalen, did his thing tonight too.
00:08:03 - Yeah, what were you guys talking about?
00:08:04 - We got Bobby.
00:08:05 What were we talking about?
00:08:08 We were just kind of shooting around the horn for a minute.
00:08:10 I mean, we talked about Porzingis.
00:08:12 We talked about what Luca was able to do,
00:08:14 but the fact that basically, you know,
00:08:16 my thinking was, was do what you can to stop Luca
00:08:20 and force the rest of the Mavs to take care of business.
00:08:23 But the opposite happened.
00:08:24 - I thought what they did,
00:08:24 I thought their strategy was great,
00:08:26 except for that small lapse in the third
00:08:28 where they just kind of were sluggish,
00:08:29 particularly on offense.
00:08:31 I like what they did with Luca.
00:08:32 Their switching was beautiful tonight.
00:08:36 They were so good with their switches.
00:08:38 And again, this is what you like about the Boston matchup.
00:08:41 I thought Horford did really well
00:08:43 in space against the guards there.
00:08:45 As Joe's willing to concede some stuff,
00:08:52 they did a really good job.
00:08:53 When Luca would drive, they would pinch on his drives there
00:08:58 and try to make him make a decision.
00:09:00 And they did a really good job
00:09:01 kind of messing up the coverages on those lobs
00:09:03 where Dallas didn't really get that lob game going at all.
00:09:06 So they had a really, really, really smart game plan
00:09:09 that they executed really well.
00:09:12 And Dallas just couldn't get anything going.
00:09:15 And if you wanna look at it in really basic terms, yeah.
00:09:18 I mean, what did we say beforehand?
00:09:20 Luca and Kyrie can both have good games
00:09:23 and the Celtics can still win this.
00:09:25 Kyrie did not have a good game.
00:09:27 Luca's gonna do what Luca's gonna do.
00:09:29 Dallas just doesn't have enough elsewhere
00:09:32 where you're really, like I said,
00:09:34 you're gonna need Caleb Martin-like performances
00:09:36 or an incredible shooting variance.
00:09:38 And that's what I was saying in the previews.
00:09:40 And that's what I said in my previews and prediction is,
00:09:42 I think Dallas has to play a near perfect game
00:09:45 and get like incredible shooting variance in their favor
00:09:48 or else it's gonna be really difficult here.
00:09:51 And the Celtics did exactly what they wanted to do.
00:09:52 I thought in the first half,
00:09:53 the Celtics made every correct read.
00:09:56 I know we're gonna bust on Tatum a tad,
00:09:58 but we are, it's fine.
00:10:01 And then people are gonna be, "Dude, he did everything."
00:10:03 He did a lot of things.
00:10:04 You still wanna see him be able to score
00:10:07 a little bit better,
00:10:08 but Dallas threw bodies at him.
00:10:09 Dallas was clogging the paint.
00:10:10 He made all the right reads.
00:10:12 You wanna do a potential assist celebration for Tatum?
00:10:16 We can do one tonight.
00:10:17 He made a lot of drive and kick situations
00:10:21 that I thought was the right play
00:10:23 and the right pass all the time.
00:10:26 So he did well,
00:10:27 but he's having a tough time getting to his spot
00:10:29 to get shots off.
00:10:30 But every time he got to the lane
00:10:32 and there were bodies there,
00:10:32 he did not force it to his credit.
00:10:34 He did really, really good.
00:10:36 And again, going back to Luca, what you said earlier,
00:10:39 they made him work for all of it.
00:10:41 He scored 30 points on 26 shots.
00:10:43 Yes, take that.
00:10:44 He had one assist.
00:10:45 What are we doing here?
00:10:46 The Mavericks had, what did they finish with?
00:10:48 It was six assists at one point.
00:10:50 - They weren't getting to the line.
00:10:51 - Yeah, and that's what you want.
00:10:53 That's exactly what you want.
00:10:55 As far as Tatum is concerned,
00:10:57 we can talk more about him later, but-
00:10:58 - They finished with eight.
00:11:00 Yeah, geez.
00:11:01 - The thing about Tatum is that he was able to get beat,
00:11:04 whoever was guarding him off the dribble, all game long.
00:11:07 I mean, he had the driving kick game going,
00:11:08 but there were at least, I'd say, four or five times
00:11:11 where he could have just laid it up.
00:11:13 And he just elected to just kick it out to guys
00:11:15 wide open in the corner.
00:11:16 And if you're Dallas, I'm not sure how you embrace that.
00:11:20 I mean, the good news is that, you know,
00:11:22 he wasn't scoring a ton of points,
00:11:24 but the bad news is he got in the hole pretty much at will
00:11:27 and made the conscious choice to pass the ball
00:11:30 as opposed to trying to finish at the rim.
00:11:33 Depending on what Dallas does going forward in game two,
00:11:36 if they try to take away that passing lane that Tatum gets,
00:11:39 he's just going to look to score layups.
00:11:41 And if you're Dallas at that point, it's like,
00:11:44 damned if you do, damned if you don't with Tatum.
00:11:47 'Cause again, he didn't score a ton of points,
00:11:50 but I thought he was a major problem for Dallas' defense
00:11:53 because of his ability to get in that sweet spot
00:11:55 and just spray the ball to whoever was open.
00:11:58 - Facts, my dog.
00:12:00 Yeah, I mean, listen, you know, we'll talk about Tatum.
00:12:03 I mean, we talked about Porzingis.
00:12:05 I don't want to skip talking about Brown.
00:12:07 I know that's kind of our thing on this show,
00:12:10 but Brown has been the guy for a while now.
00:12:14 He's been the consistent playoff performer.
00:12:17 And I just love his mentality the last couple of months.
00:12:21 I love his mentality tonight.
00:12:22 Love the aggressiveness.
00:12:25 This is one of the reasons, again,
00:12:26 why I was confident in picking the Celtics in five,
00:12:30 by the way, no big deal.
00:12:33 It feels like Brown and Tatum understand the moment.
00:12:36 They understand what's at stake personally.
00:12:39 They understand how hard it is to get here.
00:12:42 They do have some help, obviously.
00:12:44 Porzingis did his thing tonight.
00:12:45 They have Drew Haldane, who's probably,
00:12:47 it's probably easy for Drew to drive home that point
00:12:50 of just how special it is to be here
00:12:53 and how special it is to win.
00:12:54 And then they've got Al Horford,
00:12:56 who's laying it all out on the line.
00:12:58 You can just tell that Al Horford is like, this is it.
00:13:02 Like, you know, I mean, talk about a guy who's,
00:13:05 who's been there over and over and over and over
00:13:08 and talking about just playoff games.
00:13:10 He's played in over two full seasons of playoff games.
00:13:12 And so everybody on this team understands
00:13:17 what's being called upon right now.
00:13:21 And I feel like Jalen Brown is kind of leading the way.
00:13:23 It's not to say that Tatum isn't,
00:13:25 it just feels like Jalen Brown is not going to let
00:13:28 anything get in the way of-
00:13:31 - Well, Jimmy, you-
00:13:32 - What they're trying to do.
00:13:33 - Where's Louise? Where's Louise?
00:13:35 Where's Louise? Is she in here?
00:13:37 - But Jimmy, here's the thing.
00:13:38 - She just fainted.
00:13:39 - When Dallas was making its run in that third quarter
00:13:42 and it got it down a single digit, who took over?
00:13:44 Jalen Brown.
00:13:45 His ability to get, not only get to his spots,
00:13:48 but just knock down shots and just push back
00:13:50 on that Lucas surge that they had.
00:13:52 And that's really, when you go back
00:13:53 to the Eastern Conference Finals,
00:13:55 that's kind of the role he's been cast in playing.
00:13:58 The guy, whenever things get a little bit of wobbly,
00:14:00 who's going to just right the ship?
00:14:02 That's been Jalen Brown.
00:14:03 It was Jalen Brown in the Conference Finals.
00:14:04 It was Jalen Brown in game one.
00:14:07 And again, he didn't score a ton of points,
00:14:09 but he scored really vital, impactful,
00:14:12 difference-making points in that third quarter
00:14:14 to take that single digit lead
00:14:15 and push it back up to 20 and some change.
00:14:18 - And the defense, you know, I mean-
00:14:20 - Three blocks.
00:14:22 - Setting the tone early, I mean, right out of the gate.
00:14:24 And obviously there's a ton of switching there.
00:14:26 So it doesn't end up being his only assignment all game,
00:14:31 but right out of the gate, he picks up Luka full court
00:14:34 and you're like, okay, here we go.
00:14:35 And it's kind of shades of that James Harden matchup
00:14:37 against Philly where he just decided,
00:14:41 "Nope, not going to do this again."
00:14:44 And so that was kind of the intensity
00:14:45 that he played with all night.
00:14:47 And I think the turning point of the entire game
00:14:49 was the third quarter where the Celtics,
00:14:52 where the lead got back down to eight,
00:14:54 and Jalen made those series of energy plays there.
00:14:58 He denies a lob and he gets a block,
00:15:01 you know, he hits a three and all of a sudden
00:15:03 just changes the entire, really, not to be cute
00:15:07 about the energy shifting, but he really changed the energy
00:15:10 of the third quarter when the Celtics were flat, flat.
00:15:13 And he was part of the offensive stagnation
00:15:15 that started the quarter,
00:15:16 but his plays particularly on defense,
00:15:18 and how many times we say like, turn defense to offense,
00:15:21 like, let the defense guide you.
00:15:25 When things go colder, you start to stagnate,
00:15:27 and they did, they were holding the ball too long
00:15:29 a little bit to start the third quarter,
00:15:31 and everybody was standing around,
00:15:32 they were taking the first available three,
00:15:34 or they were taking too long to get into their actions,
00:15:37 and that they really only had one pass
00:15:39 and one shot that was even available to them.
00:15:43 And that was just a shitty offense
00:15:44 and really, really bad start to the third.
00:15:46 And Jalen saved their ass.
00:15:47 And honestly, I didn't panic as much
00:15:50 as one would think.
00:15:52 It was annoying, and you're like, don't do this.
00:15:54 But like, they pulled it back pretty quick.
00:15:57 And they go from 21 to eight,
00:16:01 back to 20 to end that third quarter, and that was it.
00:16:05 That third quarter saved them.
00:16:07 If you let Dallas enter that fourth quarter
00:16:09 with a single digit lead,
00:16:13 then it's white knuckle time the rest of the way.
00:16:15 - Yeah.
00:16:16 - Yeah, I was fishing through the memes already
00:16:18 and the gifs trying to figure out what I was gonna post
00:16:20 when Dallas brought to a one,
00:16:22 like when Luka hits a three to bring it
00:16:24 within one possession, I was just ready for it.
00:16:26 But gotta give Selby credit.
00:16:28 And I think that's why that Pacer series
00:16:31 was so important to them too,
00:16:33 because they were able to stave off scoring in bursts
00:16:36 that Indiana was capable of doing.
00:16:37 So when they were cold, like they were in the third quarter,
00:16:41 like you said, John, sort of refocus,
00:16:44 focus on the defense, let your defense turn to offense,
00:16:46 and then the shot started to fall again.
00:16:48 It wasn't like a situation where they were just gonna
00:16:50 go cold and stay cold.
00:16:51 They started off hot too.
00:16:53 I mean, when you start off the way you start off,
00:16:54 you set the tone that way to go up,
00:16:56 they pretty much doubled Dallas up in that first quarter.
00:16:59 And a lot, again, talking about energy,
00:17:01 a lot of that was before Zingas entering the game
00:17:03 at like what, the seven minute mark.
00:17:05 And they just rode that momentum.
00:17:07 I mean, he was just, the block, I mean,
00:17:10 just him getting up and down the court,
00:17:12 I haven't seen anything like that.
00:17:13 I feel like Bill Wallen might have been in the building.
00:17:17 He might have been in the building tonight.
00:17:20 - Yeah, Jimmy, we've got,
00:17:22 between our two YouTube channels right now, Jimmy,
00:17:25 we have somewhere in the neighborhood
00:17:27 of 3,500 people in the room here.
00:17:30 I think this is as good a time as any
00:17:31 for you to tell them about what they can,
00:17:33 what they might be able to.
00:17:35 Jackson, do we have it?
00:17:37 Do we have the lower third?
00:17:38 Here it is.
00:17:40 - Oh yeah, yeah, we have it, we have it.
00:17:41 - So you see Jimmy's hard hat, right?
00:17:43 Why don't you tell them?
00:17:45 Why don't you tell them what's going on, Jimmy?
00:17:47 - Yeah, so I hope I'm not on any sort of delay here
00:17:50 internet wise, but guys, right now we've got to code
00:17:52 three more, you know what that means, three more.
00:17:55 It's for 20% off at shop.clnsmedia.com.
00:17:59 I've been promising hard hats.
00:18:01 I never make a promise I can't deliver.
00:18:04 We have hard hats for sale right now.
00:18:07 Pictures. - What?
00:18:08 - Pictures of what the hard hat looks like.
00:18:10 Very limited supply of hard hats.
00:18:11 So if you're thinking about getting one,
00:18:13 you need to pull the trigger probably
00:18:15 within the next 10 minutes,
00:18:17 'cause there's not that many of them.
00:18:18 We hope to have more later on in the series,
00:18:21 but this is more of just like a toss it out there,
00:18:23 see if people are interested.
00:18:25 The hard hats are for sale.
00:18:26 They were carefully and like very much love
00:18:32 and care put together.
00:18:34 We had to design them, we had to put the decals on them.
00:18:37 Shout out to Joe, who's hard at work right now in the lab,
00:18:41 putting them together.
00:18:42 These are real hard hats.
00:18:44 They're not like little toys,
00:18:45 like that you'd buy at like iParty.
00:18:46 These are real hard hats, guys.
00:18:48 So if you're thinking about getting one,
00:18:50 if you want to get fired up for the playoffs,
00:18:51 you've got three more wins to go.
00:18:53 These are gonna actually ship tomorrow, I am told.
00:18:57 So if you buy them tonight, they'll ship tomorrow.
00:19:00 And hopefully, I'm not gonna say
00:19:01 they're gonna get there for game two,
00:19:02 but they're probably gonna get there,
00:19:04 depending on where you live,
00:19:05 somewhere between game two and game three.
00:19:07 So that's my spiel.
00:19:08 Hard hats are in the merch store.
00:19:09 Not just hard hats, we've got phenomenal tees,
00:19:12 we've got Garner Report logo tees,
00:19:13 we've got backpacks, we've got mugs, we've got--
00:19:16 - We've got some hoodies in there too.
00:19:17 - We've got bucket hats, we've got hoodies,
00:19:19 we've got it all.
00:19:20 - We lost 200 viewers, all right, moving on.
00:19:23 - Phenomenal hats, bucket hats are in there.
00:19:27 - We gotta go, moving on.
00:19:29 Back to the game, but yes, anyway, go use that once in a time.
00:19:33 Maybe it might be sold out.
00:19:34 Use that code three more and head on out there.
00:19:36 So, I mean, Jimmy, I don't wanna take,
00:19:39 we don't wanna take victory laps per se,
00:19:42 but 'cause it's just one game,
00:19:45 but, and I don't expect,
00:19:47 I don't expect it's gonna be like this,
00:19:51 but like, I wanna take a victory lap, Jimmy,
00:19:53 because I wanna say--
00:19:54 - Honestly, George, it's sold, sorry.
00:19:57 - I wanna say what I've wanted to say the whole time,
00:19:59 I'm like, which is kinda like,
00:20:01 give me a fucking break with Dallas.
00:20:03 Like, I'm not, I'm not,
00:20:07 I'm not like, I'm not an anti ESPN,
00:20:11 I hate, you know, like, oh, the disrespect thing.
00:20:15 I don't think it's disrespect.
00:20:17 I think it's, like I said, I think it was boredom.
00:20:20 I think it was that the Celtics, to no fault of their own,
00:20:22 had an easy path to the playoffs.
00:20:24 And I think it's so easy and lazy almost to be like,
00:20:27 I don't think they're that good because it was boring.
00:20:30 They were so good all year in such a ridiculous,
00:20:34 historic way that you get bored with it.
00:20:37 And then you watch them fumble around a little bit,
00:20:40 and not eviscerate a couple of teams
00:20:42 that you think they should have,
00:20:43 and, well, they could've lost a couple of those games
00:20:45 against it, I get it.
00:20:47 It's a really easy, lazy thing to say.
00:20:49 I never got it, and like I said,
00:20:51 is I'm not ready to bury the Mavericks altogether,
00:20:54 but like, if they, if this,
00:20:56 if Dallas played Boston in the first round,
00:21:00 if they were in the same conference,
00:21:02 would you be like, oh, oh, that's, they're scary.
00:21:05 No, you'd be like, they're gonna,
00:21:07 they'll whip them maybe five or six,
00:21:08 and then move on to the next thing.
00:21:10 That's how you would've felt about it.
00:21:11 So I felt like, I feel like you created,
00:21:14 this Dallas monster was created.
00:21:16 And look, we could regret saying this right now,
00:21:18 and this could be freezing cold takes pretty soon,
00:21:21 you know, but like, I never got it.
00:21:24 I never got it.
00:21:26 I never got it.
00:21:28 I respect, I think they played really good defense.
00:21:31 I don't think they played an offense like the Celtics.
00:21:33 They really did not at any point in time during the playoffs.
00:21:38 I think, you know, the Celtics have the type of defense
00:21:41 that can absolutely, absolutely,
00:21:44 not neutralize, but slow down what Dallas does best.
00:21:49 And so it didn't make sense to me.
00:21:51 I was like, if you pick the final four teams
00:21:53 when they were in the semis,
00:21:54 we all, like, it's Dallas.
00:21:56 Like, Dallas is the matchup here.
00:21:58 I would rather play them than Minnesota and OKC and Denver.
00:22:02 So I never got where it all came from.
00:22:05 We'll see what happens here in game two
00:22:06 and what type of adjustments are made.
00:22:08 But as I said, that was kind of my feeling going in.
00:22:10 I didn't fully understand it.
00:22:12 We're gonna put up Joe Mazzuola real quick.
00:22:13 Hear what Joe has to say about the win.
00:22:15 - Just thought it gave us the best chance to win.
00:22:17 And it was great on both ends of the floor.
00:22:20 Defensive execution, game plan,
00:22:22 playing for a spot in the offensive end,
00:22:24 being physical and making plays on both ends of the floor.
00:22:27 So I thought he played great.
00:22:29 And, you know, that's the KP that helped us
00:22:32 get to where we are today.
00:22:34 - Okay, poor Zing is quick.
00:22:38 People are saying I'm looking over my shoulder.
00:22:40 I'm like Joe Mazzuola.
00:22:41 I don't like having my back to shit right now.
00:22:43 But this is the only way I can,
00:22:45 this is the only way I can set up.
00:22:46 - A lot of people don't like your take,
00:22:47 so you should be looking over your shoulder.
00:22:50 - Well, here's the thing though,
00:22:51 about what Joe has to say.
00:22:53 - The Dallas one?
00:22:54 - Although the reason why I think the Celtics,
00:22:57 you know, catch way more, you know,
00:23:00 negative national, you know, takes is because
00:23:04 they're not the sexiest team out there.
00:23:07 People love what Luka does.
00:23:08 People love with, you know, what Anthony Edwards does,
00:23:11 you know, in Minnesota.
00:23:12 But the Celtics, they've got a great player in Tatum,
00:23:15 but they've got a lot of really good players.
00:23:16 And they play as a team.
00:23:18 They win as a team and not one individual leads the way.
00:23:21 And that's just doesn't make for great discourse,
00:23:24 particularly when you beat teams
00:23:26 the way the Celtics have this year.
00:23:27 I mean, they beat not one, not two,
00:23:29 but three different teams by 50 or more points.
00:23:31 That doesn't happen.
00:23:33 It's never happened in the NBA.
00:23:35 And so to me, the Celtics,
00:23:36 they're a victim of being a balanced,
00:23:39 top tier elite team at both ends of the floor.
00:23:42 And when you get to this stage
00:23:43 and you're playing a team like Dallas,
00:23:46 you start to see, to John's point,
00:23:48 I don't know if this game would have a different outcome
00:23:52 if this were game one of the first round
00:23:54 versus game one of the NBA finals.
00:23:55 I think we're still looking at them up 1-0
00:23:57 in a game that they dominated.
00:23:59 That's where they are right now.
00:24:01 And it's not the sexiest topic, but it's real.
00:24:04 That's just who they are.
00:24:06 - Yeah. And go ahead, Jimmy.
00:24:08 Feel good about stuff?
00:24:10 - No, I just wanted to let everybody know
00:24:11 the hard hats just sold out.
00:24:13 So thank you guys so much.
00:24:15 That's unbelievable.
00:24:16 That is actually unbelievable.
00:24:18 - Are you serious?
00:24:19 - I'm dead serious.
00:24:20 I have the Shopify live next to me and it was unreal.
00:24:23 So first of all, thank you guys for the support.
00:24:25 - Wow.
00:24:26 - I appreciate it.
00:24:27 Second of all, we are going to have more.
00:24:29 So if you didn't get it, your hands on the first go around,
00:24:34 we're going to have more.
00:24:35 I can't tell you exactly when,
00:24:36 but we're going to have more of this playoff series.
00:24:39 Stay tuned.
00:24:41 The announcement comes on the show.
00:24:43 You got to watch the show to know when they go live.
00:24:45 Also guys, half you guys didn't use the discount code.
00:24:47 Like help us help you.
00:24:49 - That's because they were in a freaking hurry, Jimmy.
00:24:52 (laughing)
00:24:54 - Put the discount code.
00:24:55 You got to get the hat.
00:24:57 Damn.
00:24:58 - That's too funny.
00:24:59 - Well done, Jimmy.
00:25:00 - Well done.
00:25:01 - Yeah, we're good.
00:25:02 Anyways, I want to, that's it.
00:25:04 No more hard hat talk.
00:25:05 John.
00:25:06 - No more hard hats.
00:25:07 Yes, sir.
00:25:07 - What was, were you sitting near Bobby
00:25:11 or were you sitting with any of the jokes?
00:25:13 What were they thinking?
00:25:14 What's everyone's vibes during this game?
00:25:17 - 'Cause I wasn't really locked on a Twitter as much
00:25:18 'cause I was watching the game.
00:25:19 So I didn't get the play-by-play from those guys much.
00:25:22 - Bobby kept looking over at the bench to see if,
00:25:25 you know, what the substitution patterns would be.
00:25:27 And he was a little sad.
00:25:28 - Yeah, I can see that.
00:25:31 By the fourth quarter.
00:25:32 - Is that Luke?
00:25:33 No, it's not Luke.
00:25:34 It's not Luke.
00:25:35 (laughing)
00:25:38 No, I mean, Bobby and I were really impressed
00:25:41 with the defense,
00:25:43 just the way that the Celtics were switching all game.
00:25:45 That's why they won this game here.
00:25:48 They, you know, they just did such a good job,
00:25:53 such a good job with it.
00:25:54 And they just made 'em,
00:25:56 it just made 'em uncomfortable, the whole game.
00:26:01 They never got into a rhythm and you love to see it.
00:26:03 We didn't talk about it, but like, and I'll say it.
00:26:07 I thought the Kyrie chanting was like.
00:26:11 - Oh yeah, tell me about that.
00:26:12 Not as strong as.
00:26:13 - It wasn't as like kind of.
00:26:15 - It was what I expected.
00:26:17 It was perfunctory.
00:26:18 You know, it was just,
00:26:20 just 'cause. - It was there.
00:26:22 - 'Cause we're supposed to.
00:26:24 - Too many suits in the building?
00:26:26 Not enough real fans?
00:26:27 - Like I said, it faded, but you know what though?
00:26:30 Where it grew was him struggling.
00:26:32 And the more he struggled, the more people got into it
00:26:34 because it was like, maybe Kyrie does suck, you know?
00:26:37 - Was he breathing through it?
00:26:40 - Yeah.
00:26:41 - That was what he said he was gonna do, breathe through it.
00:26:43 - Just breathe. - Yeah, just breathe.
00:26:45 Just Kyrie being Kyrie.
00:26:47 I wanna double down.
00:26:48 - I mean, if you go back, if we did the stats here,
00:26:51 Kyrie's last X-File against herself,
00:26:53 it's pretty grisly, but yeah, go ahead, Jimmy.
00:26:55 - No, I just wanted to double down.
00:26:56 I mean, all week, and I put this in my prediction.
00:27:00 All week I was trying to sell myself on Dallas,
00:27:03 you know, to the point where.
00:27:05 - Why?
00:27:06 - Just to like, 'cause I had so many people telling me
00:27:10 that like I need, hey, there he is.
00:27:12 There's Jelso in the back.
00:27:13 - I got nervous.
00:27:16 I thought he was behind me.
00:27:17 This is that CIA shit.
00:27:19 - Right, I mean, listen, it is just one.
00:27:23 I understand that it's just one game,
00:27:24 but I wanna put, not just like,
00:27:26 there were a lot of experts, quote unquote,
00:27:28 talking head experts that had Dallas in this series.
00:27:31 And I'm not saying it's over, but if you're those people,
00:27:34 you have to be wondering what you saw differently.
00:27:37 I mean, Bobby Marks, Mavericks in six, Dave McMenamin.
00:27:41 He's a Mavericks guy, Mavericks in six.
00:27:43 Who else here that sticks out to me?
00:27:46 I guess I don't know some of these names.
00:27:51 Israel Gutierrez, Mavericks in six.
00:27:53 Chris Herring, Mavericks in six.
00:27:55 Tim Legler, Mavericks in seven.
00:27:57 So Zach Lowe had Celtics in six.
00:27:59 He's the Celtics guy.
00:28:01 But I mean, there's a lot of people
00:28:03 who did not give the Celtics the credit they deserve
00:28:05 for a team that was the best team in the league all year.
00:28:08 Right, I mean, basically from start to finish,
00:28:11 whatever metric you wanna use,
00:28:13 the Celtics were the best team in the league all year.
00:28:14 They came into the playoffs.
00:28:15 Yeah, they had a bit of a cupcake schedule,
00:28:17 but they treated it that way.
00:28:19 They took care of business.
00:28:20 They handily beat those teams
00:28:23 that they should have handily beat.
00:28:24 So on one hand, while it's like,
00:28:26 you wanna roll your eyes a little bit
00:28:27 at like when the guys in the team talk about disrespect
00:28:29 and lack of respect, you almost gotta kinda
00:28:33 gotta side with them a little bit here
00:28:35 because what else is there, what else can they do?
00:28:38 What else, they're getting punished for past seasons
00:28:42 with different rosters and they're getting punished
00:28:44 for the teams that they played.
00:28:46 So at this point, okay, now they're playing a Dallas team
00:28:50 that for all intents and purposes, nobody really,
00:28:53 listen, Dallas had a good second half of the year
00:28:55 and obviously they deserve to be here.
00:28:56 But to your point, John, if it was Celtics first,
00:28:59 Dallas in the first round,
00:29:00 or at some point in the regular season or whenever,
00:29:04 overwhelmingly it's gonna be the Celtics.
00:29:06 Now, it's funny because Vegas-wise,
00:29:09 they have the Celtics as a pretty heavy favorite
00:29:11 at minus 260, but there's so many people
00:29:13 who try to make it seem like it's a lot closer than that.
00:29:16 - Here's where people didn't read the room right on that,
00:29:21 is it's like all the money's coming in on Dallas
00:29:26 and there's so much Dallas chatter
00:29:28 and Vegas is sitting back like,
00:29:30 yep, keep that out of Mavericks.
00:29:35 - But they made the Celtics such an unappetizing bet
00:29:40 at minus 260 where I feel like maybe they-
00:29:41 - Jimmy, is it strange?
00:29:44 This is where we're gonna kind of talk about,
00:29:47 this stuff's gonna come up over and over and over again,
00:29:50 but like how many content houses right now
00:29:52 are heavily funded by betting sites?
00:29:55 You know, and you're gonna start to wonder,
00:29:57 it's like, oh, hey, why is everyone putting so much juice
00:30:00 on the Mavs right now?
00:30:01 - Interesting, interesting.
00:30:04 So I have my conspiracy theories, but like, I really-
00:30:08 - Yeah, exactly.
00:30:09 - At the end of the day, I don't think it's that as much
00:30:11 as I really do think it's boredom.
00:30:12 - The antennas are out for June right now.
00:30:14 Why would those predictions come in, right?
00:30:18 - Yeah, I might get murdered for that.
00:30:22 No, but I mean, all of that said, why is that?
00:30:27 So it's interesting to me,
00:30:32 but I really think the majority of it was straight up boredom
00:30:35 like-
00:30:36 - Yeah, we gotta make something out of this.
00:30:38 Yeah, exactly.
00:30:39 - Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
00:30:40 So we're gonna keep talking about it.
00:30:42 We're gonna be joined by Bobby.
00:30:43 Nick is setting up.
00:30:44 He's gonna jump on the court.
00:30:46 I may relocate, it's getting busy around me
00:30:48 and Sherrod's already in this media room.
00:30:49 We don't wanna have too many echoes.
00:30:51 We wanna tell you guys a little bit about

00:31:23 and he did barely, but he got it.
00:31:27 What did he end up with, 16?
00:31:30 - Yeah, I think it was 16.

00:32:11 I was looking an hour or two before,
00:32:13 I'm not sure what it got down to right before,
00:32:14 was about 670, 680.
00:32:17 The hottest tickets gonna be game five, okay?
00:32:20 There's no question about that
00:32:21 because when you're already winning, you're worried.
00:32:24 When you're up one, oh, you're starting to look at like,
00:32:27 am I gonna be there for a clinch?
00:32:29 And which game is that gonna be?
00:32:30 And if you're thinking it's not gonna be seven,
00:32:32 five might be your spot here.
00:32:34 Like Jimmy and I said, Celtics in five.
00:32:36 So again, you wanna get to the NBA finals game time,

00:33:19 Terms to apply, once again, download the game time app,
00:33:22 create an account, use the code CLNS,
00:33:24 $20 off your first purchase.
00:33:27 Now, I mean, let's jump ahead.
00:33:29 I got a lot of commotion around me.
00:33:30 Sorry, guys.
00:33:31 Is it over?
00:33:32 It's not that loud.
00:33:33 Is it over?
00:33:34 Is it over, Jimmy?
00:33:35 It's not over.
00:33:36 What is Dallas doing coming back?
00:33:37 What is Dallas doing coming back for real?
00:33:39 - I'd feel like an a-hole saying it's over,
00:33:41 but I mean, what do they do coming back?
00:33:43 I mean, now that they have the Porzingis film
00:33:46 and they know what the unicorn's capable of,
00:33:48 they have to figure out a way to limit him.
00:33:49 He was just everywhere.
00:33:50 He was the impactor in this game.
00:33:52 I mean, the fact that he was able to come in and,
00:33:54 I mean, it was close to a tie game at that point,
00:33:58 I think, when he came in,
00:33:59 and he just completely punched them in the mouth.
00:34:01 So the first thing they have to do is watch the film
00:34:03 and figure out how he was able to get up and down the court
00:34:05 the way he was.
00:34:06 Then they have to figure out a way to get Luca and Kyrie
00:34:09 in the mismatches that they want to get them in.
00:34:11 I mean, that's the name of the game in this series.
00:34:13 I thought it was going to be a purely ISO series.
00:34:16 It wasn't the case.
00:34:17 It wasn't really, it wasn't the case tonight,
00:34:19 but their only hope is to get Luca and Kyrie
00:34:22 to combine for 60 plus points.
00:34:24 So however they can figure out a way to do that
00:34:26 is their only chance of winning,
00:34:28 and they probably need even more than that.
00:34:29 So again, trying to get Porzingis and Horford
00:34:33 in some sort of switch,
00:34:34 but Porzingis is a lot more mobile
00:34:37 than I think any of us thought he was going to be.
00:34:39 So I don't know what the answer is for them.
00:34:41 - That's the problem, Jimmy.
00:34:43 There's not a mismatch that they can look at and say,
00:34:45 yup, that's going to get us buckets.
00:34:47 That's a big problem.
00:34:50 - I think the one thing you'll see them do
00:34:52 a little bit differently doing game two
00:34:53 is I think they're going to adopt
00:34:54 what they did in the second half more so.
00:34:56 And that is crowd Porzingis as much as you can,
00:34:59 whether he's behind a three point line on the block,
00:35:01 but make sure you stay, keep someone attached to his body
00:35:05 and force him to be more of a facilitator
00:35:07 as opposed to a guy that can just catch and shoot.
00:35:10 That I think is one way that you can try to address
00:35:13 the impact that he made.
00:35:15 But to me, the bigger concern if you're Dallas
00:35:18 is that Jason Tatum driving kick game.
00:35:20 I mean, he was getting to the middle of the paint
00:35:22 all game long and Dallas, I think compensated for that
00:35:27 by just trying to take away his ability to finish.
00:35:29 And all he did was just kick it out to open guys.
00:35:32 So Dallas has to figure out those two things
00:35:36 to really give themselves a shot at going back to Dallas
00:35:39 with distinct title at one game apiece.
00:35:41 I don't think they can deal with,
00:35:43 I don't think they can adequately address
00:35:45 both of those things.
00:35:46 One of them maybe, but not both.
00:35:48 And that's the problem.
00:35:49 - So that's the problem, the problem is the problems.
00:35:54 This is, that's the thing, you know,
00:35:56 like Dallas's problem is all of the problems
00:36:00 that the Celtics present.
00:36:01 No, I'm not ready for Nick.
00:36:03 I put Nick on.
00:36:04 - Speaking of problems.
00:36:05 - Who did that, you Jimmy?
00:36:06 - I didn't, my hands have been up here.
00:36:09 - Do I sound okay, Los Angeles?
00:36:11 - You think I put Nick on?
00:36:12 - He doesn't even know he's on.
00:36:12 - I'm gonna take him on.
00:36:14 - I know I'm on, I know I'm on.
00:36:16 I didn't do it, I don't even know how to work
00:36:18 during the stream or whatever it's called.
00:36:21 I'm here and I won't interrupt you anymore, go ahead.
00:36:24 Take me off the air.
00:36:26 - No, if you're here, if you're,
00:36:30 it's not here 'cause you're pretty, Nick.
00:36:31 You're here to talk, so yap it up.
00:36:33 - Your face is out of the, out of the--
00:36:37 - What a game, I'm sweating like a baby.
00:36:40 - Is that a sweating boomer I see?
00:36:42 - It's like I just played 48 minutes.
00:36:45 - You're black.
00:36:46 - I looked like Guillermo out there.
00:36:48 - Nick was not on a minutes restriction tonight
00:36:50 as you guys can tell.
00:36:52 - And I'll tell you, even though he may have been
00:36:54 on a minutes restriction, Chris Tompkins
00:36:57 was in this, guys.
00:36:59 Wow, John, you looked right at me
00:37:01 when we saw the first zone.
00:37:03 Okay, maybe he's okay, maybe he's okay.
00:37:06 Let's see how he responds after,
00:37:09 how many minutes did he play, 20 minutes?
00:37:11 20 points, 20 minutes, is that right?
00:37:14 (indistinct)
00:37:16 Can you guys hear me?
00:37:18 - Yeah, we can hear you.
00:37:19 - Nobody, everyone pretend you can't hear Nick.
00:37:22 - Nick, are you on?
00:37:23 - Nick, 21 minutes was the final.
00:37:26 - 21.
00:37:27 - 21 minutes, 20 points.
00:37:28 And Tatum, not scoring, having a lot of turnovers,
00:37:32 but that penetration and kicking out to the perimeter,
00:37:37 unbelievable.
00:37:38 And Al Horford's defense,
00:37:41 you didn't see a lot of the pick and roll
00:37:43 that I thought we would from Dallas.
00:37:45 And, wow, that's bright.
00:37:47 And I know eventually we are going to see that,
00:37:50 but overall, what a game.
00:37:53 If you look at the box score too,
00:37:54 I mean, Dallas really has nobody but Luka.
00:37:58 Kyrie was getting the business the entire game,
00:38:01 I think he ended up with like six for 20.
00:38:03 I mean, just a great overall way to start the finals.
00:38:07 And if they can carry this in for game two,
00:38:10 it might be over in four or five games.
00:38:12 - Yeah, we got to drop Nick for one second.
00:38:15 We're gonna work on that microphone.
00:38:17 We got to work on the microphone a little bit there.
00:38:19 A little-
00:38:20 - I feel like the mic's picking up from his ears,
00:38:22 from his AirPods maybe.
00:38:24 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:38:25 That might be, it's just a little bit underwater there.
00:38:28 Yeah, so that could be the case.
00:38:30 But, boomer.
00:38:31 - No, there's Nick.
00:38:31 - He'll figure it out in a few hours, I'm sure.
00:38:33 - He owns the company, he'll buy some shit.
00:38:37 - Yeah, just spend money to fix it.
00:38:41 - Yeah.
00:38:42 - No, the one thing that I could make out,
00:38:44 I couldn't make out everything Nick said,
00:38:46 but the one thing that kind of did come across
00:38:48 was the fact that the Mavericks don't really
00:38:51 have any options when you look beyond Kyrie and Luka.
00:38:55 And you look at what, I mean, like Derek Lively,
00:38:58 who was one of the key success stories in their run,
00:39:02 was horrible.
00:39:03 I mean, he had twice as many fouls as points.
00:39:06 And defensively, he just was a non-factor.
00:39:09 We got a little bromance action going on behind me.
00:39:11 Keep it moving, fellas, keep it moving.
00:39:14 There we go.
00:39:15 - Is that Gary?
00:39:17 - No.
00:39:19 Dallas has problems.
00:39:22 I mean, to go back to John,
00:39:23 their problem is that they've got lots of problems
00:39:25 and there's no clear-cut solution
00:39:27 on how they're gonna address any of it.
00:39:29 - Oh, good.
00:39:30 He's back.
00:39:30 - Nick, let's hear from you again.
00:39:32 - Okay, so basically everything I said there was,
00:39:35 Kwarzyngis, 21 minutes, so efficient.
00:39:39 I guess we could check that box and say, he's okay.
00:39:43 Hopefully he responds well.
00:39:45 The other side, Tatum, a lot of turnovers,
00:39:47 but man, he could get into the lane at any second
00:39:51 and he's popping out for three-point shots,
00:39:53 passing out to the three-point shooters.
00:39:55 And then Al Horford's defense.
00:39:57 I don't know if you guys discussed this yet,
00:39:59 but the old man was moving.
00:40:01 He was moving tonight.
00:40:03 All in all, you just saw that,
00:40:04 besides that little wall in the third quarter,
00:40:07 the Celtics had that,
00:40:08 the style of play that is indicative of 20-plus point wins
00:40:13 that they've had all season.
00:40:14 Dallas, if they don't find more scoring besides Luka,
00:40:18 they're gonna be in big trouble
00:40:19 because Kyrie was pretty much booed out of the arena,
00:40:23 was he?
00:40:24 Like six for 20 something.
00:40:25 And if the Celtics-
00:40:27 - He was six for 19.
00:40:28 - Six for 19.
00:40:29 You know, what's that?
00:40:30 30%, Jimmy?
00:40:31 I suck at math.
00:40:33 By the way, guys, do I look good?
00:40:36 No, I'm just kidding.
00:40:36 I'm kidding.
00:40:37 I'm just kidding.
00:40:38 All in all, I gotta say,
00:40:41 the biggest thing for me is I haven't been in TD Garden
00:40:44 covering a game.
00:40:45 Now, I've been here as a fan,
00:40:46 haven't since opening night two years ago.
00:40:49 Before that, I mean,
00:40:52 I've covered 10 years worth of basketball here.
00:40:56 I'd never seen this crowd this pumped up.
00:40:59 Like it was truly the NBA finals.
00:41:02 God bless John Zanis,
00:41:04 who got all the credentials approved.
00:41:06 - Oh yeah, what a great guy.
00:41:08 Rub it in.
00:41:08 Rub it in some more.
00:41:09 - Except Jimmy's.
00:41:10 Except Jimmy's.
00:41:11 - Give a round of applause for John.
00:41:14 - I think the fans can taste it.
00:41:15 I think they recognize that this is a moment
00:41:19 that you need to cherish
00:41:21 because this team is on the cusp of doing
00:41:23 what they literally set out to do from day one.
00:41:26 And they've checked up all the boxes to get here
00:41:29 and they're facing a team
00:41:31 that if we're being honest and candid,
00:41:32 this is of the final four teams out of less,
00:41:35 this is probably the one team
00:41:36 that they match up best against
00:41:38 in terms of being able to dispatch of them quickly.
00:41:41 They're a two man team
00:41:42 and the rest of the guys around,
00:41:44 not only are they,
00:41:45 I don't think as talented as the Celtics,
00:41:48 complimentary pieces,
00:41:50 but they don't benefit of experience
00:41:52 because often that experience can get you over the hump
00:41:54 if you're playing with guys with more talent.
00:41:56 So they're young, they have potential,
00:41:59 but they're just not,
00:41:59 I just don't think they're ready.
00:42:01 And I think the sad part for Dallas is that
00:42:04 if you don't get it this year,
00:42:06 you're probably not gonna get it anytime soon
00:42:07 because the teams that are still in the midst out West
00:42:12 are probably gonna be better than you a year from now.
00:42:15 So there's a lot of,
00:42:16 this is one of those things
00:42:18 where I give the Celtics credit for recognizing
00:42:21 not to play with your food in game one.
00:42:23 They, I mean, they had that little stretch
00:42:26 in the third quarter
00:42:27 where they didn't look like themselves.
00:42:28 But for the most part, at 48 minutes,
00:42:30 they probably played a good 43, 44 minutes out there.
00:42:35 - But Sherrod, Sherrod, how about,
00:42:37 not to change the subject,
00:42:39 but the minute that poor Zingas showed that he could move,
00:42:41 the whole garden like exhaled collectively.
00:42:45 And then the real, real cheers and chants started coming.
00:42:50 I think everybody exhaled
00:42:52 when they saw that poor Zingas was kind of,
00:42:55 I don't know if he was teasing with us
00:42:56 or just needed to get out there
00:42:59 and play to feel like he could play,
00:43:01 but damn, he could play.
00:43:02 I mean, he was just so disruptive around the rim,
00:43:06 which that's what you want.
00:43:08 - And I think Dallas had this,
00:43:10 I think Dallas was just basically trying to see early on
00:43:12 was, okay, let's see what you got.
00:43:13 Can you make a shot?
00:43:14 And he did over and over again.
00:43:17 And the mistake that they made was that
00:43:18 they allowed him to get into a flow and a rhythm
00:43:21 and he just didn't cool off until the second half.
00:43:23 But like I was saying earlier, though,
00:43:24 I think the one adjustment Dallas will make
00:43:26 is that they will have a body up on poor Zingas
00:43:29 pretty much every time he touches the ball.
00:43:31 So I don't expect him to necessarily have
00:43:34 the kind of early scoring output that we saw in game one,
00:43:38 but I do anticipate that that's gonna open things up
00:43:41 for Tatum and Brown and Drew Holiday and those guys
00:43:44 to get to the basket or knock down mid-range shots
00:43:48 and be impactful offensively
00:43:50 because of the attention that poor Zingas
00:43:51 is gonna be drawing.
00:43:52 That's gonna keep that big
00:43:54 who normally is around the basket
00:43:56 and protects the rim away from it.
00:43:58 - Let me ask you about this.
00:44:01 After what you saw tonight,
00:44:03 from poor Zingas and just overall the Celtics,
00:44:07 you put poor Zingas in the starting lineup for game two,
00:44:11 do you keep coming off the bench again?
00:44:13 - Such a good question.
00:44:14 Coming off the bench,
00:44:15 I'm gonna keep him coming off the bench.
00:44:17 I just think that right now you look at,
00:44:20 I mean, think about it.
00:44:21 When he came in for Al, Al had like, I think six points.
00:44:24 So that's pretty much what Al was averaging
00:44:28 when he was coming off the bench.
00:44:29 And you got that in his first stint.
00:44:31 So I wanna keep that going.
00:44:33 And Al, I think from a defensive standpoint,
00:44:36 he takes away a lot of the stuff that Kyrie
00:44:39 and then Luca wanna do when they get the switch,
00:44:41 because if poor Zingas is with that starting unit,
00:44:43 they're gonna immediately try to do some pick and roll switch
00:44:46 and go at him.
00:44:47 You try to do that with Al,
00:44:48 Al is a little bit better on those switches
00:44:50 than poor Zingas is.
00:44:51 And so I like having him come off the bench.
00:44:54 And frankly, if he's not broken,
00:44:56 what are you, he's still gonna wanna play more medicine
00:44:58 now at the end of the day.
00:45:00 If it's a close game,
00:45:01 he's probably gonna be on the floor instead of Al.
00:45:03 So it really doesn't, I think,
00:45:05 and it's that old coaching adage
00:45:07 where it's not about who starts, it's who finishes.
00:45:09 I think this is an example when that makes a lot of sense.
00:45:13 And poor Zingas, he's not tripping.
00:45:15 He's three wins away from being a championship.
00:45:17 So whether he's starting, coming off the bench,
00:45:19 he just wants that chip.
00:45:20 - Yeah, that ring looks the same on the finger.
00:45:22 Nick, boss man, thoughts?
00:45:26 - Yeah, man, I mean, I think he comes off the bench too.
00:45:29 Why disrupt good rhythm?
00:45:31 Not only that, but Al, I mean, Al,
00:45:33 his whole career has been a starter.
00:45:35 I think he's been great off the bench this year,
00:45:37 but he's played even better when he started.
00:45:40 - Nice little full circle moment for Al, huh?
00:45:42 You know, sacrificing the starting lineup spot
00:45:45 and then getting the call in the NBA finals like that.
00:45:48 And a lot of double big tonight,
00:45:49 and that rotation allows them to play together
00:45:52 for a couple minutes as well.
00:45:53 So I think all that combined, you're gonna see,
00:45:56 why would they not, why would Joe switch anything up
00:45:59 that's working right now?
00:46:01 If you're gonna change it,
00:46:02 wait till they lose a game or whatever.
00:46:04 - Yeah, we got you.
00:46:05 - Like where's Waldo, but it's Dennis in the TD Garden.
00:46:08 Where are you now?
00:46:08 - Where is John?
00:46:09 - Every time you look up,
00:46:10 he's just like in a different section.
00:46:12 - He's got a different, is that a green screen, John?
00:46:14 Where are you?
00:46:15 - Real quick, John, before we switch it,
00:46:17 I do wanna cut to this Porzingis soundbite
00:46:20 'cause we were just talking about Porzingis.
00:46:22 - That's what I'm going to.
00:46:23 And also, I also totally disagree.
00:46:26 If Porzingis is ready, he starts.
00:46:28 Don't be silly.
00:46:30 - You can't go to a night. - Well, he was ready tonight,
00:46:31 John, what are you talking about?
00:46:32 I mean, I think he was ready.
00:46:33 - No, the reason he came off the, first of all,
00:46:37 they lied to us again.
00:46:38 He was on a minute's restriction.
00:46:40 (laughing)
00:46:41 Well, he was on a minute's restriction.
00:46:43 He was there to play. - He was.
00:46:44 - Five, four, we said it, like hockey shifts.
00:46:47 He played four or five minute shifts and that was it.
00:46:50 So he wanted to, and so that's, they wanted to manage it.
00:46:54 So they moved him to the bench
00:46:55 because they knew he was limited in those minutes
00:46:58 because they wanted to set their rotations that way.
00:47:01 If the restrictions come off
00:47:03 and Porzingis truly goes to 30 minutes a game,
00:47:05 you're starting him 'cause then it's silly not to.
00:47:08 So the only reason to play him off the bench
00:47:09 is if you're planning on keeping his minutes low.
00:47:11 If he's going, if he's ready to go,
00:47:13 he's fucking, he's Chris Jabs Porzingis.
00:47:15 He starts, like it's not.
00:47:17 Let's not overthink this.
00:47:19 - But John, but that point that you made
00:47:21 about if he's still on a minute's restriction,
00:47:23 that's why I'm saying I still think
00:47:24 he's gonna come off the bench a game too.
00:47:26 'Cause I still think his minutes are gonna be
00:47:29 in that 20, 25 range.
00:47:30 And if that's the case,
00:47:31 you're better off having him come off the bench.
00:47:34 But if he's 100%, if he's 100%
00:47:37 and can go 30, 35, 40 minutes if necessary,
00:47:40 then yeah, you put him out there as your first group.
00:47:42 But I don't think he's there.
00:47:43 - Why are people mad at me that I wanna start
00:47:45 the Celtics second or third best player?
00:47:46 Like what am I?
00:47:47 (laughing)
00:47:48 - Because the risk of a re-injury
00:47:50 is still maybe a possibility with overuses.
00:47:53 - What's wrong with you people?
00:47:54 Like just guys, relax.
00:47:56 - I love when Zanis gets,
00:47:58 he literally goes one-on-one with the chat room
00:48:01 while we're all here.
00:48:02 It's kind of great.
00:48:03 I get such a kick out of this.
00:48:05 - I think there are more people agreeing with him
00:48:07 than he's telling me.
00:48:08 - That's fine.
00:48:09 - A lot of people would want Porzingis to start.
00:48:11 It's just a matter of when or not.
00:48:11 - I just don't know.
00:48:13 Listen, Jimmy, I hate to interrupt you.
00:48:14 I'm sorry.
00:48:15 I actually love to interrupt you.
00:48:16 - I love it too.
00:48:17 - Yeah, I enjoy it a lot.
00:48:18 But I'm just saying,
00:48:18 you won how many straight games right now
00:48:20 in the playoffs?
00:48:21 Eight, nine?
00:48:23 And you're 12, or 13-2 without Porzingis.
00:48:27 Why start him when he's obviously responded
00:48:31 well off the bench?
00:48:32 Let him come in off the bench in game two.
00:48:34 I think until you stumble,
00:48:36 you don't screw with what's working.
00:48:38 - I just think as long as he's only gonna play 25 minutes,
00:48:42 I'm keeping him coming off the bench.
00:48:44 If he's not gonna be able to play a full goal,
00:48:46 then we need to keep him in that 20 to 25 minutes
00:48:49 if you're the boss yourself.
00:48:50 If that's where he's at now--
00:48:51 - I'm on team Sherrod.
00:48:53 Callahan.
00:48:54 Found Andrew Callahan.
00:48:56 - Where's the shot?
00:49:00 - Hey, Andrew, welcome to the--
00:49:01 - This is a watch, bro.
00:49:02 What's going on?
00:49:03 - Welcome to the Garden Report.
00:49:05 It's this thing we do.
00:49:06 - Just following the column,
00:49:07 I thought the pass what we saw Celtics play
00:49:08 in the second quarter was the best I've seen
00:49:10 from them all season.
00:49:10 I think this is the team that we've been waiting for
00:49:13 against proper competition under this kind of pressure,
00:49:16 not knowing how they would react.
00:49:17 It's funny, a game where Tatum shoots six of 16
00:49:20 and has six turnovers,
00:49:21 and you're going,
00:49:21 "This is the best the Celtics have ever looked."
00:49:23 Hasn't been excited for the rest of the finals.
00:49:24 Doesn't mean they win game two.
00:49:26 But that's what you wanna see.
00:49:27 We waited a long time and they're here.
00:49:29 - And now I can leave--
00:49:29 - Who starts, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:49:33 Who starts week one for the Patriots at quarterback?
00:49:36 - Who starts week one for the Patriots at quarterback?
00:49:39 - Come on, guys, I'm here to get away from the Patriots.
00:49:41 You know they're supposed to pick number one next year?
00:49:43 What am I gonna do with myself for 12 months?
00:49:45 I'll probably be back here.
00:49:46 It'll be Jacoby Brissett.
00:49:48 I think he's the right guy to have in there.
00:49:49 A veteran, he's a placeholder, but excellent.
00:49:52 Oh, I'm not gone yet.
00:49:53 Johnny, you don't get to boot me out of this show.
00:49:55 I have an honored guest here, John.
00:49:57 - Man, that was talking Patriots.
00:50:01 - Yeah, I probably just missed every press conference
00:50:03 filing my column for the Herald
00:50:04 because we're still putting out papers in 2024.
00:50:06 Subscribe to the Boston Herald, by the way.
00:50:10 But no, Jacoby Brissett, guy who won the locker room,
00:50:12 leading the offense, knows the offense.
00:50:14 Good, good, somebody is.
00:50:16 But yeah, it's good to see you guys.
00:50:16 See you for game two.
00:50:17 - I can leave now 'cause Callahan
00:50:19 just said everything I wanted to say.
00:50:21 - Thanks, Callahan.
00:50:22 - Anyway-- - You wanted to talk
00:50:23 about Jacoby Brissett, okay.
00:50:25 - By the way, for those-- - I had nothing to say
00:50:26 about the Patriots.
00:50:28 - For those Patriots fans out there,
00:50:30 if you don't subscribe already,
00:50:32 Andrew Callahan, a terrific podcast,
00:50:36 Pat's Interference on the CLNS Media Network.
00:50:39 It's a really good podcast, so check out Andrew.
00:50:41 Let's hear from Chris Stapps and see what he says.
00:50:43 - A little bit of everything, a little bit of everything.
00:50:46 It's tough to not play for a month
00:50:48 and then jump into the highest intensity game in the finals.
00:50:52 It's obviously very tough, you know,
00:50:53 but as I said, I did everything I could
00:50:55 to prepare for this moment mentally.
00:50:58 And then just going out there and playing
00:51:02 instinctually almost, you know, and trusting my body.
00:51:06 And that was it.
00:51:08 As I said, like the support around me was great
00:51:11 to get to this moment.
00:51:12 And now, yeah, we just have to keep going
00:51:15 and take care of business.
00:51:18 - Completely different-- - Keep going,
00:51:21 take care of business.
00:51:23 - Attitude, confidence in his voice today
00:51:27 than what we heard--
00:51:28 - Which again-- - He just dropped
00:51:30 20 points in 21 minutes, Jimmy.
00:51:32 I'll be feeling pretty damn confident too
00:51:33 if I just dropped 20 in 21. - Again, Jimmy,
00:51:35 let me say this.
00:51:36 This leads me to believe slightly
00:51:39 that his concern was genuine.
00:51:42 It wasn't straight up coy.
00:51:43 He's way more ready than we expected.
00:51:45 I was worried that he wasn't gonna be close.
00:51:48 Like that when he was worried,
00:51:49 he was like, "I'm like at 60% guys."
00:51:51 So I do think there was a little bit of trepidation
00:51:53 there stepping out there.
00:51:54 He wasn't sure what was gonna happen for sure.
00:51:57 I actually think somebody put it on my Twitter,
00:51:59 which is perfect way to express it.
00:52:02 Day one press conference for Chris Stapps
00:52:06 when we talked to him at our back center
00:52:07 was like a witness got interrogated by a lawyer
00:52:10 and he just wasn't ready for it.
00:52:12 And then the second one was like with lawyers coaching,
00:52:15 and like he said more of the same,
00:52:16 but like in a more calm way.
00:52:18 But like the first one was legit panic inducing
00:52:21 for a reason.
00:52:22 It was like, "Oh my God."
00:52:24 It's like the 15 second pause to say if he's not in pain.
00:52:28 I was like, "Oh, it's so bad."
00:52:32 - Yeah, he had to like look around.
00:52:34 - He was in the back.
00:52:36 - Why didn't no one tell me that question was coming?
00:52:37 - Tell him you're healthy.
00:52:39 Tell him he can feel no pain.
00:52:41 - It was like Mark McGuire,
00:52:43 like I'm not here to talk about the past.
00:52:45 Like he was like, "I didn't know
00:52:46 it was gonna be like that."
00:52:48 But you can tell, right, Jimmy, you're right.
00:52:53 Totally, his tone there is like, "That was okay.
00:52:56 That was all right.
00:52:56 I'm okay.
00:52:57 I'm all right."
00:52:58 - He needed to see it.
00:52:59 - So he did.
00:53:02 - I wonder how much of that happened throughout his career.
00:53:06 I mean, 'cause it wasn't like he was forced
00:53:08 to come back early for a lot of those seasons
00:53:10 where he was banged up.
00:53:11 But it's like, maybe he just needed a little kick
00:53:13 in the butt.
00:53:14 Get out there, man.
00:53:15 You're fine.
00:53:16 And by the way, we need you.
00:53:18 - It's totally different here, Jimmy.
00:53:19 I mean, this is literally the, this is NBA finals.
00:53:23 This isn't like game 62 or, you know,
00:53:26 the game three of a five game West Coast trip.
00:53:29 This is like the NBA finals.
00:53:30 So I could understand his interpretation,
00:53:33 particularly when you have missed 10 straight games
00:53:36 in the playoffs and the team has looked pretty damn good
00:53:39 in your absence.
00:53:41 So yeah, I get it.
00:53:43 But I think the mistake that Dallas made,
00:53:47 and again, they'll go back and they'll look at the film
00:53:49 and I think they'll see it as that.
00:53:51 They basically dared him to make plays offensively
00:53:54 at the start of the game.
00:53:55 And then after a couple went down,
00:53:57 they were just like, "Oh shit.
00:53:59 What are we going to do now?"
00:54:00 - You know the rule, Sherrod.
00:54:02 There's no, you know, the whole no cheering
00:54:04 in the press box thing,
00:54:05 which has obviously gone a little bit out the window
00:54:07 with, you know, kind of, you know,
00:54:09 the way media has changed over the last few,
00:54:11 it doesn't matter.
00:54:13 What I will say this is, it was impossible
00:54:17 not to like kind of smile and giggle and like gasp
00:54:22 at what Porzingis was doing out there.
00:54:25 It was, it seemed surreal.
00:54:27 Like it wasn't supposed to happen.
00:54:29 It was just everything happening all at once.
00:54:34 And I don't think anybody thought that type of impact
00:54:37 was going to happen that quickly.
00:54:39 I mean, it was just that series of plays, you know,
00:54:42 with stepping into 27 foot threes
00:54:44 and like challenging at the rim.
00:54:46 - 'Cause like with each play he was getting stronger.
00:54:49 - But it was like, it was legit.
00:54:51 It was like, almost like he took his entire unicorn resume
00:54:55 and he's like, I'm going to show you this and this
00:54:57 and this and this and this and this.
00:54:59 And this is what makes me a unicorn.
00:55:01 And he did like all in one shot.
00:55:03 And it was like, not only like one, the fear was health,
00:55:06 but like, I think what a lot of people forgot
00:55:09 being so concerned with health with Chris Dapps was,
00:55:11 holy crap, he's really good at basketball.
00:55:13 Remember when he first,
00:55:14 remember the first game he played this year
00:55:16 and everybody was like, oh, this is different.
00:55:20 And it looked, and it was just that,
00:55:22 it took you back to that early in the season feeling
00:55:25 where you're like, oh, everything is different now.
00:55:28 And that's what it felt like again.
00:55:31 And so I think anybody watching
00:55:33 with whatever trepidation you have,
00:55:35 having watched the Celtics in years past
00:55:36 or in some of the early, in some moments and instances
00:55:40 in the early rounds of the playoffs,
00:55:41 I think all of that was wiped away
00:55:44 with what Porzingis was doing there.
00:55:45 And you could see it on everybody's face
00:55:47 as they were watching it.
00:55:47 And they were like, oh shit, oh shit.
00:55:51 It was like that.
00:55:52 - Yeah.
00:55:53 - That was the vibe and you could see it among media.
00:55:57 And again, where we're sitting,
00:55:58 we're all around tons of fans too.
00:56:00 So obviously that was just,
00:56:01 that was the vibe I got while I was here.
00:56:03 Everybody was thinking and feeling
00:56:05 the same exact thing at the same time.
00:56:08 - Yeah, I mean, remember when our good friend Isaiah Thomas
00:56:12 was doing some pretty amazing things,
00:56:13 dealing with obviously different type of-
00:56:16 - Yeah, great vibe.
00:56:17 - You're doing brother.
00:56:19 And that was a vibe that you got
00:56:21 when you watch Porzingis just absolutely killing it up.
00:56:24 It's as much as you as an opponent,
00:56:27 when you don't want your opponent to do well,
00:56:30 it's hard not to want to see that guy do well.
00:56:33 And Porzingis, again, he reminded us why
00:56:38 he was such a sought after guy.
00:56:39 And then how for most of the season,
00:56:42 we've been building him up as that X-Factor for the Celtics.
00:56:45 The guy that was gonna cause major problems.
00:56:49 - The elevator.
00:56:51 Can we hear, go ahead, follow up,
00:56:52 and then we're gonna hear from Jaylen Edwards.
00:56:53 - I'm gonna follow up just real quick.
00:56:54 This has to be one of,
00:56:55 maybe probably the greatest night of Porzingis' life.
00:56:58 Especially, certainly professional basketball career.
00:57:01 I can't speak to his personal life,
00:57:03 but this is a guy that was drafted
00:57:05 with obviously a lot of high expectations.
00:57:07 Got dragged through the mud in New York,
00:57:09 got dragged through the mud in Dallas.
00:57:12 Now he's playing against his Dallas.
00:57:13 He went to Washington,
00:57:15 kind of a forgotten player at that point.
00:57:17 Had a great season,
00:57:18 but on a franchise that was going nowhere fast.
00:57:21 This guy has had to just keep his head down
00:57:24 and trust that, trust in the player that he is,
00:57:28 trust that someday he's gonna get to
00:57:29 where he wants to get to.
00:57:30 And this was kind of like his, you know, vindication game.
00:57:35 I mean, and credit to him.
00:57:37 He went for it.
00:57:38 He just went balls to the walls and he didn't hold back.
00:57:41 He didn't play with any sort of, you know,
00:57:43 trepidation or any question
00:57:46 that he couldn't be this player.
00:57:48 And this is gonna be, you know,
00:57:51 certainly he's gonna think about for the rest of his life,
00:57:53 but Celtics fans are gonna be like,
00:57:55 hell yeah, Porzingis is my dog.
00:57:57 Absolutely.
00:57:58 He's, you know, if this continues to go
00:58:01 in the right direction for Boston,
00:58:03 Porzingis is gonna have a home here
00:58:06 for the rest of his life.
00:58:07 Put it that way.
00:58:08 He won't be able to go far without being noticed,
00:58:10 but he won't pay a penny for anything.
00:58:13 - So as we talk about being fans of Porzingis,
00:58:16 no bigger fan of Porzingis on this team
00:58:19 and maybe in life than Jalen Brown,
00:58:21 his roommate, his bosom buddy, you know,
00:58:25 and, you know, I guess also kind of lost
00:58:29 in like, if you're a Celtics fan,
00:58:30 what you've missed is that little chemistry
00:58:32 and the vibe that those guys have going in on the court.
00:58:35 And right now Porzingis probably came out,
00:58:39 you know, of the gate looking like,
00:58:41 oh, this might be the finals MVP type of performance here.
00:58:45 But by the end of the game, it was Brown who, you know,
00:58:48 overtook that and is a clubhouse leader.
00:58:50 But again, that's largely due to the fact
00:58:51 that Porzingis only played 21 points.
00:58:53 Nevertheless, Brown up there,
00:58:55 just talking about how proud he is
00:58:57 of his boy KP after the game.
00:59:00 - Jalen, your friendship with Christoph Porzingis
00:59:02 is the World Chronicle this year.
00:59:03 Just as a friend and as a teammate
00:59:05 and as someone who's been around him,
00:59:06 what did it feel like to see him have the kind of game
00:59:08 that he had right off the bat and have that energy?
00:59:11 - It was amazing.
00:59:12 Nobody's more proud and more excited for him than I am,
00:59:16 but, you know, we got to get better.
00:59:18 I mean, we got to, you know, almost forget about it
00:59:21 and get ready for the next one.
00:59:23 We can't be celebrating ourselves.
00:59:26 Dallas is probably getting ready for the next game right now.
00:59:29 So we got to prepare and get ready for the next one too.
00:59:33 - On to the next one.
00:59:38 On to the next one.
00:59:39 That's how you got to be.
00:59:40 That's how you got to be.
00:59:41 - So Brown was an assassin tonight all the way through.
00:59:46 - I mean, that donkey had a first half.
00:59:50 My goodness.
00:59:52 My goodness.
00:59:53 - Again, like I said, like I said,
00:59:55 it was a team effort in the first half
00:59:59 where they played near perfect basketball,
01:00:01 executed their game plan to precision.
01:00:04 When things started dragging,
01:00:05 Jalen Brown saved their asses there in the third quarter.
01:00:08 So Jalen gets the Brownie again,
01:00:12 and Jalen is the clubhouse leader right now for MVP.
01:00:15 - Jalen doesn't get the Brownie.
01:00:16 - Absolutely.
01:00:17 - Jalen can't get the Brownie.
01:00:18 That's right.
01:00:19 Jalen was ridiculous.
01:00:20 It was ridiculous.
01:00:21 The dunk was ridiculous, but it was the defense.
01:00:23 And again, like that's the best thing about Brown.
01:00:26 - I think it was the pregame fit.
01:00:27 - When he's engaged, everyone's like,
01:00:29 oh my God, he looked so mean pregame.
01:00:32 But like, that's the best thing about Brown.
01:00:34 It's like, you talk about that snarl,
01:00:37 you know, like Porzingis is out there winking and smiling
01:00:39 and you're like, oh, look how happy it is.
01:00:41 Jalen Brown's out there just wants to catch bodies.
01:00:44 You know, like he's angry, angry.
01:00:49 - I love it.
01:00:52 - Yeah.
01:00:53 - Love it. - Thank you, dude.
01:00:54 - Love it.
01:00:55 - Bobby Manning.
01:00:57 - We might get a smile out of him in a couple of weeks though.
01:01:00 Where is Bobby?
01:01:03 - What does this mean?
01:01:06 - Did you talk trash about Hauser?
01:01:08 Hauser had a solid game.
01:01:09 - No, in fact, I said Hauser,
01:01:12 the speed of the Indiana Pacers was too much for Hauser,
01:01:16 but I thought he'd be able to play in this series
01:01:18 was I believe what I'd said, but that's okay.
01:01:20 - We don't talk about that.
01:01:23 - That's okay.
01:01:24 - Bobby actually said he thought Hauser might not play.
01:01:26 - Hauser acquitted himself well this game.
01:01:29 You know what's interesting is that it's the odd man out
01:01:32 here I believe was Pritchard
01:01:35 because they were a little worried about mismatches there
01:01:38 on him and also him not being able to get a shot off
01:01:41 as easily on the driving kicks as some of the other guys.
01:01:43 Hauser had one of the most ridiculous
01:01:45 catch and shoot threes I can remember.
01:01:47 He caught the ball directly over his head
01:01:50 with his arms almost fully extended
01:01:52 and then shot it without bringing it back down.
01:01:54 I've never seen that.
01:01:55 It was the same thing.
01:01:58 - That was, I mean, it's like when your kids are little
01:02:04 and they're just, you know, you just throw the ball
01:02:05 and they just catch it and without even thinking
01:02:07 they just throw it back up.
01:02:09 - Yeah, it was like volleyball, but it was--
01:02:11 - There was no form at all.
01:02:13 - His hands were almost fully outstretched
01:02:15 over the top of his head and he splashed it.
01:02:17 I was like, what was that?
01:02:20 I couldn't believe that.
01:02:22 - Whatever it is though, he's working for it.
01:02:25 'Cause I mean, he was killing it tonight.
01:02:28 And he played good defense.
01:02:29 I mean, he first--
01:02:30 - He was great, he was great on D.
01:02:33 First two possessions against Luka
01:02:34 forced the turnover and forced to miss.
01:02:37 And Luka didn't miss that many shots early on.
01:02:38 So good for him, good for him.
01:02:41 He needed a game like this.
01:02:43 - And he had it, I was just gonna say,
01:02:45 he's had an abysmal, absolutely abysmal playoffs here.
01:02:50 I mean, he had 17 against Miami
01:02:53 and I think it was game five.
01:02:55 But since then, I mean, if he just packed his bags
01:02:59 and retired, I don't think anyone would have faulted him,
01:03:01 but not the type of guy he is.
01:03:03 And you know what I mean?
01:03:04 And like, you gotta give him credit.
01:03:05 Just like you gotta give Porzingis credit
01:03:06 for the rehabbing and coming back.
01:03:09 Gotta give these guys credit
01:03:10 for just believing in themselves, staying true.
01:03:13 And Hauser, a guy that could not hit the broad side
01:03:16 of a barn, just doing whatever he can to get in the court.
01:03:19 And we haven't mentioned his name yet, Sean.
01:03:22 - Yeah.
01:03:23 - Coach Joe, going to Hauser,
01:03:26 believing that he could still contribute
01:03:28 and sticking with him out there.
01:03:29 I mean, you gotta get--
01:03:29 - I was surprised how quick they went to all their rotate.
01:03:32 Like, I didn't expect they were gonna get into the benches
01:03:36 as early and often as they did.
01:03:37 And all of a sudden, Pritchard and Hauser are out there
01:03:40 and you're like, "Oh, so they're doing this."
01:03:41 You know?
01:03:42 - Yeah.
01:03:43 - I think Bobby said he didn't even know
01:03:45 if Hauser was gonna play this series.
01:03:47 - Oh, that.
01:03:50 - So.
01:03:51 - I don't know about that.
01:03:51 - No, I mean, look, you got 16 from Pritchard,
01:03:54 16 from Hauser.
01:03:55 Hauser finishes plus 17 with eight points.
01:03:58 You know what I mean?
01:03:59 Really, really, really, really solid performance for him.
01:04:04 That is, I mean, a plus.
01:04:08 I don't think you necessarily thought you counted on here.
01:04:10 And I liked it.
01:04:12 Bobby and I were talking about that too, up on nine.
01:04:15 Just kind of like, why?
01:04:16 And it just makes sense because of his ability
01:04:19 to get that shot off quickly.
01:04:21 And you knew this was gonna be one of those series
01:04:23 where there's just gonna be a ton of drive and kick
01:04:25 with Dallas having those bigs there, clogging things up.
01:04:27 That, you know, I mean, we predicted
01:04:29 that the Celtics would take, you know, 53
01:04:31 as they ended up with only 42.
01:04:33 It's actually below their season average.
01:04:35 But you knew it was gonna be one of those games.
01:04:37 And that's what you have a guy like Hauser out there.
01:04:39 If he can hang on defense, he can.
01:04:42 And that's the thing is like, outside of Luka,
01:04:45 who's gonna hunt to switch on somebody every single time.
01:04:48 And Kyrie being Kyrie, like, you're not super worried
01:04:51 that anyone's gonna cook Hauser, you know?
01:04:54 And so that's why he can probably survive here.
01:04:58 - And they've got, you know, and if that situation arises,
01:05:00 they've got to be ready to rotate.
01:05:02 - I'm on Shaq's single cam on TNT, I'm being told.
01:05:07 That's I'm right on the line here.
01:05:09 - That's awesome.
01:05:10 You wanna get Shaq on?
01:05:12 I'll give you a hard hat if you get Shaq on.
01:05:17 - We have no hard, Jimmy, we have no hard hats.
01:05:19 - We will have hard hats and I will save them for you.
01:05:22 Also, I wanna make an announcement.
01:05:25 I'm gonna be getting a hard hat too.
01:05:27 So maybe I'll give mine away
01:05:28 at the end of the playoff run.
01:05:31 We'll see how that goes.
01:05:32 Did John freeze?
01:05:35 - I did, I did.
01:05:37 Am I back?
01:05:37 I'm not back?
01:05:41 Sorry, I thought it blinked out for a second for me.
01:05:46 So like we said-
01:05:47 - How big is Shaq?
01:05:50 - He looks great.
01:05:51 I think all of these guys are on, you know,
01:05:53 all of, you know, Ozempic and all of that shit now.
01:05:55 So they all look terrific.
01:05:57 - I meant height wise.
01:05:58 - I actually have no idea if that's the case,
01:06:01 but like everybody's skinny now.
01:06:02 - Yeah, I'm not on Ozempic.
01:06:05 Just, I wanna put that out there.
01:06:06 - No, you're just frigging, you're just on Jimmy.
01:06:09 Yeah, Nick Jelso is thumbs up.
01:06:15 Jelso's thumbs upping me back.
01:06:18 - Yo guys, you got me for a couple more minutes, Bobby.
01:06:22 - We asked for you to be back.
01:06:24 - Well, the fans did, Jimmy,
01:06:26 and they've been asking all fucking year.
01:06:28 How about that?
01:06:29 - Whoa, whoa, hey.
01:06:30 - Boss man can say what the boss man wanna say, Jimmy.
01:06:35 You know what I mean?
01:06:36 - No, we're not gonna fire him.
01:06:38 - No, man, I got Bobby right here and Joe Sway.
01:06:41 They're gonna let me get my last take in.
01:06:43 I see, I see John.
01:06:45 He's right there.
01:06:46 - There's Bobby.
01:06:47 - Johnny, look.
01:06:48 - You see Shaq too?
01:06:49 - A fake Bobby just walked by.
01:06:51 He looks just like Bobby.
01:06:52 I swear to God.
01:06:53 - You guys look like you're having a lot of fun.
01:06:56 - We are.
01:06:57 We have a total of four laptops all not charged.
01:07:01 They're all not charged at this moment.
01:07:03 So we're doing our best.
01:07:06 I'm not gonna hijack anymore.
01:07:07 I'm just gonna say thanks for having me, guys.
01:07:09 I'll be back after game two and we'll be more organized.
01:07:12 And I may have on a hard hat
01:07:14 because I heard there are hard hats in inventory right now.
01:07:18 - They're gone, Nick.
01:07:19 They're sold out.
01:07:20 - All the hard hats sold out.
01:07:21 - All the hard hats sold out.
01:07:22 - All the hard hats sold out in five minutes tonight.
01:07:26 - Are you kidding me?
01:07:27 - We do have another order placed.
01:07:28 I'm not gonna say, I'm not gonna make any promises,
01:07:31 but there will be more hard hats available.
01:07:33 If you didn't get one,
01:07:34 gotta watch the show to know when they go for sale.
01:07:37 - Nick just thanked us for having him on his network.
01:07:42 - There was a time where this show was me and Jimmy's show
01:07:48 and man, I'm glad it's not anymore.
01:07:50 It's so much in better hands right now with you guys.
01:07:54 So Richie's-
01:07:55 - This is like when they own a team
01:07:57 and then signs himself to play in the games.
01:08:00 - No, I signed-
01:08:01 - Gary Jones over here.
01:08:03 - One day contract so I can retire a garden report guy.
01:08:06 - Why are you leaving, Nick?
01:08:09 - There you go.
01:08:10 - I'm leaving 'cause we don't have enough room for me.
01:08:12 And that's okay.
01:08:13 - Oh, you don't?
01:08:14 - 'Cause no, and because we have computer issues.
01:08:16 But on the next game, I will be ready.
01:08:19 And this is my parting shot, my last take.
01:08:22 - Okay.
01:08:23 - Order, no, I'm gonna say right now, Celtics in five.
01:08:25 That's my prediction.
01:08:27 Celtics in five.
01:08:28 - A little late on that one.
01:08:29 You don't get to make those picks.
01:08:32 - He makes his pick after the series starts, okay?
01:08:36 - And the other thing, I wanna formally apologize
01:08:39 to Joe Mazzuolo who's been outstanding in these playoffs.
01:08:43 Apology, Jim.
01:08:44 - It's okay, he doesn't know who you are.
01:08:47 (laughing)
01:08:49 - And you know what?
01:08:52 He has no idea who I am.
01:08:54 But you know who does?
01:08:56 Kyrie Irving, 'cause I checked today.
01:08:58 The fucker still has me blocked from four years ago.
01:09:02 Four years ago.
01:09:03 And I'm not doing any apologies for Kyrie.
01:09:06 That's it.
01:09:07 That's it.
01:09:08 Oh, boomerang!
01:09:09 (laughing)
01:09:11 Anyway, get over here and take a,
01:09:15 take a look at this.
01:09:16 - It's like Inception right now.
01:09:17 - I'm gonna get canceled here.
01:09:19 Joe Sway, get in here.
01:09:20 - Yeah, please.
01:09:21 - I'll see you after game two.
01:09:22 - All right, see you, Nick.
01:09:25 That was a lot.
01:09:29 That was a lot.
01:09:30 - That was a lot.
01:09:31 - NBA finals on the guard report too.
01:09:34 Everyone's coming for it.
01:09:36 - I believe that was an appropriate amount of gel.
01:09:40 So I believe that was just the right amount of gel, so.
01:09:43 - Just the right amount, yeah.
01:09:45 We don't need any more surprise.
01:09:49 - So you know what I'm gonna skip?
01:09:51 I'm gonna skip the Tatum Convo.
01:09:53 You know why?
01:09:54 I just don't wanna do it.
01:09:55 - I don't wanna do it either.
01:09:56 - We recognize that he did the drive and kick stuff.
01:09:58 I still think some people are gonna freak out a tad
01:10:00 because they're looking for more offense.
01:10:03 My only thing I will say on it is,
01:10:05 I do wanna see him be able to get to his shot
01:10:08 a little bit better than it is.
01:10:10 I'm sure I was saying he was getting by people.
01:10:11 I actually thought he was having a tough time.
01:10:13 Sometimes getting past guys
01:10:16 that he should be able to get past.
01:10:18 I just wanna see him decide and move a little quicker.
01:10:20 But you're right, his drive and kick was outstanding.
01:10:22 And even when you're looking at it,
01:10:23 you're like, he's not scoring.
01:10:24 But every minute he's on the court,
01:10:26 good things were happening.
01:10:27 So I don't wanna get into a you don't know ball argument
01:10:31 about complaining about Tatum and what he was doing.
01:10:34 Yeah, because you don't need to.
01:10:36 They won and--
01:10:37 - If they lose a game, if they lose.
01:10:39 - He was usually part of good things
01:10:43 rather than bad stuff.
01:10:45 So he was good.
01:10:46 - There's another clip. - We're waiting for Bobby.
01:10:49 - Yeah, why don't you play this clip?
01:10:50 - We're gonna play.
01:10:51 Oh, Kyrie, here it is on the environment.
01:10:55 Somebody told me that--
01:10:57 - On the environment, he's gonna talk--
01:10:58 - If I listen--
01:11:00 - Global warming and stuff, what?
01:11:01 - I'm sure the word,
01:11:04 I'm sure the journey is gonna come up at least once.
01:11:07 - Don't stop believing. - Mention the environment.
01:11:09 How did that either meet or kind of exceed
01:11:12 your expectations and how did it affect you tonight?
01:11:15 - No, I mean, it's basketball at the end of the day.
01:11:18 Being in this environment, I'm used to it at this point.
01:11:23 Early in my career, there was a different relationship
01:11:28 that I had with Boston, just being able to come here,
01:11:31 be settled with a veteran group.
01:11:33 Now I'm here as a veteran.
01:11:35 Over the past few years, just experiencing the playoffs here
01:11:38 even regular season, it's been the same thing.
01:11:40 I thought it was gonna be a little louder in here,
01:11:42 but I'm expecting the same thing going into game two.
01:11:45 Crowd's trying to get me out of my element,
01:11:48 my teammates out of my element,
01:11:49 but again, the energy's gotta be focused towards the game.
01:11:52 Felt like I had a lot of great looks.
01:11:54 They hit back around more.
01:11:56 They were just a little left or right.
01:11:58 So I just gotta stay confident
01:11:59 and stay poised throughout this, man.
01:12:01 This is the best time of the year to be playing this.
01:12:03 Only two teams left, let's put it in perspective.
01:12:06 So the environment's gonna be what it is,
01:12:08 but my focus is on our game plan
01:12:10 and making sure my guys feel confident
01:12:12 and I feel confident and continue to shoot great.
01:12:14 - Wow, I thought they'd be a little louder.
01:12:18 Thought the fans would be a little louder.
01:12:20 - Okay, where are the students?
01:12:23 - John, you're muted.
01:12:24 You're muted.
01:12:25 Can't hear a thing.
01:12:26 - I like that dig.
01:12:27 I do.
01:12:28 I like that.
01:12:29 That's a good little shot there.
01:12:31 I'm giving that to 'em.
01:12:33 It just slips it right in and that's fine.
01:12:35 Here's the thing, with Kyrie.
01:12:37 No, go ahead, Sherrod.
01:12:40 - I was gonna say, would any of us be surprised
01:12:42 if that just happens to find its way
01:12:44 onto the jumbotron right before tip-off?
01:12:46 - Right.
01:12:48 - I personally would do that.
01:12:49 Just to troll.
01:12:51 - The old days, they'd do it.
01:12:52 Now everybody's soft.
01:12:53 They don't wanna riot.
01:12:55 They don't wanna get everyone riled up,
01:12:56 but they should do it.
01:12:57 - Oh, they should do that.
01:12:59 - But I will say about Kyrie's game,
01:13:00 and sure, you can always say,
01:13:02 I rimmed out a couple shots.
01:13:03 I wish I did this.
01:13:04 I wish I did that.
01:13:05 And that's all fine and good.
01:13:06 But the key is, he's one of the best difficult shot makers.
01:13:11 He's one of the best shot creators
01:13:13 and difficult shot makers in the NBA.
01:13:15 So the key is, you just wanna make his shots
01:13:17 as difficult as possible.
01:13:19 And then if he beats you, you tip your hat.
01:13:22 If he doesn't--
01:13:22 - I thought they did that tonight.
01:13:24 - And they did.
01:13:25 These were difficult shots.
01:13:26 He's flying across the lane.
01:13:28 He's shooting fadeaways.
01:13:33 They're making him go left.
01:13:35 I mean, he's a natural left-hander actually,
01:13:37 but I mean, he can do it all,
01:13:39 but you're trying to make it harder on him.
01:13:41 You just don't want it to be.
01:13:42 And he wasn't able to get everything he wanted,
01:13:45 even when he was getting on switches.
01:13:47 Everything was challenging tonight.
01:13:49 This wasn't one of those where like,
01:13:50 well, he missed six open threes.
01:13:53 It wasn't that.
01:13:53 They think they made it hard on him.
01:13:55 So--
01:13:55 - Well, congrats to Kyrie.
01:13:57 Three more wins and he gets a ring, right?
01:13:59 I mean, he takes half the credit
01:14:01 for like what Tatum and Brown do.
01:14:04 You know, every other quote he wants to talk about,
01:14:07 you know, the veteran and the relationship
01:14:11 and all this stuff.
01:14:12 He doesn't look that bothered out there on stage,
01:14:15 which on one hand, it's good to be able
01:14:18 to stay level-headed,
01:14:19 but on the other hand,
01:14:20 all this stuff where, you know, it's just basketball,
01:14:22 we're just, you know, it's great to be playing,
01:14:24 all this stuff.
01:14:25 You guys just got worked.
01:14:26 You got smoked and you played like trash.
01:14:28 Like, how about a little bit of accountability?
01:14:31 How about a little bit of, you know,
01:14:33 we gotta be better. - That's not on brand.
01:14:35 That's not on brand for him, Jimmy.
01:14:36 You know that.
01:14:38 - I know, but--
01:14:39 - Well, I don't know what else he said there.
01:14:43 So, you know, it's possible.
01:14:45 Luca looked like he was pretty,
01:14:48 he looked like a sad girl at the podium.
01:14:51 - Did he?
01:14:52 (laughing)
01:14:55 - Yeah, for sure.
01:14:56 But yeah, I'm kind of curious
01:15:00 from the Dallas perspective,
01:15:01 like what their, what their like move is, you know.
01:15:05 I don't know that they did much in-game
01:15:08 to change things up.
01:15:10 I'm curious what they do next game to change it.
01:15:12 'Cause it's, again, it's one of the great things
01:15:14 about the Celtics versus not being the Celtics.
01:15:18 It would be Dallas is the Celtics can do
01:15:20 a lot of different things in beach,
01:15:21 a lot of different ways.
01:15:23 And, hi, Abby.
01:15:26 - Oh, hi, Sherad.
01:15:27 - Hi, Abby.
01:15:29 - Abby, you could say more to Sherad than that.
01:15:32 - I can't hear him.
01:15:34 - You can't hear him?
01:15:34 - I have headphones on.
01:15:35 - You're exactly right, but you can still say hi.
01:15:37 - Hello, Sherad.
01:15:38 - Hello, Abby.
01:15:39 - I enjoyed your post-game notes.
01:15:40 - He said good to see you.
01:15:41 - Nice to see you too.
01:15:43 - Keep killing it.
01:15:43 - Keep killing it.
01:15:45 - We're all former colleagues.
01:15:49 - Exactly, big team Kumbaya.
01:15:52 - Yeah, we used to hang out.
01:15:54 A lot of NBC peeps.
01:15:57 - No, but Dallas, I mean, it's,
01:15:59 I just don't know what more Luke could do
01:16:02 other than maybe get his teammates more involved,
01:16:04 but he tried.
01:16:05 They just couldn't make shots.
01:16:07 And when, and they passed up,
01:16:10 and to their credit, they didn't force the action.
01:16:13 But man.
01:16:15 (laughing)
01:16:19 I'm a cheerleader, that's funny.
01:16:20 I love that.
01:16:21 - They got us.
01:16:24 They got us.
01:16:25 - That was good.
01:16:26 That was good.
01:16:27 - That was good.
01:16:28 - I'm looking at something really nice over here, guys.
01:16:31 In the corner of our boxes here.
01:16:35 - Should we bring these guys out?
01:16:39 - Two studs.
01:16:40 There they are.
01:16:41 - I thought you were talking about something behind us.
01:16:45 - Harry and Lloyd.
01:16:46 - Don't do that.
01:16:48 Stop it.
01:16:49 - I love the lower,
01:16:50 look at the lower thirds.
01:16:51 - The lower thirds is Bobby and Josue,
01:16:53 but it's Josue and Bobby, but that's okay.
01:16:55 - Yeah, it's okay.
01:16:56 It's okay, you guys can be.
01:16:57 Everyone watching the show knows who you are.
01:16:59 - Yo, switch.
01:16:59 (laughing)
01:17:01 How we doing, fellas?
01:17:03 The finals.
01:17:04 You guys pumped up?
01:17:04 - You guys are doing great.
01:17:05 (laughing)
01:17:06 - We've been-
01:17:07 - Who are you wearing?
01:17:08 What'd you guys bring for the finals?
01:17:09 - We're exhausted.
01:17:10 We've been doing a show for an hour and 20 minutes.
01:17:11 So you guys can talk for three minutes
01:17:13 and then I'm wrapping it.
01:17:14 - There you go.
01:17:15 - That went by fast.
01:17:16 You know what, guys?
01:17:18 What I love the most about this win,
01:17:21 the NBA final, what?
01:17:23 What do you mean, what am I wearing?
01:17:24 - It's an Oscars thing.
01:17:26 - Let's go, Josue.
01:17:28 Let's go, let's go, let's go.
01:17:29 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:17:30 This is what we wanted.
01:17:31 Here we go.
01:17:32 Here's the closeup.
01:17:33 All right.
01:17:34 So, one of the biggest takeaways from this game,
01:17:38 or I should say after the game,
01:17:39 is the fact that I feel like none of the Celtics players-
01:17:41 - Is Bobby a cutout or is he real?
01:17:42 He hasn't moved yet.
01:17:43 - What am I supposed to talk about with Josue?
01:17:47 - Yeah.
01:17:48 - Why do you gotta move?
01:17:48 - Oh, what a hello.
01:17:50 - Why do you gotta interrupt Josue just to piss Bobby?
01:17:52 I mean, it's the finals.
01:17:53 - It's like angled this way and not straight up.
01:17:56 - We can't have our three minutes.
01:17:58 Bobby, I guess we can't have our three minutes.
01:17:58 - It's like you just saw a ghost.
01:18:00 Is Josue like naked behind the camera or something?
01:18:03 - All right, what I was gonna say is,
01:18:05 I don't think anyone in that Celtics team
01:18:06 is like particularly satisfied with this win.
01:18:09 Obviously, a win's a win as they say,
01:18:11 but everyone is like, we need to play better.
01:18:13 And that can't happen where that lead,
01:18:16 that 20 point lead turns into an eight point lead
01:18:17 in the third quarter.
01:18:18 Like the whole Joe Mazzuolo philosophy,
01:18:20 he's been saying all year, finishing the quarter strong.
01:18:22 They did that in a big way in the third quarter.
01:18:24 And I thought it was Jalen Brown again.
01:18:25 You know, it's been Jalen Brown a lot
01:18:26 throughout this post season,
01:18:27 but to do it on this stage, man, like that was huge.
01:18:30 Obviously what Chris Stapps did to start was incredible.
01:18:34 Like that's probably the biggest takeaway from this game.
01:18:36 I'm sure you guys spent like 35 minutes on that.
01:18:38 But the way this team was able to just
01:18:41 finally stop the bleeding,
01:18:42 because that's like Jalen said, right?
01:18:44 That's what this team's going to do.
01:18:45 They're gonna go on their run.
01:18:46 They're gonna, you know,
01:18:47 you're gonna have to punch back in a big way.
01:18:49 And obviously to get that lead down to eight
01:18:52 was huge for them, but the way they responded
01:18:54 and Derek White agreed with the same thing that Jalen said,
01:18:57 that's exactly what you're supposed to do.
01:18:58 And that's what Southern's basketball has been about.
01:19:01 Mazzuolo ball, if you will, right?
01:19:03 Being able to sustain those huge runs,
01:19:06 but you know, punching back, going into the fourth quarter,
01:19:10 back with a 20 point lead and then never looking back.
01:19:13 And that's exactly what we saw in this game.
01:19:14 - He's finals MVP so far for counting it off.
01:19:17 Front runner off one game.
01:19:19 - The playoff MVP.
01:19:20 - Brown takes pole position again here in this game.
01:19:23 And it's that third quarter, like Joe Sway said,
01:19:27 they're in huge trouble at that point.
01:19:30 They're going stagnant offensively.
01:19:32 Someone who navigates the interior,
01:19:34 makes those kick out passes, the defensive play.
01:19:37 Mazzuolo getting big credit for those.
01:19:39 Getting back to some of their individual efforts
01:19:40 on that end, 'cause they started weighing,
01:19:42 you know, Joe said, you can lose your defense
01:19:46 when your offense starts to stagnate.
01:19:48 And that didn't happen tonight
01:19:49 because of that stretch by Brown there.
01:19:51 And then Porzingis had a first half
01:19:54 where he finals MVP.
01:19:56 And listen, I'm not gonna noctate him too much on this one.
01:19:58 There were certainly sloppy stretches.
01:20:00 This was the exact game you look at and say,
01:20:03 he's driving into three, four people
01:20:06 and just has to kick it out again and again and again.
01:20:08 And are the Mavs gonna continue to play him that way?
01:20:10 That's the biggest question going forward in the series.
01:20:12 'Cause if they do, this is a sweep.
01:20:14 Like they're not gonna be able to compete.
01:20:15 - You know what Bobby though?
01:20:17 It wouldn't surprise me if they do the same thing
01:20:19 in game two, because I'm looking at this-
01:20:21 - It might be the only way they can do it.
01:20:23 - Well, if you look at the quotes from Luca,
01:20:24 from PJ Washington, I mean, guys that are talking
01:20:27 about buckling down defensively,
01:20:28 because in their minds, they're probably thinking
01:20:30 the Celtics, the chance of them shooting
01:20:31 the way they shot in game one is less than likely
01:20:35 if it was another team, right?
01:20:36 So I think with that in mind,
01:20:38 they may do the same approach with Tatum
01:20:40 and just roll the dice in that the threes won't fall
01:20:43 to the same rate or anywhere near that
01:20:45 if they're able to buckle down defensively
01:20:47 and it'll be a much closer game throughout.
01:20:49 - But they can't buckle down defensively.
01:20:51 I mean, I don't think they're gonna be much better
01:20:54 defensively because the Celtics,
01:20:57 they don't have the bodies and the Celtics
01:20:58 have the personnel that makes it difficult
01:21:00 to lock in one or two guys.
01:21:03 The minute you lock in on those one or two guys,
01:21:04 you got three other guys are gonna bust you.
01:21:07 - It was kind of a shocking approach, Gerard.
01:21:10 - Yeah.
01:21:11 - I agree.
01:21:13 - What was shocking to you, Bobby?
01:21:15 - The way the lead went down like that?
01:21:17 - Oh, that they sold out on Tatum to that degree
01:21:20 because I think that's exactly what the Celtics
01:21:22 wanted them to do.
01:21:23 - I would have done the other thing.
01:21:24 I would have let Tatum get the switch that he wanted
01:21:28 and just try to ISO and do it all himself
01:21:31 because that takes everybody else out of the game.
01:21:32 That's what I thought was gonna happen.
01:21:35 And we in fact talked about it as kind of like
01:21:37 the thing I'm most worried might happen
01:21:39 is that they'll bait him into doing that,
01:21:41 into going ISO, into just holding the ball
01:21:43 and like doing his own thing.
01:21:45 I thought that I was most concerned with that.
01:21:47 I am surprised that they took that.
01:21:49 Tatum's not beating us, we'll make everyone else.
01:21:51 I didn't get that at all.
01:21:52 And maybe part of that was due to,
01:21:54 yeah, let's have Horford shoot the threes
01:21:55 and it's not gonna go down
01:21:56 or Porzingis hasn't played in a while
01:21:59 and let's make him, let's see if he's got any juice,
01:22:02 you know, and let's, you know.
01:22:04 But it was-
01:22:05 - Oh, they ignored Porzingis earlier.
01:22:07 - 100%.
01:22:08 - How many times was-
01:22:09 - So they did, it was a bad tactic.
01:22:11 - Yeah.
01:22:12 - It was a bad tactic.
01:22:13 - Well, I was gonna say, yeah,
01:22:13 I mean, that's what happens when it's a bad tactic
01:22:15 and you're overlooking what Porzingis
01:22:17 is gonna bring to the table.
01:22:18 How many times did Lively get caught on the switch
01:22:20 and they lived with it.
01:22:21 It was like, they were okay with that.
01:22:22 And Porzingis was looking around like, is this it?
01:22:24 Okay, I'm gonna shoot right over him.
01:22:25 And it was nothing but net.
01:22:26 Like, you know, those two plays in particular
01:22:28 in the first quarter and then, you know,
01:22:30 the up fake and the dunk
01:22:32 and he really just found his rhythm early, you know?
01:22:35 And I think a lot of that had to do with those switches,
01:22:38 those favorable matchups
01:22:39 that he was able to take advantage of.
01:22:40 - And it was shocking how effective he was.
01:22:43 I mean, me and John just kept looking at each other like,
01:22:45 wow.
01:22:46 - It's insane.
01:22:47 - Yeah, I'm sure there's a play for this.
01:22:48 - It was in like 38 days, like whatever,
01:22:49 like an NBA game, he hasn't played in 40 days.
01:22:52 - It was like made up.
01:22:55 It seemed silly.
01:22:56 We were like, we were giggling.
01:22:57 We were like, you know, it was stupid.
01:23:02 - And so what do you think?
01:23:05 Was he just 100% in Indy and they held him back
01:23:07 and he's more fresh a week or two later?
01:23:10 It might've been the playing coy that you thought it was.
01:23:12 - I mean, not necessarily, I wouldn't call it 100%,
01:23:15 but more so better than we thought
01:23:17 and running on fumes, adrenaline,
01:23:20 like he even used that word himself.
01:23:22 He said, just coming out of this tunnel,
01:23:24 hearing the crowd and just that initial-
01:23:26 - You think they played up his health?
01:23:27 - Getting onto the court, like that was huge for him.
01:23:30 I mean, they may have a little bit, that's true.
01:23:31 I mean, Joe Mazzullo's definitely that guy.
01:23:32 He's not gonna show all those cards.
01:23:33 You know, he's not gonna be like, you know, last Friday,
01:23:36 hey, this is 100%, man.
01:23:38 We've just been sort of, you know,
01:23:39 being cautious with things.
01:23:40 No, what was his go-to line
01:23:42 for the first two, three weeks after Porzingis was out?
01:23:44 I have no idea, right?
01:23:46 Like that was the exact line.
01:23:47 So maybe a little bit.
01:23:48 - Normally you say that, who cares?
01:23:50 That stuff doesn't work, that's silly,
01:23:51 but it might've worked tonight.
01:23:53 Like the way they ignored Porzingis was crazy at times.
01:23:57 Having him in single coverage in those mid-range areas,
01:24:00 it just picked those guys apart.
01:24:02 That seemed to be emblematic to me of a team
01:24:05 that thought he was gonna be more limited than he was.
01:24:08 And if the Celtics played that up
01:24:09 and did a whole game here with this, credit to them.
01:24:12 'Cause at least for game one, it seemed to work.
01:24:15 - Bob, I do wanna point out,
01:24:16 we did in fact open with an apology cam
01:24:18 and we did it gleefully.
01:24:20 So again, if you miss the top of the show,
01:24:22 you can always watch it back.
01:24:23 For those of you-
01:24:25 - We did it.
01:24:26 I had to text John and say we had to.
01:24:28 - You can also catch the audio version.
01:24:30 We have it uploaded in the morning
01:24:31 if you wanna catch it on your morning drive here.
01:24:34 You know, and again, cast of characters.
01:24:36 We had us five, we had Nick Jelso,
01:24:39 we had Andrew Callahan, a brief appearance from Abby Chin.
01:24:42 Star-studded affair.
01:24:43 This was an ensemble cast tonight.
01:24:48 - And you never knew who you were gonna get the guard.
01:24:52 - We got Alex Barth down the road here.
01:24:55 - Barth, Vader.
01:24:56 - Yeah, they're all here.
01:24:59 - We could get a Jack Harlow side.
01:25:01 And you never know a TDP guard.
01:25:02 That's a good point, Jimmy.
01:25:03 - Okay, Joe Swaig.
01:25:04 - You never know.
01:25:05 You're the king of getting people on the show.
01:25:07 So if you see anybody, just grab 'em, man.
01:25:10 - I got you, Jimmy.
01:25:12 - It's gonna be fun.
01:25:13 - Here or in Dallas.
01:25:14 - Sunday's gonna be a celebrity-
01:25:16 - You mentioned Taco?
01:25:17 - Taco.
01:25:20 - Taco was in the building?
01:25:21 - Taco Fall was on the celebrity list.
01:25:25 - Well, you know, 'cause it's the athletes.
01:25:26 We've got the saddest celebrities.
01:25:28 - Such a Boston lineup.
01:25:32 - I was waiting for you guys to realize.
01:25:34 But Jimmy was like, "You gotta get one of these guys."
01:25:36 I'm like, "All right, I got it."
01:25:37 - We do.
01:25:38 - It's usually a random group of celebrities.
01:25:41 - You're not getting an AF.
01:25:42 - Joe Swaig and Bobby might be the two biggest celebs
01:25:47 on the court.
01:25:47 - But I mean, is that the best we could do?
01:25:49 Like a couple of Wahlbergs and a plus one?
01:25:54 Like you can't get an AF Lek or a Damon or a-
01:25:56 - Damon, I mean.
01:25:57 - Or a Krasinski?
01:25:58 Like, get us-
01:25:59 - I don't think-
01:26:00 - I'll take B-
01:26:01 - I don't think Clemen's a big fan.
01:26:02 He was probably-
01:26:03 - I don't know if Ben Affleck wants to be
01:26:05 making a lot of public appearances right now.
01:26:07 Yeah, true.
01:26:08 - Give me Krasinski.
01:26:09 Get him out here.
01:26:10 - Well, when it comes to Boston,
01:26:11 John, I hate to say it,
01:26:12 but you gotta have the hope that someone of relevance
01:26:16 has a concert going on soon.
01:26:17 You know, they happen to be in town for a reason
01:26:19 because it's rare that celebrities will pull up
01:26:22 just for a game unless there's someone playing
01:26:25 that they're related to or something like that.
01:26:27 - John, I don't know if you've noticed,
01:26:28 but a lot of chatter in the chat
01:26:30 about getting me to one of these games.
01:26:32 It's just something to think about.
01:26:34 We should ask Bobby and Joe Sway
01:26:35 since we all gave our opinions.
01:26:37 Game two, starting lineup is announced.
01:26:42 Should Kristaps Porzingis be in it?
01:26:44 - Well, is that gonna be the next layer of deception here?
01:26:48 Oh, he might come in the starting lineup.
01:26:50 He might be on the bench again
01:26:51 'cause everybody was pretty-
01:26:52 - I don't like him coming off the bench.
01:26:53 - Everybody was pretty tight-lipped
01:26:54 about those conversations, the process.
01:26:57 I didn't ask anybody if that's gonna continue
01:26:59 to be the case.
01:26:59 I continually ask that at practice whenever it is,
01:27:02 but that's probably the next thing
01:27:05 that they're gonna try to toss around here.
01:27:06 How much are we gonna see him?
01:27:08 Is he on the bench?
01:27:09 Is he starting?
01:27:10 'Cause there was no minutes limit tonight,
01:27:12 but you certainly saw them be careful with-
01:27:14 - There kinda was, there kinda was.
01:27:16 - Yeah, that's what I mean, yeah.
01:27:17 - You know what was a great little bit of subterfuge there
01:27:20 with Joe being coy about,
01:27:22 like, I don't know if he's gonna start,
01:27:23 and everyone's like, "Ha, ha, ha, he's starting."
01:27:25 Then on the Jumbotron, all game long,
01:27:26 they had the Celtics starting lineup listed,
01:27:29 and Porzingis was on it.
01:27:30 And it was like, even the Jumbotron knows.
01:27:33 And then, boom, it ends up being out.
01:27:36 Anyway, we got briefly into this here.
01:27:39 And by the way, we were a little split
01:27:43 on whether Porzingis should start,
01:27:45 but if he's only gonna be able to play 20, 21 minutes
01:27:48 in a game here, and maybe he would've played 24, 25
01:27:51 in a tighter game, I still think bench makes sense.
01:27:54 - Yeah, but having the ball in the bench, yeah.
01:27:56 Oh, I thought you were gonna say the other thing, yeah.
01:27:58 - He was definitely tired.
01:27:59 One thing we talked about was Jason Tatum, how good.
01:28:02 Let's, rather than argue with each other about,
01:28:06 you know, he sucks, or you don't know ball,
01:28:09 he did a lot of good things,
01:28:10 let's say it was a good, not great game.
01:28:12 Yeah, he can do a little bit more,
01:28:14 but he did what was needed,
01:28:15 and he made a lot of good plays and a lot of good reads.
01:28:18 Well, he wasn't perfect, but Al and Drew Holliday
01:28:20 are gonna tell us why we don't know ball
01:28:22 and why Tatum was, in fact, extremely impactful.
01:28:25 And he was, and he was.
01:28:27 - You know, I think JT was unbelievable.
01:28:30 I feel like, when you look at our team,
01:28:32 the things that we're able to do out there,
01:28:35 they all initiate with him.
01:28:37 He gets so much attention.
01:28:38 They're trying to double him,
01:28:40 they're trying to give him different looks,
01:28:42 and he has to continue to make the right reads,
01:28:44 and tonight he continued to make the right reads.
01:28:46 Every time, taking what the defense gave him,
01:28:49 and then on the defense event, he did well too.
01:28:52 He rebounded very well for us.
01:28:53 You know, the stuff that he did doesn't measure
01:28:57 in stats or numbers or anything like that,
01:29:00 but his impact on the game was felt tremendously,
01:29:03 in my opinion.
01:29:03 - No, he's been doing it all year.
01:29:07 He's been doing it all through the playoffs,
01:29:09 but he was the one in their town that's like,
01:29:12 "We're okay, we're good, keep your poise."
01:29:15 And he went out there and led us,
01:29:17 got into the paint, made plays.
01:29:18 If it was him at the rim,
01:29:19 or getting lively in foul trouble,
01:29:21 or if it was him getting to the paint,
01:29:23 kicking out for multiple threes or plays,
01:29:27 I think he did a good job of leading.
01:29:29 Him and JT, JT was getting almost
01:29:31 at a triple-double playmaking.
01:29:33 I know sometimes people see him as a scorer,
01:29:36 but he's an actual playmaker.
01:29:38 He's doing a lot of everything.
01:29:40 - So there you have it.
01:29:43 There you have it.
01:29:44 - A lot of JT love.
01:29:45 - I love that last line too,
01:29:47 'cause we've talked about that.
01:29:48 Like, who is he, who does he need to be?
01:29:51 The challenge of that, you know,
01:29:53 our last show we did, John,
01:29:54 and we're like, who is he?
01:29:56 If it changes every night, that's a challenging thing.
01:29:58 And it changed drastically again here tonight,
01:30:01 from where the Pacers series,
01:30:03 he's getting easy match-ups, easy lanes to the basket.
01:30:06 And tonight, even when he gets by two people lively,
01:30:08 standing right there at the rim,
01:30:09 it was crazy how much pressure he saw tonight.
01:30:12 - Yeah, no, no question.
01:30:13 But I think what's most important is that he doesn't,
01:30:16 he stays in tune with what's going on, you know?
01:30:19 He doesn't get frustrated.
01:30:21 He's not mouthing off to the officials,
01:30:22 or he's not, you know, trying to take over, so to speak.
01:30:26 But yeah, I mean, those six turnovers
01:30:28 is what really stood out to me.
01:30:30 Just seemed like he was just kind of loose with it,
01:30:33 for sure.
01:30:34 And that's a testament to their coverage.
01:30:36 - Too slow.
01:30:37 - Too slow, yeah, that's not too, it wasn't that like--
01:30:39 - He lost it on a few drives too, you know?
01:30:41 I mean, as well, where he was just, yeah.
01:30:44 And again, I think too slow--
01:30:45 - It wasn't like games three or four,
01:30:46 where he was just much more, like you said,
01:30:48 just take advantage of the match-up,
01:30:49 he was really just taking it to the pacer,
01:30:51 so you didn't see that tonight.
01:30:53 - Yeah, it's never great when you get the switch,
01:30:55 and then you kind of set that guy up,
01:30:56 because the defense is really,
01:30:58 especially when they were playing
01:30:59 the way they were playing tonight,
01:31:00 they're really setting up what they're gonna do.
01:31:03 They're waiting for you here,
01:31:05 and especially as the clock dwindles.
01:31:08 And if they know that they're gonna leave lively
01:31:10 in the paint, there were a couple of times
01:31:11 I'm surprised he didn't turn over even more,
01:31:13 because he would drive with really no hope
01:31:15 of getting the shot up, and the only option
01:31:17 was a kick out to the wing there.
01:31:20 You could almost stand in that passing lane.
01:31:22 So he definitely has to, if he's gonna go to the hole,
01:31:25 you wanna see him do it a little bit more quickly.
01:31:27 But he made some, he made great passes,
01:31:29 and they missed threes early.
01:31:31 He had a great one to Holiday underneath the basket,
01:31:35 where Holiday wasn't quite ready for it.
01:31:36 His angle was off, and he hit the side of the backboard.
01:31:39 But that was a really pretty pass.
01:31:40 So he did good, and he found people
01:31:41 at difficult angles too.
01:31:43 So I think Tatum, it's not just gets a pass.
01:31:46 I think, again, the biggest fear we had going in
01:31:48 was that he would feel like he had to out-Luka Luka,
01:31:51 and make this a, I'm gonna cook and step back
01:31:55 and get my 24 shots off sort of game.
01:31:58 And he didn't, he didn't do that at all.
01:32:01 He took what the game gave him,
01:32:03 which was exactly what was needed on this night.
01:32:07 Guys, go ahead, Jimmy.
01:32:09 - I think we said this in our preview show,
01:32:11 is that Tatum doesn't have to duel Luka.
01:32:16 I think we all kind of said,
01:32:17 he has the supporting cast for it.
01:32:19 Go ahead, Luka, you can win the matchup.
01:32:21 Go for it.
01:32:22 Congratulations, you outscored Tatum,
01:32:24 and you probably will maybe every game in the series.
01:32:26 But that's not the type of player Tatum is.
01:32:28 Whether or not you want him to be,
01:32:29 he's not gonna be that guy who's gonna force a takeover.
01:32:32 And so when Jaylin Brown got hot, fine, feed Jaylin Brown.
01:32:36 When Christoph Porzingis came in, gangbusters, fine,
01:32:38 let him do his thing.
01:32:40 Derek White hit a couple of big threes to start the game.
01:32:42 Like, it's not, this team has not been winning games
01:32:45 that way, and they're not gonna start now.
01:32:47 And like, with your Tatum, yeah,
01:32:50 I'm sure there's a piece of you
01:32:51 that wants to just show everybody that,
01:32:53 yeah, I can drop 30 if I take as many shots
01:32:56 or if I just focus on that.
01:32:57 But these guys know what ultimately
01:33:00 is gonna be said about them.
01:33:01 And it's gonna be whether or not
01:33:03 they can win a championship.
01:33:04 And so maybe at some point in their careers,
01:33:07 Tatum and Brown, the focus will shift
01:33:10 and they'll look for their own stats more.
01:33:12 But right now, it seems pretty obvious
01:33:13 that they're just gonna do whatever it's gonna take
01:33:16 to win a title.
01:33:17 And tonight was a perfect example of that.
01:33:19 - No, no question.
01:33:20 Yeah, no question, Jimmy.
01:33:21 I mean, Boston, they're at their best,
01:33:24 well, they're at its best when everyone's involved like that.
01:33:27 Seven players scored at least two three-pointers in this game.
01:33:30 That's the first time that's happened
01:33:31 in NBA Finals history.
01:33:32 I mean, like, when you have a surrounding cast like that,
01:33:35 which is one that, let's face it,
01:33:36 I mean, maybe we're like five, six years removed
01:33:39 from this Finals, we may look back and say,
01:33:41 "Man, that was the deepest Celtics team
01:33:43 we've seen in the last decade or so."
01:33:45 And I think Tatum, guys like Tatum and Brown,
01:33:46 they understand that because it's not just the depth,
01:33:49 but it's the experience.
01:33:50 It's guys that have been here before,
01:33:52 one guy who's actually won it all.
01:33:54 But overall, I think it's the experience
01:33:55 and the fact that the core has been intact,
01:33:59 relatively intact for like the past three, four years,
01:34:02 helps as well.
01:34:03 So yeah, I think Tatum is such a,
01:34:05 it's a much smarter player now and much more mature
01:34:08 and knows that that's when the team is at their best,
01:34:11 especially when the three-point shot is falling.
01:34:13 So I don't think he was necessarily worried
01:34:15 about his individual performance, but cleaning it up,
01:34:18 you know, the way they bounced back out of that timeout
01:34:20 midway through the third quarter,
01:34:22 he hit some big shots down the stretch
01:34:23 that really put the Mavs away for good.
01:34:26 And what, about four minutes left to go,
01:34:28 three minutes left, Luka was on the bench.
01:34:29 - Yeah. - Yeah.
01:34:30 - And this is why it shocked me so many people
01:34:32 who are picking the Mavs in this series.
01:34:33 You look at the depth of Boston's roster
01:34:35 and the number of guys that can hurt you.
01:34:37 You're just not scared of the Joneses and Washingtons
01:34:40 and those types, so.
01:34:42 - No, you're not.
01:34:43 And it's why Jimmy and I talked about it
01:34:45 at the top of the show.
01:34:46 It's why you just, I just never got it.
01:34:48 I'm not saying, you know, Dallas is incapable
01:34:53 of winning the series or winning multiple games
01:34:55 in the series.
01:34:56 I just didn't get it.
01:34:57 Like I didn't get everyone's rush to declare it.
01:35:00 It's, you know, I think the reasonable take would be like,
01:35:03 it's a good team, they're pretty good.
01:35:05 They could give them problems.
01:35:06 That would have been reasonable to just flat out declare,
01:35:08 like, this is the better.
01:35:10 I didn't get that.
01:35:11 I don't get how you--
01:35:11 - Did people play themselves a little bit?
01:35:13 - Yeah, they did, you did.
01:35:15 It's a little weird recency bias.
01:35:17 Like I said, the boredom,
01:35:17 the Celtics have been this good all year long.
01:35:19 You see them, you see them futz around and said,
01:35:21 you know, mess around with those, you know,
01:35:24 the crappy, the Eastern Conference looks weak.
01:35:26 Are you guys whispering to each other or?
01:35:28 - Oh, I'm wondering if you could take a deep breath.
01:35:30 - Because we're getting bounced out of here,
01:35:31 but I might as well just say it now.
01:35:33 We're getting bounced out of here.
01:35:34 So we're about to check out.
01:35:36 - We can do this.
01:35:37 We can do this organically.
01:35:39 - Who's telling you--
01:35:40 - No, I know.
01:35:41 I'll just wait.
01:35:42 TD Garden employees.
01:35:45 - Get him on, get him on screen.
01:35:47 - Well, not that we have to leave altogether,
01:35:49 but we got to move from this exact spot.
01:35:50 - We can do it.
01:35:51 - They're telling us.
01:35:52 - We can do it.
01:35:53 - Oh yeah.
01:35:54 - I hear you.
01:35:55 - All right, ready guys?
01:35:57 We're going to say goodbye together then.
01:35:59 - Wait, we're going to end the show?
01:36:01 - Well, I didn't know.
01:36:02 John had to go.
01:36:02 I was just trying to--
01:36:04 - We're back.
01:36:05 Did I blink out?
01:36:07 We're going to end the show.
01:36:08 - 3,800 people in here.
01:36:11 - We're going to end the show.
01:36:12 Guys, we're 90 minutes in.
01:36:13 We're 90 minutes in.
01:36:15 (indistinct)
01:36:17 People are starting to like drill things.
01:36:20 I think we can wrap it up.
01:36:22 I think we can wrap it up.
01:36:23 We'll be back down with more preview stuff in a little bit.
01:36:27 But I think we've said all we can say.
01:36:29 We do appreciate you guys coming in here.
01:36:30 Are they going to leave or no?
01:36:32 Actually leave.
01:36:34 - Yeah, it's hard at work.
01:36:37 I think Amit's being arrested.
01:36:39 - Yeah.
01:36:41 - It's okay.
01:36:41 - Amit's being arrested.
01:36:43 - Bill Money, here we come.
01:36:45 - Yeah.
01:36:45 - Yeah.
01:36:46 - It's okay.
01:36:47 As long as he brings his laptop in jail.
01:36:49 - I know.
01:36:50 - As long as he gets everything posted, we're good.
01:36:52 - Yeah.
01:36:52 - If wifi in jail is good, we're okay.
01:36:56 We'll be okay.
01:36:58 - As long as the wifi is good.
01:36:59 - As long as the jails are in Boston.
01:37:01 (laughing)
01:37:03 - Thank you guys for watching.
01:37:05 We do appreciate it.
01:37:06 We thank you for cleaning out our hard hats.
01:37:09 We thank you for those who support our sponsors.
01:37:12 We thank you for those who are liking
01:37:14 and sharing the show with other people.
01:37:16 Great, great audience tonight.
01:37:18 And a lot of good reasons why we had a terrific game one
01:37:21 as the Celtics take down the Mavericks 107-89 lead.
01:37:25 (indistinct)
01:37:28 - Did we lose John?
01:37:29 - Yeah.
01:37:30 - Did we lose John?
01:37:32 We may have.
01:37:33 Sherrod, you're muted.
01:37:34 - I could tell I froze, so I stopped talking.
01:37:38 - You're back.
01:37:40 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
