00:00The challenge of finding institutions to pursue a tertiary education has become less arduous
00:08thanks to the Star Education Fair 2024, which has brought all aspects under one roof.
00:14For this year's edition, there are 108 booths, with 55 educators being showcased at the Setia
00:21Spice Convention Centre in Bayan Lipas.
00:24The two-day fair, organised by star media group Berhad, also features a full line-up
00:29of talks, one-on-one interactions and great offers.
00:33We have a booth at the Star Education and we have so many students coming and they are
00:40really interested in pursuing their study in University of Malaya.
00:44So for coming at our booth, the students are able to meet many, many lecturers coming from
00:51all the faculties, basically you can have a one-to-one session with our lecturers to
00:58ask whether your particular passion or whether the interest is suitable and whether the results
01:07that you get enables you to pursue in different faculties that is based on their interest.
01:14I think the whole point of having the booth is basically to give opportunity for students
01:20to look into what are the possible pathways that they can take with the results that they have.
01:27Today, basically what we are offering is a full range of programmes from NT, ranging
01:34from a pre-university up to a PhD degree and the best part is students can actually come,
01:40I think the modern students can actually come over here to get the information, not only
01:46from the Penang campus itself, the students can actually get the information from our
01:52other sister campuses as well, campuses like Subang, My Lai, you know, feel free to come
01:58to our booth to get all this information.
02:03Though we are newly established, but we have an offering of 14-15 programmes.
02:09It ranges from the business, accounting and logistics and we are introducing computer
02:15learning and as well as a diploma in electrical electronics and we also offer software scholarships.
02:22At present, two of our students are in the UK, doing their final year in software degree
02:29in logistics and we also embark in some international programmes and then we work together with
02:37the EU Erasmus grant and then last year we sent a student to Poland.
02:42So, we find that these are ways that we can expose the students, not just on academics
02:48but as well as exposure to the practical industrial world outside.
02:53The STAR Education Fair 2024 is held side by side with the MySTAR Job Fair 2024 at the
03:00Convention Centre this weekend from 11am to 7pm ending Sunday.
