Transcript
00:00 Authorities are continuing to search for the houses discovered in the Pogo compound raided by the Pampanga,
00:08 where the Malahotel facilities and equipment were discovered,
00:13 which could be used for scams.
00:16 Joshua Garcia, San Repor.
00:18 In this compound,
00:22 more than 150 Filipinos and foreigners were attacked by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission of Paok and PNPC-IDG,
00:31 who have been forced to pay a fine of P46.
00:37 But because of the large area, only five people are being searched by the authorities.
00:41 Among the things discovered in the search,
00:43 the most common tools used for scams are computers, SIM cards, and scripts written in Chinese characters.
00:50 The compound is completely facilitated.
00:52 It has a hotel, restaurants, nightclub, spa, salon, and shops and clinics.
00:58 The authorities have been forced to leave the compound so that the victims who are in jail will not feel it.
01:04 The authorities have not searched the houses.
01:07 The only thing they have rescued are the dogs.
01:10 But the electric fan and aircon are still open.
01:13 This means that people have just left and escaped from the compound.
01:16 The torture room where the possible tools used to make the victims suffer were also discovered,
01:22 such as baseball bats and electric iron.
01:26 We saw SIM cards, many of them,
01:29 simple SIM cards.
01:31 Of course, there are computers that they use.
01:34 We also saw manuals written in Chinese characters.
01:41 We also saw rooms where we saw baseball bats, steel sticks that are used to wrap.
01:52 According to Dr. Winston Casio of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission,
01:57 the biggest problem for non-licensed POGO companies is their involvement in scams,
02:02 torture, human trafficking, and others are also involved in drugs.
02:06 In Central Luzon alone, from January to November 2023,
02:09 more than 60 banks have been brought in by POGO hubs
02:13 while they are being killed by the police in the form of scams.
02:16 There are many crimes related to illegal POGO.
02:21 We should look at this issue carefully.
02:24 We have only managed to close 4 out of 400 in one year.
02:32 You do the math. How long has this been going on?
02:35 At present, the police have been watching the compound.
02:39 The authorities have decided to enter all the houses to investigate
02:42 who owns and incorporates POGO hub.
02:46 It is justified to submit their recommendation
02:48 on how to face illegal POGO to Executive Secretary Lucas Pertsamina
02:52 to reach President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:56 Joshua Garcia for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
