00:00The Presidential Communications Office and its attached agencies took its turn to go under the microscope
00:06in today's House plenary deliberations on its proposed 2.281 billion peso allocation for next year.
00:14Then again, it was a cakewalk for the PCO as its proposed budget received little to no opposition or resistance.

00:22The interpolations on the proposed budget of the Presidential Communications Office,
00:30including attached agencies or corporations, is terminated.
00:34The House of Representatives swiftly terminated the plenary deliberations for the proposed budget of the Presidential Communications Office
00:43and its attached agencies for 2025.
00:46Under the General Appropriations Bill, the new allocation for PCO amounts to 2.281 billion pesos.
00:53Various officials and personnel from the government's communication arm personally attended the deliberations
00:59headed by PCO Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez.
01:02PTV Network General Manager Toby Nebrida was also present.
01:06In his sponsorship speech, House Committee on Appropriations Vice Chair Jill Bongalon
01:10emphasized the importance of the role of the PCO and the need to allocate sufficient funding for the agency.
01:17The Presidential Communications Office is the lead communications arm of the government
01:22and the primary source of the administration's messages for an informed and empowered citizenry.
01:28The agency is responsible for crafting, formulating, developing, enhancing,
01:36and coordinating the messaging system of the executive branch and the office of the president.
01:42This received overwhelming support from the congressmen to the point that no one even asked questions or raised opposition.
01:49I fully agree with you on your sponsorship speech.
01:55As a matter of fact, I do believe that the office of the Presidential Communications Office deserves more budget.
02:04So with the importance of this office, there is no member of the minority who wishes to interpellate.
02:12So with that, I move to terminate the period of interpellation and debate
02:19for the office of the Presidential Communications Office and its attached agencies.
02:23Thank you, especially to the members of the minority.
02:27The PCO family expressed pleasure on the outcome.
02:30In a statement, Secretary Chavez thanked the House of Representatives for their expeditious approval of their budget proposal.
02:37He emphasized appreciation for the House's full support,
02:41and he assured to spend every peso of their budget efficiently according to plans and programs and fully compliant with laws.
02:48Apart from the PCO, other agencies' budget proposals also went through the scrutiny of the lawmakers.
