00:00In the eruption of Volcano Canlaon,

00:07the Mt. Canlaon Natural Park and the livelihood of many of our residents were affected.

00:14That is why the GMA Kapuso Foundation responded to their needs.

00:22A lot of views and shares came up on the post of the eruption of Volcano Canlaon on June 3.

00:30We learned when we took a video and a picture of Marian in Canlaon City.

00:37We were talking while having coffee,

00:40and we didn't notice that the volcano had already erupted.

00:43We all stood up on the spot where I was filming.

00:48Many of Marian's fellow villagers were affected,

00:51including Mt. Canlaon Natural Park in La Carlota City in Negros Occidental,

00:57where Ruchel was a tourist guide for four decades.

01:02Tourist guides used to visit and earn money.

01:07It was temporarily closed.

01:09It was painful for us because it was our livelihood.

01:14We don't have a livelihood anymore.

01:18He used to earn Php 500 to Php 1,000 a day.

01:24Now, he's broke.

01:26The volcano hasn't erupted yet.

01:29There are a lot of tourists here.

01:30But right now, we suffer because Mt. Canlaon is temporarily closed.

01:35Operation Bayanihan of the GMA Kapuso Foundation immediately took action.

01:41The 79th and 62nd Infantry Battalions of the Philippine Army

01:47were stationed in two barangays of La Carlota City.

01:50The augmentation or assistance provided by the GMA Kapuso Foundation

01:58is of great help for the daily needs of our families.
