00:00 All right.
00:01 Connor McDavid and the Oilers down one zip big game tonight in Sunrise Florida right
00:11 near the Everglades and they need to start chomping like those alligators and get some
00:16 pucks in the net or they're going to be in trouble going back to Edmonton down to if
00:19 they don't win tonight.
00:20 Yeah.
00:21 This was Connor after the game on Saturday night.
00:24 Scotty of course like you mentioned they had all the traffic in the world against Bobrovsky
00:28 but just a little unlucky.
00:30 Here's McDavid.
00:31 Do you feel like with the scoring that this team has the power play that this team has
00:35 that getting goalie one game doesn't have to lead to more this team has enough that
00:41 that just can't last?
00:42 You know maybe it was the hockey gods getting us back for that game six you know where we
00:49 probably didn't deserve to win.
00:52 Tonight maybe we deserved you know at least one goal or maybe two goals and we don't find
00:57 a way to get them.
00:58 You know I know this group will stick with it bounce back.
01:02 That's what we take a lot of pride in doing and we'll gear up for a big one on Monday.
01:08 I'll give him this.
01:10 He is at least doing these interviews like he is every night he does these interviews
01:18 and he looks like he would rather be at a cemetery than be doing interviews.
01:24 He'd rather be digging graves.
01:27 Night at night with a light and a flashlight and a shovel.
01:30 He does not look like he wants to do any interview ever but he does every one of them because
01:35 it's the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen.
01:38 He's the only guy that anyone ever wants to hear from on the Edmonton Oilers.
01:44 You never hear from anyone else.
01:46 They might show Knobloch at the press conference but no one wants to hear from him.
01:51 No one.
01:52 They only care about McDavid.
01:54 It's truly unbelievable.
01:55 He's the only player on the team that matters.
01:57 It's true.
01:58 Only one that matters.
01:59 On the absolute opposite side of the spectrum is Paul Maurice who of course loves talking
02:03 to everybody.
02:04 Paul yesterday knew he's not going to be able to hold McDavid and Drysaddle down for a very
02:10 long time.
02:11 Here's Paul Maurice.
02:12 How does Drysaddle in particular make your life difficult?
02:15 Like he's carrying his own line then he's matched up or he's spotted with Connor you
02:20 know coming off a power play or playing from behind.
02:22 He's on the power play.
02:24 He can just keep going man.
02:25 You got it.
02:26 You don't need me to answer that question for you.
02:30 And I mean this respectfully to all of you because it's me too.
02:35 You have become desensitized to how good those two players are.
02:38 And I understand why.
02:40 You see it every night and they are so dynamic and so special.
02:44 But after a while you get used to it to the point that you'll start saying why doesn't
02:48 it happen every shift?
02:50 Well it almost does.
02:54 They are truly true special players because all aspects of the game you can do all things
03:00 right and still not stop them.
03:02 So you have to have layers.
03:04 You have to have gap.
03:05 But I don't know how the heck you gap that speed.
03:08 They're just dynamic.
03:10 I mean they are unbelievable.
03:12 And I think you know Paul's the coolest coach in the NHL.
03:18 I mean he after 30 years he's not afraid to say anything or be who he is in these interviews.
03:28 And he's a funny guy.
03:29 He's cool.
03:30 He's always been very cool to me.
03:31 I've known him forever.
03:33 He's been a friend of mine in the league.
03:35 He was always stood by me when I was doing hockey and he knew that I loved hockey and
03:40 he knew that my shows were insane and he liked them.
03:44 He's a cool dude.
03:45 He's as cool as they come in the NHL.
03:48 The Panthers are lucky they have him.
03:50 You know in the day and age of coaches getting hired and fired in professional sports which
03:54 is literally like recycled bottles at the dump.
04:00 You know what I mean?
04:01 They're like plastic.
04:02 I don't know what there are more of.
04:04 Fired coaches in pro sports or plastic bottles in the oceans.
04:09 Honestly.
04:14 Just keep a good one when you got him.
04:16 Forever.
04:17 Like don't let this guy go.
04:18 He's a gem.
04:20 The Panthers are favored again tonight in game number two minus a buck 25.
04:25 The Oilers are plus 105.
04:27 It is another five and a half.
04:29 I'm going back to the underscott even if the Oilers win.
04:32 I think that this is the way these Panther games are going to go under these totals.
04:36 I'm fair with that and I got to take a stab with Edmonton again.
04:41 If we're going to have a good Stanley Cup final we need the Oilers to win tonight.
04:45 I think the NBA final so far for me has been a debauchery.
04:49 I just am not enjoying it at all.
04:51 I think it's because I hate the Celtics and I'm watching them just annihilate the Mavericks.
04:56 In my opinion I don't care if they won by seven.
04:58 It might as well have been 70 because they win every game.
05:01 So I'm bored to death with the NBA right now to be honest and disappointed in how pathetic
05:09 it's been.
05:10 And I got to tell you I need something better than this.
05:13 And what I need is an Oiler win tonight to make this a good series.
05:16 I want this to go seven games.
05:18 I'm done with all this one team kicking ass.
05:20 Taylor Teal sucks.
05:21 Poor goal.
05:22 Poor goal.
05:23 Poor goal.
05:24 (upbeat music)
