00:00Stanley Cup Final also lived to see another day over the weekend, a Saturday night up in Edmonton, Alberta.
00:11An explosion of goals, Scotty, for the Edmonton Oilers. Eight in total. An 8-1 win to send the series back to sunrise for a Game 5 tomorrow night.
00:21Included in those eight goals, the first Stanley Cup Final goal for Connor McDavid on ESPN ABC.
00:29Sometimes the numbers are really a nice story. Sometimes that $10 million clock is the big story.
00:35Big hit by Ed Blatt on Fogle along the boards. There's McDavid! He scores! Connor McDavid on the score sheet!
00:47Listen, let's get real here. Connor McDavid and Dreiss Eidel and Hyman and Nugent Hopkins and Kane have all been pathetic in the Stanley Cup Finals.
01:03So 16 guys had points in that game the other night. They won 8-1. Obviously, they had a big night.
01:10But in the three previous games, those big names that I just rattled off had not one goal. Not one. Not one goal. All five of them.
01:23And now he scores a goal and everybody's nobbing him again. Because they won a game 8-1 that literally, in my view, when it was 3-1, the Panthers said,
01:34Screw it. Let's go home and win it. Screw it. We've been kicking their ass six ways until Sunday. Let's go home and win it.
01:41Now everyone thinks that they got this all figured out. Same with the Mavericks. Everything else. Let me tell you something.
01:48These guys, that's the way they think. They literally, as a team, they'll be on the plane. They used to hang out with all these guys.
01:56We're just going to go win it at home. And that'll be the end of it. We're not messing around with them on Tuesday night or whatever it is.
02:05Tomorrow night, right? Tomorrow night, you'll see what happens. You'll see what happens tomorrow night.
02:09I've heard all this I can take about the Evans and Oilers. They have been beaten like a redheaded stepchild, literally, in this series.
02:18Honestly, been beaten to a pulp. And so physically, 4-check, pounded, walls, corners, slot, special teams, goaltending, everything.
02:30And then all of a sudden, they don't play in a game where they literally didn't even try. And now all of a sudden they suck and they're going to lose the series.
02:38You're tripping. Okay, you're absolutely tripping. You know what they're going to do? They're going to fly that Stanley Cup down to sunrise.
02:45And then tomorrow night, they're going to hoist it in the air and everybody's going to get hammered. That's what's going to happen tomorrow night.
02:51The same thing that's happening tonight is going to happen tomorrow night in sunrise.
02:55I don't disagree with you. I think that that is what's going to happen.
03:00McDavid in that game Saturday night did also become the, would have the most assists ever in a playoffs. 32 assists. He passes Wayne Gretzky.
03:10But here's the problem as I'm looking at that list, I saw that list, right? Gretzky, Gretzky, Gretzky, Lemieux.
03:16You know what the difference is between the other four guys on the list and him? The other guy's won.
03:21The other times all those assists happened, they won the Cup. That's not going to happen with him.
03:25There's 10 Stanley Cups with their names on it is what happened with the other two.
03:31Okay, like Lemieux, 2 as a player, 3 as an owner. Gretzky, 5 as a player with Edmonton, right?
03:38And so the difference is he's got one goal and they act like he's got 14 goals. He's got all these assists in the playoffs.
03:49Congratulations. If you don't have your name on the Stanley Cup, you're not the greatest player in the world.
03:56That's the end of the subject right there. That's it. And he knows it.
03:59He don't even want to talk to the media and he still does it because he's the face of the franchise and the captain and everything else.
04:05And he's not even like, I don't even know if he is that. I really don't even know if he is that.
04:10But the reality is I know he's the face of the franchise. So he always does these interviews and he's about as entertaining to listen to as a dog sleeping.
04:20Okay, so here's his one goal in the Stanley Cup finals. To me, he's been pathetic.
04:27Well, he didn't want to talk about the record either. All he wanted to talk about, Scotty, was that he needs to get this series back to Alberta for a game number six. Here he is.
04:39Connor, does scoring eight change at all your feeling on the team and how it's played in this series and where you're at in this series? Does that matter to eight?
04:49No, I don't think so. It's just one win. That's all it is. It doesn't matter if you score eight or you score one. It's just one win.
04:58And we had to go to Florida and do a job and drag him back to Alberta.
05:07Yeah, that's not happening. Here's the deal. To a man, including Paul Maurice and his staff, even the trainer, literally the radio guys, no one wants to get back on that plane and fly six hours each way.
05:26No one. I just flew to Vegas and back. I mean, literally, prison sounds more exciting than that flight again for me right now.
05:34Flying to Edmonton, Alberta from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, wherever they go out of. I'm sure it's Fort Lauderdale because they play near Fort Lauderdale.
05:45So here's the deal. No one wants to go on that trip. So here's the game plan for tomorrow night. Nobody wants to get on that plane. We are not getting on that plane.
05:55Win this tonight. Let's drink.
05:57Yeah, here we go. Game five, minus 135 for the Panthers, plus a buck 15 for Edmonton. Five and a half is the total.
06:06Of course, they went way over that in game number four. I'm with you. I think you laid it out as good as you possibly can.
06:14Right, Scotty? There's so much motivation here, not just to win at home in front of your own fans or to bounce back from getting embarrassed eight to one,
06:24but not having to make that miserable trip back to Edmonton, Alberta. I think you put all those eggs in the basket.
06:32I think I think the Panthers win the cup tomorrow night.
06:36And not only that, they've never won the Stanley Cup. They want their first Stanley Cup down there and they're going to get it.
06:45And not only are they going to get it, I've heard all this today that, oh, how about an overtime game?
06:52How about not? How about a puck line game? How about they do the same thing to Edmonton that they got done to them on Saturday?
07:01I say they turn right around and I'll bet they five to them, six to them, six three them.
07:08I'll lay the puck and a half even. I'm going to do that today, too.
07:11Not only will they win, I'll bet them to win on the money line at that relatively low juice.
07:16And I'll bet them on the puck line and I'll bet it over because they're going to beat them senseless.
07:22And they're going to drink all night out of that Stanley Cup and spray each other with champagne and beer.
07:27Get the goggles out. It's time to party. I mean, you want to go snorkeling.
07:32It'll all be happening in sunrise near the Everglades. Grab an alligator.
07:36Let's have some fun. Party naked tomorrow night. Game over.
07:41No doubt about that. For the series, the Oilers are plus 725.
07:46That's just not enough for me for them to win three games in a row.
07:49I just or four games, really, if you count the one they've already won.
07:52I would need a hell of a lot more than that. Minus twelve hundred for the Florida Panthers.
07:57And Bobrovsky, despite getting pulled the other night, Scotty, is still the favorite,
08:02although it's not as big anymore, to be the consummate award winner.
08:07Oh, well, he'll win it once he wins game five tomorrow night.
08:12And they pulled him so that he wouldn't have to, you know,
08:17expend any energy at all when they were getting their ass beat in for Alberta on Saturday night
08:23because they didn't try. They threw the game. They gave up when it was four one.
08:29They were like, thanks. And then they pulled him and they pulled him to rest him for Tuesday
08:34because he's only played in five million consecutive playoff games for them.
08:39Can he have a cold beer and a massage, please? I mean, honestly, this guy,
08:44not only is he going to win, you're going to win the cons might, though.
08:47He's carried them to the Stanley Cup. No one else.
08:50Not for Hagee, not Barkoff, not, you know, Maddie can chuck none of them.
08:56It's Bobrovsky's to lose.
