00:00I started this walk so that we could elevate the voices of migrants and refugees in terms
00:09of the positive contribution that they make to Tasmania and over the last four days I've
00:15had some fantastic conversations where I've spoken to people who are building their lives
00:20in Tasmania and at the same time they're building Tasmania.
00:24It has been the most uplifting experience that I've had to date in my life.
00:29Today walking into Perth, this has put a real spring in my step and yesterday I did 64,000
00:36steps and so it's fantastic to have been met this morning by the Perth Primary School,
00:41by Launceston Church Grammar, kids from St Patrick's High School as well as so many different
00:48people from so many different countries and to be able to have a conversation with them.
00:53But importantly, the message that I want to send is that we are better together.
00:59Tasmania is an inclusive place, it is a respectful place, at times we do let ourselves down unfortunately.
01:07What I believe very firmly is that we are better when we are together and there's nothing
01:13better than a display like this this morning to demonstrate that.
