All broadcasters in the country have been urged to consult with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) and Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) to vet the preachers invited for religious programmes on their platforms.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil's remarks on Saturday (June 15) addressed concerns about the guidelines for overseeing freelance preachers invited as guests on religious programs, and emphasised the need for better coordination and clear guidelines in matters involving religion to prevent confusion.

When asked about the decision to suspend freelance preacher Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid from a religious programme produced by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), Fahmi said the ministry has deferred to Jakim for review.

00:10Can you elaborate a little bit?
00:12Yes, we have handed it over to the judge to investigate this issue.
00:16And the judge has given a statement before this.
00:19So we give up.
00:21Because the previous view has been accepted and given advice.
00:28But as a result of this recent action, I think it is reasonable for us to give a little time.
00:35Before we bring him back.
00:38So give a little time.

00:49Maybe after this, to get any celebrity's advice, is there a guideline for you to confirm yourself?
00:55Yes, we should contact the judge and the judge.
01:01I see that they need help to investigate.
01:05Asatizah who was invited.
01:08And even though we give space to everyone.
01:12But when it comes to religion, I think there needs to be a little clarification.
01:18With the judge and the judge.
