00:00Chapter 8. John chapter 7 verse 53 because it's Father's Day I'm gonna read
00:19from the King James Version. Amen. John 7 verse 53. And everyone went to his own
00:33house. John chapter 8 verse 1. You turn the page and meet me there. But Jesus
00:41went to the Mount of Olives and early in the morning he came again to the temple
00:47and all the people came unto him and he sat down and taught them. Then the
00:53scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman caught in adultery and when they
00:58sat her in the middle they said unto him, Master this woman was taken in adultery.
01:05The law says that she should be stoned. What do you think? You may be seated.
01:17And every man went into his own house. But Jesus went into the Mount of Olives
01:23and early in the morning he came again to the temple and all the people came
01:27unto him and sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought
01:33to him a woman caught in adultery. When they sought her and when they sat her in
01:38the middle they said unto him, Master this woman was taken in adultery. The law
01:44says that she should be stoned. What do you think? I want to preach today using
01:51as a subject, we need you black man. We need you. Would you do me a favor if
01:59there's a brother sitting near you would you just point at him and declare out
02:03loud, we need you black man. Come on y'all ain't giving the kind of energy I'm
02:10looking for. Find another brother, point at him and just declare out loud, we need
02:16you black man.
02:22Those of you who are streaming I just want you to just type it in the thread
02:26right there, we need you black man. I rose today to give voice to the sentiments of
02:35our community to announce to black men, we need you. You are needed more than you
02:46know. The data has come in that when black fathers are on the scene, when a
02:54black father is present, it is 75% less likely that a teenager will become a
03:03parent. When a father is present, it is 80% less likely, hear this, that a young
03:12person will go to jail. This blew me away, I need you to hear it. When a father is
03:19present, a young person is 43% more likely to make A's on their report card.
03:29When a father is present, they are 33% less likely to repeat a grade. Black man,
03:40you are needed. 71% of high school dropouts, 71% of high school dropouts are
03:51fatherless. 88% of men who are incarcerated have no relationship with
04:00their dad. We need you black man. 90% of runaways, 90% of runaways don't have
04:12their father's phone number. Without a father present, a child is 40% more
04:21likely to be abused. 80 times more likely to be trafficked. Fatherlessness raises
04:32the chances of anxiety, depression, and suicide in children. You don't even see
04:40the immediate impact of it, but those who are raised without a father, when
04:47they're old, they die four years younger than their counterparts. Fatherlessness
04:55even impacts who you are as an adult. Adults who don't have a healthy
05:02relationship with their dad are more prone to divorce. They are more prone,
05:09hear this, to co-produce with an uncommitted partner. Black men, we need
05:17you. The children need you. The church needs you. The community needs you. Our
05:26women need you.
05:30Today, we renounce the notion that has been infused into our society that you
05:42don't need a man. That's a lie. We need them. We need them. We need them. We need
05:54our black men. I can't believe y'all ain't shouting on that. Let me say it
06:00again. We need our black men, and y'all still sitting there. We need our black
06:12men. I read John 7 and 53 in your hearing where it says, and every man went home,
06:29but I failed to give you the context. Jesus had been teaching and preaching
06:35and performing miracles all through John chapter 7, so a great crowd had
06:40converged, and after he finished teaching and preaching and performing
06:45miracles, his enemies showed up, tried to get him arrested, but Jesus was able to
06:52slip through the cracks, and after he survived the horrific trauma of the
06:58attack of his enemy, the next verse says, and everybody just went home. It goes to
07:07show you that you can have a traumatic day, but people will go on like nothing
07:13has happened. Here you are breaking down, and they'll click over. You falling apart,
07:22and they go get fast food. All you see is red, and they worried about watching the
07:30game. People will become so preoccupied with their own lives that they never
07:37pause to see how it is that you were doing. There's some men in this room who
07:43are right on the edge of imploding and falling apart and crumbling under the
07:48pressure, and because you always presume that they are always strong, you have not
07:54afforded them the grace to actually be human, but I'm thankful unto God, man, with
08:00all the trouble that you're dealing with, all of the pressure, all of the debt, all
08:04of the bills, all of the profiling, that somehow or another you found the
08:09strength to still get to God today, and you didn't stay home.
08:16Turn the page, look at the top of chapter 8, verse number 1, and it says,
08:29everybody went home, everybody went home except for Jesus. Jesus is the only man
08:37who didn't go home. He went to the Mount of Olives. This is a significant terrain
08:44known affectionately as the Mountain of the Anointing. It's at this same mountain
08:51where David went to hide when his son Absalom was trying to kill him. Men, I
08:58need you to know the anointing is not just for cars and clothes and money, the
09:02anointing will stand between you and the child you are at odds with. From this same
09:11perch, Zachariah prophesied complete restoration. Brothers, the oil will help
09:18you rebuild what is collapsing in your life. On this mountain, Jesus prayed
09:25through his pain. The anointing will help you work out what's going on between you
09:31and God. This is where Jesus went to ready himself for what was going to
09:38happen next. Brothers, if you can hear my voice, if
09:42you can hear my voice, I need you to know you are anointed for what's next.
09:49Whatever is next in your life, God has already anointed you for the assignment.
09:56And unbeknownst to us, what happened next would break anybody's heart. A woman is
10:05being shamed. A woman is being humiliated and being embarrassed because they caught
10:12her in adultery. They put her picture on social media for 2024 years. She's gone
10:21so viral that you don't even know her name, you just know what she was caught
10:25in. We've allowed Sunday school teachers and preachers to vilify her for years
10:31without ever taking a moment to consider her case. This woman was not
10:37caught in masturbation. And because she wasn't caught in masturbation, she
10:43wasn't caught by herself. She's caught in adultery, that means somebody else was
10:49with her. And nobody has ever asked the question or launched the investigation,
10:55who was with her? Why were you shaming her but held no accountability for him?
11:01Y'all ain't saying nothing to me. The church is gonna have to clean up our
11:06ways on how it is that we handle our girls and shield our son. Something is
11:13wrong. You'll go to some churches that if the girl get pregnant, we take her off
11:19the choir, but the baby daddy's still playing drums. Something is out of order.
11:26She is caught in adultery. But they don't say anything about the man she's caught
11:33with. They say nothing about her partner in crime. And nobody is giving any voice
11:40to what this young lady is dealing with because I need you to see that she
11:46is brought to the town center and she is about to be stoned. And what you have
11:51not paid attention to is this woman who is half naked with just a sheet draped
11:57around her is about to be stoned by men. And she's whimpering under her eyelash
12:04that's getting ready to fall off and mascara that's getting ready to come
12:09down her face. She's crying out one sentence, one
12:14declaration. The only thing she's crying out is where is my daddy? I need somebody
12:22to protect me. That's the same thing some young man is crying from jail today
12:29because they trying to make him take a plea deal when he didn't do anything.
12:35Where is my daddy? It's the same thing that's being asked of some young man
12:42who's confused about his sexual identity and he don't know who he is. He wants to
12:49know where is my daddy. It's the same thing that's happening for some young
12:56girl whose body is taken advantage of and she's got to leave her mind
13:01somewhere else so that she doesn't have to commit suicide. Where is my daddy? It's
13:09the same thing that's being asked of some young woman who is in competition
13:14with her own mama who feels like her mother is jealous of her body and her
13:21future. Where is my daddy? And I'm thankful under God that that's the same thing
13:28Jesus asked on the cross. My God why has thou forsaken me? But there's some
13:36witnesses who are in this room that when your father wasn't there God showed
13:42up every time and said no I am with you always.
13:51Ladies and gentlemen they wanted to stone her and they had the nerve to want
14:06Jesus to cosign. What we can't ignore is that she's about to get the death
14:12penalty and amidst the calamity her father doesn't show up to protect her
14:19but Jesus is on the scene and what I need you to know is that Jesus at the
14:26time of this text is only 31 years of age and this young lady who's been
14:31caught in adultery can't be just 10 years younger than her and her father
14:36doesn't show up but I'm thankful that another man did. Ladies and gentlemen
14:43sometimes the father is not somebody who shares DNA but the father is
14:50somebody who stands in the gap. I want to pause and salute and thank God for the
14:57bonus dads and for the uncles and for the deacons and for the coaches and for
15:02the teachers and for the next-door neighbors that saw something in your
15:07child when they didn't have a responsibility or an obligation to do it
15:13don't y'all sit here and act like no men stood up in your life would you
15:18shout right now for the men that God planted.
15:28They had rocks in their hands and they aimed them to kill this young lady. They
15:38were getting ready to stone her to death as was the law. Ladies and gentlemen
15:44Jesus didn't bring out a flask of oil, he didn't pull out a tallit, he didn't call
15:52for a prayer line. Ladies and gentlemen he just stood in the gap. He stood in
16:00between the rocks that were getting ready to be thrown and a young lady who
16:06was unprotected. Don't you sit in here today and believe you are where you are
16:11because of your degree. You ain't where you are because you halfway cute. Don't
16:18think you are where you are because you got connections. The only reason why you
16:24in church today is God stood in between. Whatever was supposed to wipe you out
16:31and I need some witnesses in here that know if it had not been for the Lord.
16:45I should have been dead, sleeping in my grave. Don't make me testify I'll run
16:53through this building. I shout today because they were folk that conspired
16:58for your downfall but God said no weapon that is formed against you shall be able to prosper.
17:10You may be seated. May be seated. God blocked it. God blocked it. God blocked it.
17:25Hallelujah. I don't know how y'all that come. God blocked it. I was molested but I
17:31got my right mind. God blocked it. I should have never made it through school. God
17:37blocked it. I went through some stuff children should never have to deal with
17:44but God blocked it. Left. Left to the instruments of life. You should be an
17:57alcoholic based off of what you endured. You should be living under a bridge
18:06because of how it is that you were mishandled. You should have killed two
18:11people but God said if you hold your peace and let me fight your battles for
18:19you. Some of y'all ought to be shouting why? Because I'm not vengeful. I'm not mad. I
18:25don't have an attitude but I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free.
18:35Hallelujah. You may be seated. Hallelujah. You may be seated. Hallelujah.
18:50We need you black man. We need you black man. God I got the wrong church. We need
19:08you black man. Y'all think I'm talking about somebody in the choir? You think I'm
19:15talking about some deacon on the front row? We need you black man. He had hair
19:21like lamb's wool. Skin like bronze. Head in Egypt. The government tried to kill him. He
19:30had a friend that betrayed him. We need you black man. They hung him high. They stretched him wide. He hung his head. And then he died but
19:45that's not how the story ends. Three days later. We need you. We need you. We need you. Come by here dear Lord. Somebody needs you Lord. Come by here.
20:12Hallelujah. We need you black man. Hallelujah. He's a doctor in the sick room. He's a lawyer
20:21in the courtroom. He's a friend to the friendless. We need you black man. If I ever needed you
20:30before, I sure do need you now. You may be seated. Hallelujah. You may be seated in the
20:45presence of the Lord. You may be seated. I gotta show you something real quick. I gotta
21:04show you something real quick. Because some of you who were here last week are
21:13confused and you're thrown off because you said, pastor, all summer you was gonna preach on miracles.
21:23You said this was gonna be the miracle summer for June, July, August. You were gonna preach
21:33just the miracles of the Bible and this woman caught in adultery and a miracle story. I'm
21:41glad you thought that. When I needed you to see, ladies and gentlemen, in John chapter 8 and she's
21:48caught in adultery. Translation, watch this, she did it. This ain't a rumor. This ain't a lie. It
22:01ain't a conspiracy. It ain't profiling. Listen to me. She did it and was supposed to die. But Jesus
22:12showed up and said, I know she's guilty, but I still got a destiny for her life. If you want
22:23to know what a miracle looks like, look at me. Somebody prayed for me. They had me on their
22:33mind. They took the time and I'm so glad, I'm so glad that they prayed. Be seated. I'm almost finished.
22:44Hallelujah. Be seated right where you are. Hallelujah. Some of y'all ain't ready for
22:50where we getting ready to go. Hallelujah. Look at your neighbor and tell him, yes, I did it. I went
22:56some places I shouldn't have gone. I did some things I shouldn't have done. I was with some
23:03people I had no business with. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. You
23:12want to know why I'm shouting today? I should be in the mortuary, not the sanctuary. But I woke up
23:20this morning with my mind. I need you. Oh my God. I need you, black man. Be seated for the last time
23:34today. I'm almost finished. Be seated. Hallelujah. I just want to throw it in the enemy's face. I
23:42just want a hundred of you to shout out loud, I should have been dead. I could have been dead. I
23:48can think of two occasions in my life that I didn't know how I was going to survive that.
23:55It's not by might. It's not by power. It's only by the Spirit of God. Don't shout if you ain't
24:03never been in a car accident. Don't give God glory if sickness never been in your body. Don't praise
24:12him if you didn't survive a bad relationship. Hallelujah. And Jesus scoops down and starts
24:30writing in the dirt. Hallelujah. And it never tells us whether it's cursive or not. He writes
24:44in the dirt. And what I like is the Bible says they all dropped their rocks from the youngest
24:53to the oldest. And the woman was able to go free. Those of y'all who don't feel like shouting, it's
25:00okay. This ain't for you. Come back next Sunday. But this is for the praisers. God says, when you
25:07give me glory today, every person, I need you to hear this shout, every person who thought they
25:15had something on you. God said, watch me make them drop it. The issue is over after today. You
25:27gonna live with no shame, no embarrassment, no regret. He said, I'mma make them drop it. Oh my
25:39God. I don't know what's wrong with y'all today. He says, I'mma make them drop it. And I'mma make
25:48them go back home from the youngest to the oldest. So God says, when you praise me, I am dropping
25:57everything they had over your head. Watch this from your oldest stuff to the stuff you did last
26:05night. You just got freed from it. And I need somebody who knows no weapon that is formed against
26:16me shall be able to prosper. I came to give God glory like the stone has been dropped.
26:24I need you, black man. Lift up that hand. I need you. I need you. Cause God says, I'mma cover you. I need you.
26:46Hallelujah. I need you. Hallelujah. I need you. Thank you, Holy God. Hallelujah. Those of you at this altar, take two
27:02steps back for me real quick. I need to pray real quickly. And my time is almost up. I'm gonna pray
27:10quickly wherever you are in this room. The Holy Spirit just stood on my shoulder. Listen to me, if
27:18you're a man in this room, listen to me, you're a man in this room with an outstanding warrant. I
27:26need you to meet me at this altar real quick. You're a man in this room. You have an active
27:33warrant. I need you to meet me at this altar as quick as you possibly can. I don't know where
27:42you are. I don't know who you are. Hallelujah. Stay right here. I don't know where you are. Come on.
27:48God told me to tell you he's gonna cover you. I need you to meet me here.
28:03See, y'all play church. I ain't playing with it. You have an outstanding warrant. I need you to come.
28:21Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You have a pending court case this week. In the next seven days, I need
28:29you to meet me at this altar. You have a pending court case over the next seven days. Hallelujah. I
28:37need you to meet me at this altar between now and the 23rd. I need you to come quickly, whether you're
28:45male or female. I need you to meet me at this altar. Hallelujah. I don't know where you are, but I need
28:52you to come. I need you to come. I'm looking for a young man with a black t-shirt. He's got red
29:00writing on it. I can feel you in my spirit, but I can't see you. I don't know where. Okay, here you are,
29:06right here. Come on, quickly, right here. Thank you. Here it is. Thank you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
29:17Bless his name. Gentlemen, ladies, lift up your hand, please. Stretch your right hand to faith. I know this ain't a
29:29traditional Father's Day message, but I need you to just trust the Holy Ghost in me. Listen to me. The
29:36reason why it is that you ought to really give God glory, because the church really doesn't deal
29:41with this, is God has grace for the guilty. Y'all better stop acting like you perfect. Stop acting
29:53like you ain't dropped the ball. Since I got grace for the guilty, and in spite of that, I'm still
30:02gonna bless you. Hallelujah. What is amazing, hear this, is the passage teaches us that God will stand in the
30:17gap for those who don't have a father to do it. He'll be your voice of protection. He'll be your
30:28voice of reason. Lord, I pray for those with lifted hands. I don't know the circumstance. I
30:35don't know the situation. I don't know the predicament. But God, I come to you humbly,
30:41because they got rocks aimed at them. God, disrupt the sleep of the judge. I pray God
30:57you'll overturn the evidence. You'll inject the prosecutor with compassion. God, let this be an
31:09opportunity for your glory to be revealed. God, I pray for those who don't have legal fees. I pray
31:19for those who don't have counsel. I pray for those who have resigned that this is the end for them.
31:26And I pray dear Lord that you'll exceed their expectation, and that you will show that you
31:33are the same God that the woman found in John chapter 8. And God, we promise that when the
31:42case is overturned, that we'll give your name all of the glory, all of the honor, and all of the
31:51praise. Would you do me a favor, please? Would you give God glory even now? Come on, y'all ain't
32:01doing good. I'm gonna do this. Hallelujah. This is what I want to do. Please, the lawyers who I
32:12have in this house, if you are a practicing attorney, would you meet me at the altar,
32:17please? You're a practicing attorney. I need you to meet me at the altar, please. You're a
32:22practicing attorney. I need you to come meet me at the altar, please. Thank you. Here they come.
32:29Come on, give God glory. Thank you. I'm thankful. Thank you. Thank you. So what I need to do—thank
32:41you, here comes another one. Here's what I need to do. Those of you who are at this altar, listen
32:46to me very carefully. New Birth, clap your hands for those who are here. Listen to me. After service
32:56is over, I'm gonna give you direction. I'm gonna give you direction after service is over, where
33:02you can meet with these attorneys who are friends of New Birth, so that they can give you some best
33:10practices and some insight that you may need to help you make some clear decisions as you go
33:18forward. That's why we're a community, amen? Y'all ain't saying nothing. That's why we family,
33:24because we operate in that place. And so I ask that you'll go back to your seats, but at the
33:30benediction, listen out. I'm gonna give you direction and instruction where to go, so that
33:35they can just help walk you through and navigate what you need to do. I don't want you with an
33:41outstanding warrant getting stopped at Starbucks, amen? Bless the Lord. Now, if you don't have a
33:46license at all, just stop driving, catch a Uber, amen? Give God glory as they go back to their
33:52seats. Y'all ain't clapping good. I say give God glory. I need every person standing, every person
34:08standing, would you do that for me? Every person, would you stand? If you'll indulge me. I was
34:14sinking deep in sin, very deeply stained within, but the master of the sea, he heard my despairing
34:24cry. From the waters, he lifted me, and safe am I. Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, wherever
34:32it is that you find your place, find yourself. I want you to know every day that you are alive,
34:38listen to this, every day that you are alive, you sin. Every day, by thought, by word, by deed. A lot of
34:50people think they holy because of deeds. That's the lowest dimension of sin. The highest dimension
34:58is thoughts. Yeah, Descartes said, I think, therefore I am. It is a place that you got no idea, you got no idea how
35:10many serial killers are sitting around you in church. Do you know how many people we done killed
35:17in our heads? Y'all ain't saying, y'all ain't saying nothing to me. Do you understand, do you
35:27understand how many people are under a false cloak of righteousness with an addiction to pornography?
35:35Yeah, just because you ain't sleeping with a physical body doesn't mean you not wrestling
35:41with lust in your mind. Reason why it is that we come to church is that all of us are guilty. All of
35:51us have fallen short of his glory. All of us in the last 48 hours said some things, did some things,
35:58repeated some things. Y'all ain't saying nothing that was not a reflection of our merciful God. I'm
36:07gonna open up this altar for some more guilty people who need some grace. Welcome to Death Row
36:15Records. I ain't gonna be all up in your video, but I need you to be a part of a church that is a
36:22part of the transformation process. He said, watch this, all you got to do is be transformed by the
36:28renewing, how this, of your mind. If I change your mind, you'll end up changing your actions. But
36:36your mind has got to be transformed. I'm gonna open up this altar. I'm telling you, I need you,
36:42black man. This church needs you. The community needs you. The women need you. The kingdom of
36:52God needs you. I'm gonna do this. Listen to me. I'm gonna open up this altar first for men to get
36:59saved, for men to join the church, for men to bring their families. Wherever you are, brother,
37:07would you come? Come on, meet me wherever you are. Come on, meet me, brother. Come on, you know you
37:14got to get saved. You know you got to get right with God. New birth, if y'all don't celebrate this
37:23brother coming. Listen to me. Here comes another brother, and y'all still ain't cheering.
37:38Bless his name. All right, I done done what I can do. I now need you all to help me. Everybody
37:57out loud, would you just declare out loud, brother, we need you, brother, we need you. All right, help
38:04me, please, sir, please, ma'am. Everybody, would you talk to a man around you and ask him, is he
38:09saved? Ask the brother around you, is he a part of a church where he's growing, where he's being
38:14challenged, where he's being strengthened?
38:19To you. Come on, wherever you are.
38:29I'll do
38:36to show someone
38:37away.
38:46If there's somebody else, would you come? Come on, give God some glory.
38:54And I am
38:55and I am available to you.
39:03Bless the Lord. Listen, the block is hot. I'm telling you, it's a lot getting ready to go down.
39:11It's a lot that's getting ready to jump off. It's a lot that's getting ready to happen. Our nation
39:16is in crisis. Did y'all hear what I just said? Our nation is in crisis. The world is in upheaval.
39:25But if we got men on the wall, hallelujah, who were standing guard, I will be able to
39:32navigate this space a whole lot better. Hallelujah. Give God some glory. Here come two more brothers.
39:46Bless his name. Would you do me a road check? I'm grateful. Listen to me. I'm grateful that God didn't
39:52just die for men, but he died for all of humanity. There's some sisters that need to get right with
39:59God. There's some young people who haven't had a relationship with their heavenly father.
40:06Wherever it is that you are in this room, I need you to help me open the doors of the church.
40:10Would you move and talk to somebody around you? Ask them, are they saved?
40:14Ask them, do they have a church? Y'all ain't talking to nobody. Would you talk to somebody,
40:20please? I'll do what you say to me. To show someone.
40:32New Birth, clap your hands for those that are coming.
40:35Oh man, and I am.
40:54Bless his name.
