00:00Residents in Liverpool and the wider region are being reminded to be prepared for the general election.
00:06Voters will go to the polls on July 4th to choose a candidate to represent your constituency in the House of Commons.
00:12All those wishing to vote must be registered to do so by 11.59pm on Tuesday 18th June.
00:17This can be done online at gov.uk and usually takes around 5 minutes.
00:21You can register to vote if you're a British citizen or an Irish citizen.
00:25You can also register to vote if you have permission to enter or stay in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
00:30Or you do not need permission and you're a Commonwealth citizen, citizen of Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal or Spain,
00:38citizen of another EU country, if you've had permission to enter or stay or not needed permission since 31st December 2020
00:46and this continued without a break.
00:48Residents will need to provide photo ID when voting at a polling station
00:51and are also advised to check the location of where they should cast their vote.
00:55Voting can be done in person at polling stations or before this by post.
