Wolves confirm first signing of summer window: How are fans feeling about deal which aims to mute ticket price rise turmoil
Well, as Wolves have recently found struggles with purchasing players in transfer windows, they’ve looked to have made a solid start to proceedings this summer, as whilst the fans face trouble over rising ticket prices, are hoping the quality brought in can somewhat make them justifiable.

00:00Moving on to Wolves, look at their transfers so far. They added Rodrigo Gomes from the
00:10Portuguese league. They are quite familiar with buying players from that sort of region
00:17and these clubs. Notably some good players but also very poor transfers for the likes
00:23of Fabio Silva who looks like he could be on his way out permanently this summer from
00:28massive loss for Wolves as well. In terms of Rodrigo Gomes, he looks positive, he looks
00:33quite a prospect. We have mentioned that Wolves should maybe start to try and look into more
00:41English and closer to home players in terms of transfers. If you look at Pedro Neto, it
00:48was quite a similar circumstance when he joined. It's surely something to be quite positive
00:53and excited about for Wolves fans, especially doing business this early in the winter.
00:57It's definitely a regular occurrence going out to Portugal. Wolves and Portugal are basically
01:02the same thing at this point. Rodrigo Gomes is exciting though and for a fee of £13 million,
01:08it's not too much of a risk. It's not like Fabio Silva where he's splashing out £35-40
01:13million for a player that's not turned out to be what you'd hope. Gomes is already 20
01:18years old, already banging in the goals in the Portuguese league. Seven goals and seven
01:22assists last season on loan at Estoril from Braga. It's a cheap fee, as I say. It's one
01:29that doesn't have too much of a risk. He's someone who should fit in fairly quickly.
01:33He's not going to be in the starting 11 immediately, but he's someone who can maybe break through
01:36a little bit like Pedro Neto has. We've seen how well that deal has gone. Wolves can make
01:41a huge profit on him. As a fan, you're not going to want to lose Pedro Neto, but for
01:45the profit and sustainability aspect of things, selling him for about £60 million this summer
01:50could really sort out Wolves and give Gary O'Neill the opportunity to spend and to make
01:55his own mark on the squad.
01:56How important is it that Wolves are actually getting their business done so early in this
02:02window and not leaving the fans to shout if and but by the time the season starts?
02:09I think there'll be a bit of a balance. It is important to show a bit of initiative at
02:13the start of the window, especially in attack, because we saw how the squad depth wasn't
02:17good enough last season and how much it cost Wolves, because potentially European football
02:21was on the cards. If they had that necessary depth, they didn't. So yeah, getting Rodrigo
02:25Gomez to the door, I think is important. Seeing what Jose Mosquera can do potentially as well
02:31as a centre back who's been at Villarreal. There's talks of him going out there permanently,
02:35but if they can bring him back, he might add some depth in defence, which could be useful.
02:40And Che Adams is another one that Wolves are looking at potentially signing. You mentioned
02:44players closer to home. He certainly is. It's just doubts over that one because Nottingham
02:48Forest are trying to make a bid and also his current club, Southampton, are trying to offer
02:53him new terms. But a free deal? Can't see too much wrong with that if Wolves are adding
02:57that depth in attack and he's a proven goalscorer.
