00:00Hi everybody, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press, just bringing you some of your
00:04headlines in Doncaster this Tuesday, June the 25th. First of all, we are currently trying
00:11to find out some more information after a police incident at Doncaster Street early
00:18evening last night. Part of Chalmers Drive on the Clare Lane estate between Wheatley
00:25and Edenthorpe had been sealed off. There were emergency vehicles in place there and
00:33the police were expected to remain at the scene overnight. We've yet to hear exactly
00:38the reasoning for that and we have approached the police and we will bring you more details
00:43on that as and when we get it. Then also, there was a story I put out yesterday from
00:50the RSPCA. Not one to read if you're a big animal lover. Four starved and emaciated dogs
00:57were found left living in squalor in a home just down the road at Maltby actually. The
01:04owner, she has been disallowed from owning animals for some time. They were left in a
01:13very, very bad state. There was also some horses involved. Like I say, if you're an
01:18animal lover, you might want to avoid that but all the details are there. There are some
01:23pictures. Some of them are a little distressing but the animals are doing well now. One has
01:29been re-homed, one of the dogs. The other one is currently looking for a loving home
01:33so please take a look at that if you think you could help out. And then finally, we have
01:42an update on Doncaster Road closures. We try to bring you these every week from the National
01:48Highways the number of roads which are expected to be closed over the next couple of weeks
01:53which you should avoid if you can. There are dozens and dozens. Some of those have been
01:59in place for quite some time. Some are new. So if you're out and about travelling across
02:04the city, please take a quick glance at that and see if you can make your routes any quicker
02:11and easier. So for those three stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster
02:16today, you know where to go. It's just www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and obviously Facebook and X and come on England!
