00:00hey guys another one for our wheels in Japan playlist on our mini series of

00:04crazy drives in Japan so we need a name for these guys we show you these guys

00:10all the time the ones that go through the red light stop in the middle of the

00:13intersection intersection parkers I don't know what do you think guys we

00:20need a name for those guys I've got a few names for these guys the ones who

00:24allow their kids to stand between the seats at the front of the car that's one

00:28of our bugbears that one because it risks kids lives of course and then the

00:34phone zombies phone fools in the car no shortage of those every day every day we

00:42go somewhere in the car we see it's become more and more common we'd

00:46estimate 25% of people seem to do it just as a rough estimate if you pull up

00:52at a set of traffic lights like this and look around there's always someone

00:55staring at the phone and you see them coming towards you that's more scary

00:58with their heads down you'll see a driver coming towards you with their

01:01head down looking in their lap you know they're looking at and on the bikes yep

01:05they do it on the bikes too now this one's actually perfectly legal you can

01:10watch TV or videos or gameplay or whatever you want to do perfectly legal

01:16in Japan to mount it up on the dashboard in front of your face while you're

01:20driving and watch a movie or TV or whatever you want to do as long as you don't touch the

01:25screen so isn't that scary and nobody sees a problem with that I think that's

01:30perfectly okay to do that so following too closely how scary would it be to

01:37look in your mirror like we did and see that cement truck coming flying up

01:42behind so we got out of his way and he was just sort of flying along bullying

01:46people out of his way so he got really close behind him until I'd move over and

01:51of course he's speeding the limit there's about 70 and he's everybody's

01:55speeding but he's right up everybody going faster than everybody else so

02:00pretty scary business isn't it and we've shown you what the results of that we

02:04showed you the route we see the results that all the time on television here too

02:07so black van man something about the van guys because they're working or something

02:12they can drive like crazy people this is a funny one straight piece of road now

02:16have a look in the closed lane there's police car there's firefighters it seems like one

02:24guy fell off his bike somehow on a straight piece of road but the bikes off

02:28to the side as is the rider but all the emergency vehicles are blocking the lane

02:32and that's the only reason the lanes blocked right it's all the police

02:36vehicles and fire trucks and so this is actually on the weekend and the traffic

02:43is banked back for kilometers because that's what they do they'll spend hours

02:47with that lane closed investigating how the guy fell off his bike come come back

02:53two hours later they'll be still sitting there and the traffic will be to more
