00:00Little Miss Tiny by Roger Hargreaves
00:09Little Miss Tiny was extremely small.
00:12Not very tall at all.
00:15She was so very tiny she didn't live in a house.
00:19Do you know where she lived?
00:21In a mouse hole in the dining room of House Farm.
00:25She had made the mouse hole quite comfortable really and luckily there weren't any mice
00:30because the farm cat had chased them all away.
00:34The trouble was, because she was so tiny.
00:38Nobody knew she lived there.
00:40Nobody had noticed her.
00:42Not even the farmer and his wife.
00:45So, there she lived.
00:48All alone.
00:49With nobody to talk to.
00:52She was very lonely.
00:54And sad.
00:55Oh dear.
00:57One day she was feeling so lonely she decided to be very brave and go for a walk.
01:03Out of her mouse hole she came.
01:06She crept across the dining room and went through the crack in the door and into the
01:10hole.
01:11To Little Miss Tiny the hole looked as big as a field and she scuttled across it to the
01:16back door of the farm.
01:19Luckily for her the letterbox was at the bottom of the door and she squeezed herself through
01:23it and onto the doorstep.
01:26It was all very exciting.
01:29There before her was the farmyard.
01:31She went exploring.
01:34She came to a door with a gap at the bottom and ducked in underneath.
01:39There inside, was a pig.
01:41A large pig.
01:43And if you're as small as Little Miss Tiny.
01:46A large pig looks very large indeed.
01:50Miss Tiny looked at the pig.
01:52The pig looked at Miss Tiny.
01:55Oink he grunted, and moved closer to inspect this little person who had entered his sty.
02:01Oh my goodness me squeaked Little Miss Tiny in alarm and shot out of the pigsty as fast
02:07as ever her little legs could carry her.
02:10Which wasn't very fast because her legs were so very little.
02:15She ran right around to the back of the pigsty before she stopped.
02:19She leaned against the wall and put her hands over her eyes and tried to get her breath
02:24back.
02:25Suddenly, she heard a noise.
02:28A very close noise.
02:31A sort of breathing noise.
02:33Very close indeed.
02:35Oh.
02:37She hardly dared take her hands away from her eyes.
02:41But when she did she wished she hadn't.
02:44What do you think it was there right in front of her looking at her with green eyes?
02:50Ginger.
02:51The farm cat.
02:53Poor Little Miss Tiny.
02:55Ginger grinned, showing his teeth.
02:58Help, shrieked Miss Tiny at the top of her voice.
03:02Oh somebody please help.
03:05The trouble was, the top of Little Miss Tiny's voice was not a very loud place.
03:12Ginger grinned another grin.
03:14Every day Mr. Strong went to home farm to bit some eggs.
03:18He liked eggs.
03:20Lots of them.
03:22That day he was walking home across the farmyard when he heard a very tiny squeak.
03:28He stopped.
03:30There it was again.
03:32Round the corner.
03:34He looked round the corner and saw Ginger and the poor trapped Little Miss Tiny.
03:39Shoo, said Mr. Strong to Ginger and picked up Little Miss Tiny.
03:44Very gently.
03:45Hello he said.
03:48Who are you?
03:49I'm.
03:50I'm.
03:51I'm.
03:52Miss Tiny.
03:53You are, aren't you, smiled Mr. Strong.
03:58Well, if I was as tiny as you I wouldn't go wandering around large farmyards.
04:04But.
04:06Shoo, said Miss Tiny and told Mr. Strong about how she was so lonely she had to come
04:11out to find somebody to talk to.
04:14Oh dear, said Mr. Strong.
04:17Well now, let's see if we can't find you some friends to talk to.
04:22And now every week, Mr. Strong collects Little Miss Tiny and takes her off to see her friends.
04:29Three weeks ago he took her to see Mr. Funny who told her so many jokes she just couldn't
04:35stop laughing all day.
04:37Two weeks ago he took her to see Mr. Greedy.
04:41He told her his recipe for his favorite meal.
04:45But that's much much too much for tiny little me.
04:49She laughed.
04:51Mr. Greedy grinned.
04:53For you he said, divide by a hundred.
04:57Last week Mr. Strong took her to see Mr. Silly.
05:01And Mr. Silly showed her how to stand on your head.
05:05That's very silly giggled Little Miss Tiny.
05:09Thank you replied Mr. Silly modestly.
05:12And guess who she met this week?
05:15Somebody who's become a special little friend.
05:18I never thought I'd ever meet anybody smaller than myself laughed Mr. Small.
05:24Little Miss Tiny looked up at him and smiled.
05:28You wait till I grow up she said.
05:31The End.
