00:00Anybody who takes the stuff isn't affected negatively by it.
00:02Do you agree with Trump that those who were at the Capitol on January 6th, all of them
00:07should be freed from any prosecution?
00:09Well, I think what Trump has said is that non-violent offenders should be freed of prosecution.
00:13If you walked into the Capitol peacefully, if a police officer said that you should come,
00:18you know, if you're, there's of course the case of the 72-year-old grandmother who was
00:21praying at the United States Capitol.
00:23Should she have the weight of the law thrown at her?
00:25Absolutely not.
00:26And absolutely, I think that a lot of these people do deserve pardons.
00:29Of course, if you committed violence, if you beat up a police officer, that's a different
00:33situation.
00:34But what we've seen the Biden administration do here is apply two very different sets of
00:38standards of justice.
00:39And unfortunately, a lot of peaceful protesters on January the 6th have had the law thrown
00:44at them.
00:45And that's a real travesty.
00:46That's all we've got time for, guys.
00:47That's all we've got time for.
00:48What does tonight do to the Senate now, in terms of, you know, your prospect of being
00:52a chief?
00:53That's an interesting question.
00:54You know, I haven't thought about that, Sahil, but I guess my instinct would be tonight helps
00:58Donald Trump.
00:59And because it helps Donald Trump, it probably helps Senate Republicans.
01:02There are a few seats where, well, the basic lay of the land is every single race, Senate
01:08Republicans are running behind Donald Trump.
01:10OK, some states it's three points, some states it's seven or eight points.
01:13But I think that what you see in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Montana, is Trump winning
01:19in a very big way is going to guarantee a lot of Senate Republican victories down ballot.
01:24Tonight helped Trump.
01:25I think it's going to help the Senate Republicans, too.
01:27All right.
01:28Thanks, guys.
01:29Have a good one.
01:30Thank you, Senator.
