Having survived the dreaded Labyrinth Zone, Sonic finds himself along the pretty Star Light Zone. As peaceful as the Zone appears to be, it has been overrun by Robotnik's forces and rigged with many dangerous flamethrowers and other traps.
At long last, Sonic finds Robotnik's massive robot factory known as the Scrap Brain Zone. The evil doctor throws out all the stops, with more hazards in this area than all the previous ones combined. Once inside the main complex, Robotnik lures Sonic into a trap and sends the hero to a polluted version of the Labyrinth Zone in a last-ditch effort to thwart his progress. Of course, Sonic escapes the trap with ease and the stage is set for the final showdown...
