00:00Hi, I'm Sophie Williamson, NME, and I'm joined by English teacher at Glastonbury.
00:10Hi guys, how are we doing?
00:12Doing alright.
00:13Hiya.
00:14Bad.
00:15On stage last night, Lilly, obviously you said your croaky voice was to blame for the
00:18Fonteyn's DC set.
00:20How was that experience for you guys, watching one of your favourite bands all together?
00:23Yeah, it was amazing.
00:24It's something we've been really looking forward to, like, you know, we all love Fonteyn's
00:27so much.
00:28It felt like a proper moment, yeah, it was really nice, surrounded by loads of friends,
00:34they absolutely smashed it, yeah, it was great, I had a great time.
00:37It was like, it was interesting because I had a really good time, but then also it made
00:41me think about, like, I don't know who I turned to, and I was like, you know, loads of people
00:46whined about there not being, like, any, like, classic, really good, like, bands anymore
00:49and music's dead and stuff, but I was like, this is, this feels like, you know, all those
00:55like classic sets in Glastonbury over the years and stuff, like the atmosphere and the
00:58crowd and stuff.
00:59So you guys have had a super busy touring schedule in the run-up to Glastonbury, you're
01:03on the road in the US, how did the crowds out there differ to what you see in the UK?
01:08What was that like for you?
01:09I feel like all the shows sold really well, but Philadelphia, for some reason, it was
01:13quite, like, undersold, and yet they were, like, so loud and, like, making conversation.
01:19That was great, that was like in, like, a little evening hangout, that was amazing,
01:23yeah.
01:24Yeah, definitely.
01:25Yeah, it's, yeah, absolutely loved that tour.
01:27What was, like, the maddest thing someone said to you after a set out there?
01:33I think after the New York show, I went outside and just, like, this guy came up to me and
01:39was, like, oh, I really enjoyed the set, I live here, he was saying he was from Sheffield
01:43and then I was, like, I went to see the Richard Hawley musical the other day and he was, like,
01:47oh, I was with Richard the other day and then just told me this mad story about Richard
01:51Hawley, I was, like, what am I doing in New York, like, and some guy who's friends with
01:54Richard Hawley is just telling me, like, mad, anyway, that was pretty crazy.
01:57Yeah.
