00:00Back to Nashville. Nashville is always a great time in the city, sometimes on the racetrack.
00:06And I thought it was pretty good yesterday. I thought we saw some good racing in the first segment, good racing in the second segment.
00:12And then Mother Nature shows up. That seems to be the NASCAR season this year.
00:16But what I want to talk about is what went on later in those overtimes.
00:21We had some fantastic racing between Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain for the last 10 or 15 laps of the race.
00:28Block, block, block, block. I don't consider blocking racing, but that's what was going on.
00:33Now we get to the overtimes. One overtime. Two overtimes. Three overtimes. Four overtimes. Five overtimes?
00:43What is the world coming to? Listen, a fuel stop was only what, 60 or 70 laps it seemed like?
00:49We ran more overtime laps than you run in a regular fuel stop.
00:53These guys have to do a better job on these overtimes.
00:57We can't have these wrecks. And all of these wrecks are starting in the first three or four rows.
01:02Circle back to blocking. Blocking.
01:05These guys are trying to get everything they can on the restart. I completely understand that.
01:10But taking each other out, knocking each other out.
01:13These are the greatest drivers in the world, and they can't run three laps.
01:16What is up with that? They've got to get better about this. You can't have that.
01:21NASCAR's got to step in and say, two attempts, one attempt, I don't care.
01:25When is racing going to come back into the sport?
01:28And blocking be a penalty in the sport? It has to be at some point in time.
01:33It has to be a penalty to take a guy's line away and to intentionally block.
01:38Do like Formula One. Do like other sports. You get one or two during the race, that's all you get.
01:42Once you use that juice up, you're out.
01:44So when it comes down to the end of the race and everybody's through blocking,
01:47we're going to have some great green-white checkers.
