Mack the Knife, also known as Dr. Mack, is a 1995 Hong Kong comedy-drama film written, produced and directed by Lee Chi-ngai, based on the manga Dr. Kumahige (流氓医生) by Buronson (武論尊) and Takumi Nagaysu (ながやす巧). The film stars Tony Leung Chiu-wai (梁朝偉), Sean Lau Ching-wan (劉青雲), Alex To Tak-wai 杜德偉), Christy Chung Lai-tai (Andy Hui Chi-on (許志安), Hilary Tsui Ho-ying (徐濠縈), Eileen Tung Oi-Ling (童愛玲) and Gigi Leung Wing-kei (梁詠琪) in her debut film role.

Dr. Mack Lau (Tony) is a brilliant if somewhat seedy doctor working in the slums of Hong Kong. His old medical school buddy/rival, Dr. Roger Law (Alex), has become a celebrated surgeon, yet he still feels inferior to Mack. When their old professor, Professor Pau (吳耀漢 Richard Ng Yiu-hon) becomes sick and counsels Mack, Roger finds a way to pay his old rival back, which doesn’t mean good things for Mack. Lau Ching-Wan co-stars as a charmless cop in love with a local prostitute, Lok Mei (Eileen) and Andy Hui is a naive intern Dr. Sam So who volunteers in Mack’s clinic and ends up falling in love with bone cancer patient, Zin (Hilary).

00:04:20I'm the 7th Hong Kong Police Shooting Champion.
00:04:24I'm also the legendary city hunter.
00:04:27As long as the bullet can penetrate my body,
00:04:29I can hit the target.
00:04:31So I advise you to put down your gun and surrender.
00:04:33Don't be ridiculous.
00:04:34Sir, are you out of your mind?
00:04:36I just have confidence in the Hong Kong Police.
00:04:38It's not that you don't have confidence.
00:04:40Don't be so low-key.
00:04:42Put down your gun or I'll shoot him in the head.
00:04:48I'll give you one last chance.
00:04:50I'll count to three and you'll put down your gun.
00:04:55I'm counting.
00:04:57Three.
00:05:00Three.
00:05:01Call an ambulance.
00:05:02Sir, I didn't count.
00:05:03One, two, three.
00:05:05I've always been careful.
00:05:12His heart is weak.
00:05:13He won't be able to hit the target.
00:05:14Sir, call an ambulance.
00:05:16Hold the soldier.
00:05:17Don't let him bleed again.
00:05:18Okay.
00:05:19I'll call an ambulance.
00:05:20Thank you.
00:05:21Miss, are you okay?
00:05:22I'm fine.
00:05:23I'm fine.
00:05:24What's wrong?
00:05:26I have a car.
00:05:27Let's go.
00:05:32Police!
00:05:33Come and drive.
00:05:34But I don't have a license.
00:05:36I told you to get a license.
00:05:38Give it to me.
00:05:39How can a policeman not have a license?
00:05:41How can you say that to me?
00:05:42Can't a policeman not have a license?
00:05:43I'm a criminal.
00:05:47Miss, you don't have a license.
00:05:48Come back!
00:05:49Miss!
00:05:52Miss, this man was shot in the head.
00:05:54The bullet is still inside.
00:05:55Prepare 540 bullets.
00:05:57Did you report the case?
00:05:58Detective, this man was shot in the head.
00:05:59He was pretending to be dead.
00:06:02Where are you going?
00:06:03Where are you going?
00:06:05You can't do this.
00:06:07Are you Mr. Dong?
00:06:08What's the matter, Miss?
00:06:09If this man doesn't lose, he can't hold out for 10 minutes.
00:06:11Do you want to die?
00:06:13He said he wanted to lose blood.
00:06:14You know that.
00:06:16It's just a matter of time.
00:06:18The officer said
00:06:19if he doesn't have a license,
00:06:20he can't use it.
00:06:21What did the officer say?
00:06:22He went to the study with the students.
00:06:24He can't use it.
00:06:25You can't harass him.
00:06:27In this situation,
00:06:28a doctor must have a license.
00:06:34Prepare blood.
00:06:35500 cc is a match.
00:06:37What about the patients here?
00:06:39Leave it to me.
00:06:40I'm a doctor, too.
00:06:42Dr. So,
00:06:43what's this for?
00:06:48You like to watch that show of yours?
00:06:50Are you in school?
00:06:51No, I'm not.
00:06:52No?
00:06:53I have a lot of LDs at home.
00:06:55Really?
00:06:56How did you cure all the patients so quickly?
00:06:58Yes.
00:06:59I sent all the serious ones to Deng.
00:07:00I sent all the mild ones to them.
00:07:01They'll come to see me tomorrow.
00:07:02How's the patient?
00:07:04He just lost blood.
00:07:05His condition is a bit stable now.
00:07:06I can do a computer scan soon.
00:07:09I'll come back to see you later.
00:07:10Did you just finish the show?
00:07:12Yes.
00:07:13I just did a three-day M.O.
00:07:14Tonight is the first night of the night shift.
00:07:16How did you know?
00:07:17Are you watching?
00:07:18I have a little experience.
00:07:19I won't take this.
00:07:21Why don't you have my license
00:07:22if you want to do a computer scan?
00:07:34Can you do a computer scan this time?
00:07:36Anytime.
00:07:37I think being a nurse
00:07:38is just as important as being a police officer.
00:07:41What time do you finish work?
00:07:44The bullet
00:07:45is stuck in the middle of the skull.
00:07:49Is there anyone who can tell me
00:07:50how this surgery should be done?
00:07:53Just cut the head here
00:07:55and pull it out.
00:07:57It's not that simple.
00:08:01If you pull it out directly,
00:08:03there are two problems.
00:08:05First,
00:08:06this bullet is a police witness.
00:08:08Any pliers
00:08:09will scratch the bullet.
00:08:11That means it's a damaged witness.
00:08:13Second,
00:08:15as you can see,
00:08:16this bullet is almost
00:08:17parallel to the skull.
00:08:18If you don't pull it out
00:08:20carefully,
00:08:21there's a bigger chance
00:08:22that you'll get shot.
00:08:24So,
00:08:25we should
00:08:26make a hole
00:08:27around the bullet
00:08:28in the skull.
00:08:30We'll take the bullet
00:08:31and the skull out
00:08:32together
00:08:33and give it to the police.
00:08:34It'll be cheaper
00:08:35and easier.
00:08:36But it will damage
00:08:37the skull and the surrounding cells.
00:08:39There will be sequelae.
00:08:40That's a shame.
00:08:42The victim
00:08:43will have sequelae
00:08:44in the future.
00:08:45It's a sequelae
00:08:46in the future.
00:08:48He's a thief.
00:08:49He'll die anyway.
00:08:50Thank you.
00:08:52George,
00:08:53the foreign department said
00:08:54they can't get
00:08:55a surgeon
00:08:56to do the surgery.
00:08:58What should we do?
00:08:59Well,
00:09:03I'll do it.
00:09:04No one else can do it.
00:09:05Thank you.
00:09:06Wait a minute.
00:09:08I forgot to introduce you.
00:09:10This is my best friend
00:09:11whom I haven't seen in years.
00:09:12I know.
00:09:13You're Dr. Lam.
00:09:14Nice to meet you.
00:09:15You're my idol.
00:09:16You and Dr. Cho
00:09:17were the two
00:09:18best doctors in the medical school.
00:09:20I've seen your photo
00:09:21in the medical school.
00:09:22Yes, I've seen it too.
00:09:23Thank you.
00:09:25I didn't expect
00:09:26to have fans in a decade.
00:09:28How about
00:09:29we ask Dr. Lau
00:09:30to give us some advice?
00:09:31Okay.
00:09:33I'd love to,
00:09:34but I have to
00:09:35go back to the police station
00:09:36to do my job.
00:09:37I'm sorry.
00:09:39But it's okay.
00:09:40My clinic is nearby.
00:09:41It's on the street.
00:09:42If you have any questions,
00:09:43feel free to ask me.
00:09:44Thank you.
00:09:45Thank you.
00:09:46Are you two dating?
00:09:48You don't have to be so formal.
00:09:49I can tell just by looking at your hair.
00:09:51Have you been to bed?
00:09:52It's very dangerous
00:09:53to be infected with A.
00:09:54Thank you.
00:09:55Thank you.
00:09:57Hey,
00:09:58your eyes are yellow.
00:09:59You might have liver problems.
00:10:01Thank you.
00:10:02Thank you.
00:10:03You're right.
00:10:05I do have a sequelae.
00:10:11Are you done?
00:10:12Let's go.
00:10:13You're really leaving?
00:10:14Yes, yes.
00:10:16Since we're all here,
00:10:17why don't we
00:10:18give the students a break?
00:10:22You're right.
00:10:23It's not that I don't want to.
00:10:25You don't know how to dance.
00:10:28But my method is more primitive.
00:10:30I don't know if you can accept it.
00:10:32I'll just tell you.
00:10:34Thank you.
00:10:39In my opinion,
00:10:40we should first remove the head,
00:10:42then use a pair of scissors
00:10:43to hold the end of the bullet,
00:10:45then wrap it with a piece of dry ice
00:10:47to keep the bullet cool.
00:10:49Because when the bullet
00:10:50shoots into the head,
00:10:51it's a heat-generating material.
00:10:52Now that it's suddenly cold,
00:10:54it will shrink a lot
00:10:56and it's easy to get the bullet out.
00:10:58Thank you.
00:10:59So that's how it works.
00:11:00But
00:11:01it will damage the bullet.
00:11:02Yes, it will.
00:11:04But does it have anything to do with us?
00:11:06We're doctors.
00:11:07The doctor's job
00:11:08is to save the wounded in the best way possible.
00:11:10What about the police?
00:11:12It's the police's problem.
00:11:14Right, police?
00:11:16Since the police insists,
00:11:17there's nothing we can do.
00:11:19Let's go, police.
00:11:20Let's go.
00:11:27Can you make it bigger?
00:11:29A pair of scissors wrapped in dry ice.
00:11:31Have you ever thought about
00:11:32Dr. Cho Chi Kiet
00:11:33who's a senior surgeon in Shanghai?
00:11:35How long have you been
00:11:36helping people in the streets
00:11:37to cure the disease?
00:11:39Heaven is like hell.
00:11:41So what?
00:11:42So what?
00:11:43So many students worshipped me just now.
00:11:45I didn't say a word,
00:11:46and they left.
00:11:47They were disappointed,
00:11:48so I said a few words.
00:11:49Right.
00:11:50Just don't kill my witness.
00:11:54The nurses in this hospital
00:11:55don't wear undergarments.
00:11:56You're a doctor.
00:11:59I aimed at his hand,
00:12:00but how did I hit his brain?
00:12:03I saw it.
00:12:05Who designed your face?
00:12:07You can tell I'm a cop
00:12:08just by looking at my face.
00:12:10I cover my eyebrows.
00:12:12It's the easiest way
00:12:13for people to recognize my eyebrows.
00:12:16You keep telling the police
00:12:17not to leave.
00:12:18Do they really stop and stay?
00:12:19I've never done that.
00:12:21That's a waste of time.
00:12:23I can't help it.
00:12:24The police keep leaving,
00:12:25and I keep leaving.
00:12:26People think I'm a cop.
00:12:27Look at me.
00:12:28Right, you're a bit dark.
00:12:31Do you have dried ice?
00:12:32Make some dried ice.
00:12:34Dried ice?
00:12:35Yes, dried ice.
00:13:00I'm sorry.
00:13:16Hello?
00:13:17Hi.
00:13:19You just got back?
00:13:20Yes.
00:13:22I'm sorry.
00:13:23I couldn't come to your party.
00:13:24It's okay.
00:13:26The only thing is
00:13:28you couldn't hear
00:13:29what I was saying.
00:13:34They said
00:13:35you'd win
00:13:36this year's gold medal.
00:13:39Really?
00:13:40How is that possible?
00:13:41You haven't even started cooking.
00:13:43Everyone is talking about you.
00:13:45They said you did
00:13:46the most outstanding surgery
00:13:47in half a year.
00:13:50Everyone is talking about you.
00:13:54About what?
00:13:56About the dried ice and the bullet.
00:13:59Why are we so lucky?
00:14:04It's nothing.
00:14:06So,
00:14:07do you like flowers?
00:14:09You know I don't like roses.
00:14:11I sent them to the hostess.
00:14:13She was very happy.
00:14:14She thought you couldn't go,
00:14:16so she sent flowers to apologize.
00:14:18What if
00:14:20I don't go?
00:14:23Why don't I come over now?
00:14:25It's late.
00:14:26Everyone is tired.
00:14:27Go to bed early.
00:14:33I just want to come over
00:14:34and talk to you.
00:14:40Tonight,
00:14:43I want to see Liu Man.
00:14:45Shit.
00:14:50I'm really tired.

00:14:56Okay.
00:14:58Good night.
00:15:02Good night.
00:15:25What?
00:15:26What color is this?
00:15:28No.
00:15:30This color is sick.
00:15:32Who said that?
00:15:34No.
00:15:35Come here again tomorrow.
00:15:37I'll check it for you.
00:15:39Do I have to?
00:15:41You're a nurse.
00:15:42You should know
00:15:43that nails
00:15:44are the key to good health.
00:15:47I don't need it.
00:15:48I don't need it.
00:15:50I don't need it.
00:15:52I don't need it.
00:15:53It's a gun.
00:15:55I don't know.
00:16:00I want to ask you
00:16:01if you know Liu Man.
00:16:02You're crazy.
00:16:03I know her.
00:16:04Find her.
00:16:05Go away.
00:16:07You're crazy.
00:16:09Do it.
00:16:15No.

00:16:27No.
00:16:28No.
00:16:30No.
00:16:31How can it not be 4-9 single kill?
00:16:39How can it be 4-9 single kill?
00:16:43Hey,強仔!
00:16:44What's up?
00:16:45You're so lucky to be caught.
00:16:47That's right.
00:16:48Have you had tea yet, Dr. Lau?
00:16:49What do you mean?
00:16:50You said it, it's possible.
00:16:51It's not 4-9 in the 7th round.
00:16:53What do you think about the 8th round?
00:16:55What are you doing?
00:16:56What are you doing?
00:16:57What are you doing?
00:16:58I'm just saying a few words.
00:17:00What did you want to see me about?
00:17:02Oh, nothing.
00:17:03How's it going?
00:17:04Did you get a single kill?
00:17:05I got a kill.
00:17:06Why do you have such a bad breath?
00:17:08Is there something wrong with you?
00:17:10Hey, be honest.
00:17:12Have your kids finished school yet?
00:17:14They're waiting for you to start work.
00:17:16Oh, now even my partner doesn't want to see me.
00:17:19I really want him to come back and see me.
00:17:22I don't want to have to deal with the landlord every day.
00:17:26If you don't get a single kill,
00:17:28you won't be able to pay your rent this month.
00:17:31I told you not to let your patients
00:17:33send you so many letters.
00:17:36Did you get a single kill?
00:17:38Why are you so stingy?
00:17:39Who wants to go first?
00:17:44You go first.
00:17:46You go in first.
00:17:48Open your eyes.
00:17:50You don't look good.
00:17:54You're not in a hurry, are you?
00:17:56I'm not in a hurry.
00:17:57You take care of the outside for me.
00:17:59Okay.
00:18:00Just some ordinary things.
00:18:02Like the flowers.
00:18:03Okay.
00:18:04That's right.
00:18:05You should have asked the doctor to come back earlier.
00:18:08Look at the mess here.
00:18:12What's your name?
00:18:14My name is Su.
00:18:15Oh, Dr. Su.
00:18:24Dr. Su, the doctor is here.
00:18:27Please come in.
00:18:28You can do it yourself.
00:18:35Is the landlord on leave today?
00:18:37San Fu.
00:18:38Yes.
00:18:39The patient needs to be tested for blood.
00:18:40Go with him to draw blood.
00:18:41Okay.
00:18:42Good morning.
00:18:43Dr. Lau.
00:18:44I was just talking to Mao.
00:18:48I want to use your clinic for a while.
00:18:50Yes, Dr. Lau.
00:18:52This is the most convenient place for us to talk.
00:18:56Yes.
00:18:57The police won't come in, right?
00:18:59The whole street is full of police.
00:19:03What are you doing?
00:19:04Don't go.
00:19:05Don't go.
00:19:06You're just talking about the welfare of the neighborhood.
00:19:10It's just a social issue, right?
00:19:12Why don't you talk in front of the neighbors?
00:19:23Papa.
00:19:24Yes?
00:19:25You first.
00:19:26Okay.
00:19:27Yes.
00:19:28This way.
00:19:29This way.
00:19:31Wow, it's so big.
00:19:44I want to be a doctor like you.
00:19:53Thank you.
00:19:54You're getting old.
00:19:55You're going to write it down as soon as you think of it?
00:19:57No.
00:19:58You'll forget it when you turn around.
00:19:59No.
00:20:00I want to be a doctor like you.
00:20:04You have a government doctor who doesn't do it, and you want to be like me?
00:20:07I know.
00:20:09You must have been very ambitious and idealistic since you were a child.
00:20:12You wanted to be a doctor with a good reputation.
00:20:14You went to Africa to be a doctor.
00:20:16You even planned to get a Nobel Prize for medicine before you were 50.
00:20:19Yes.
00:20:20I really wanted to join the United Nations Medical Force in Africa.
00:20:22But I never thought of winning the Nobel Prize when I was 16.
00:20:27You're ambitious.
00:20:28Thank you.
00:20:30But you don't suit me.
00:20:31Huh?
00:20:34Wow.
00:20:36No way.
00:20:38Uncle.
00:20:39Huh?
00:20:40You called me?
00:20:42I'm sorry.
00:20:43You can't eat here.
00:20:45No face-to-face holiday.
00:20:46No face-to-face holiday?
00:20:47No.
00:20:48It's okay.
00:20:49You're inviting me?
00:20:51You have to get the certificate.
00:20:54Uncle, you seem to be fine.
00:20:56I'm fine.
00:20:57I just got a job.
00:20:59Why didn't you tell me earlier?
00:21:00I wouldn't have lost it.
00:21:03The audition was cancelled yesterday.
00:21:05I'm leaving.
00:21:06Thank you.
00:21:07Keep watching, Uncle.
00:21:18I'm sorry.
00:21:19I'm sorry.
00:21:20Hey.
00:21:21Didn't he come to get the certificate?
00:21:24Who is he?
00:21:25If you don't want to see him, bring him here.
00:21:27Bring him here.
00:21:28Bring him here.
00:21:29Bring him here.
00:21:38If you want to see him, just go and find him.
00:21:40Why do you have to keep looking around?
00:21:42I'm sorry.
00:21:43I'm sorry.
00:21:44I'm sorry.
00:21:45I'm sorry.
00:21:46I'm sorry.
00:21:47Why do you have to keep looking around?
00:21:49Didn't you ask him to come?
00:21:50He's different.
00:21:51He doesn't just pick up any customer.
00:21:54What kind of person is he?
00:21:55He's so different.
00:21:56He's a newcomer.
00:21:57He's famous all over the Hong Kong and New Territories.
00:21:59He's a pervert.
00:22:00This guy should be beaten up.
00:22:03Dr Liu.
00:22:04Do you think he'll be a good match for you?
00:22:06He's a pervert.
00:22:07He's a pervert.
00:22:08He's a pervert.
00:22:09He's a pervert.
00:22:10I know you can do it.
00:22:12I don't know.
00:22:13He's so nervous.
00:22:14He's a pervert.
00:22:15He's a pervert.
00:22:16Why is Dr Liu so close to him?
00:22:19Good morning, Dr. Choi.
00:22:21You know,
00:22:22Liu Wen and I were both doctors.
00:22:27One time, our boss asked me to prescribe a medicine to a patient.
00:22:30But I didn't know the name of the patient.
00:22:33The patient's reaction was bad.
00:22:35He had difficulty breathing.
00:22:37His muscles were cramped.
00:22:41Liu Wen was so confident
00:22:43that he wanted to operate on the patient's organs.
00:22:46He drilled a hole in his throat so he could breathe.
00:22:51I warned him.
00:22:52I said, as a doctor,
00:22:54I didn't have the right to do this kind of surgery.
00:22:57But Liu Wen was so determined
00:23:00to save the patient.
00:23:03But after the patient recovered,
00:23:04he wanted to sue the hospital.
00:23:07Our boss
00:23:08gave me the prescription.
00:23:11I thought I was going to die.
00:23:13But Liu Wen
00:23:15didn't even think about it.
00:23:16He helped me cover up the mistake.
00:23:18He just couldn't do it?
00:23:22We haven't seen each other since that time.
00:23:25I heard he went abroad
00:23:27and got a British medal for his medical work.
00:23:30You don't seem to be thinking about him
00:23:32because you feel guilty.
00:23:38I've never felt guilty.
00:23:41I graduated from a prestigious university.
00:23:44In less than ten years,
00:23:45I became the chairman of the medical committee.
00:23:47The Hong Kong lady elected me as a judge.
00:23:50The East China Mountain asked me to be the prime minister.
00:23:52But why should I care about someone
00:23:54who's just a doctor in a remote area?
00:23:59Because he's better than you.
00:24:03Forget it, Roger.
00:24:05If you admit that you hate him,
00:24:08you'll be better than him.
00:24:13It's useless to know.
00:24:16I don't mean it's useless to care about him.
00:24:21In terms of Yin and Yang,
00:24:24the heaven is in the middle of the Yang.
00:24:27The death of the Yin person
00:24:30is between heaven and earth.
00:24:32The one who is assisted by the Yin and Yang
00:24:35will have a bright future.
00:24:40No one understands that
00:24:42the highest level of science
00:24:44is based on one thing,
00:24:46which is philosophy.
00:24:48Only two-and-a-half people in the medical field
00:24:50understand this principle.
00:24:52You and me.
00:24:53What about the other half?
00:24:55What other half?
00:24:57You said only two-and-a-half people
00:24:59in the medical field understand this principle.
00:25:01You and me.
00:25:02Who's the other half?
00:25:04Oh, that one.
00:25:05Oh, that one.
00:25:06He was punished to stay in the training room for three nights.
00:25:09He's not allowed to go to my class anymore.
00:25:12George Kit?
00:25:14Yes, that's him.
00:25:17But I don't agree with you.
00:25:19I thought so, too.
00:25:21But he came to me recently
00:25:24to help me store my research data.
00:25:28You know I don't use a computer.
00:25:31Oh, there's more.
00:25:33It seems to have a little effect.
00:25:43We've been practicing for a year.
00:25:46If there's no problem,
00:25:49we don't need the most revolutionary theory
00:25:53in the medical field.
00:25:55Then the whole world will be surprised.
00:25:58Hong Kong is a place of evil.
00:26:01You and I
00:26:03may be the first Chinese
00:26:05to win the Nobel Prize for Medicine.
00:26:09Mr. Bao.
00:26:12I know.
00:26:13We shouldn't give up the thesis
00:26:15for the prize.
00:26:18I've been in the medical field for more than 40 years.
00:26:21I'm allowed to be a little greedy.
00:26:24Right?
00:26:26Come on.
00:26:27Let's have a drink.
00:26:32You're really delicate.
00:26:37I know you've been wanting to write my thesis for a long time.
00:26:40Just for a while.
00:26:41Don't be stubborn.
00:26:44You're so stingy.
00:26:47I'll pour it for you.
00:26:52Hurry up.
00:26:53How can you have an abortion now?
00:26:55I went to the hospital with Wei.
00:26:56I want to sue you.
00:26:57What abortion?
00:26:58Miss, I don't know you.
00:26:59Who are you looking for?
00:27:00Of course you don't know me.
00:27:01Dr. Liu Min.
00:27:02His name is worse than mine.
00:27:04Are you looking for Dr. Liu Min?
00:27:06He's in there.
00:27:09Abortion?
00:27:11Take off your clothes and go to bed.
00:27:16You're Dr. Liu Min?
00:27:20I told you.
00:27:21I'm Wei.
00:27:22Wei and I had an abortion two nights ago.
00:27:25I'm here to apologize to you.
00:27:29I haven't had an abortion with anyone recently.
00:27:31Is it the aunt next door?
00:27:33Maybe I made a mistake.
00:27:37I recognize you.
00:27:38You're the rich girl who sent me to the hospital last time.
00:27:41Yes, I'm May.
00:27:43But don't call me a rich girl.
00:27:46It's so romantic to be a doctor in such a remote place.
00:27:57Is it so hot tonight?
00:27:58Yes, how did you know?
00:28:00Drink more water, don't eat too many mangoes.
00:28:04Where's aunt?
00:28:05Aunt?
00:28:06Aunt's nephew is the Hong Kong Miss Champion.
00:28:08Now he's hiring her.
00:28:10Both of them are late.
00:28:12That's too bad.
00:28:13Who can do the hard work?
00:28:17Thank you.
00:28:22Min, do you have time to talk in a quiet place?
00:28:26China Medical Research Association has been studying for more than ten years
00:28:30how to integrate Chinese and Western medical cultures.
00:28:32If the research is successful,
00:28:34it will be a global shock to the medical world.
00:28:39You seem to be interested in Lu Bao's research.
00:28:45Why don't you look for Lu Bao yourself?
00:28:47He asked me to look for you.
00:28:49I've talked to the medical association.
00:28:51I suggest to use the name Lu Bao as a fundraising fund.
00:28:55I'll announce it on the 100th anniversary of the medical association on Sunday.
00:29:01In fact, it all depends on whether Lu Bao's information is public or not.
00:29:06Min, there's something you should know.
00:29:11Two months ago, they wanted to force Lu Bao to retire.
00:29:14They even said they would stop his research.
00:29:19Now, not only does he not have to fire Lu Bao,
00:29:22he's also given the position of the permanent hospital director to him.
00:29:27In fact, I don't think medical research is a good idea.
00:29:32In fact, I think medical research should belong to everyone.
00:29:36It should be made public sooner or later.
00:29:38But you have to make it public first.
00:29:40Okay, no problem.
00:29:44I have the research information.
00:29:46I'll give it to you on the anniversary.
00:29:50I'd like to see how you're going to make Lu Bao famous.
00:29:54I think we should work together.
00:29:59Dr. Lau.
00:30:01Dr. Tsai.
00:30:02I'm leaving.
00:30:03Don't forget to come on Sunday.
00:30:07You're leaving so soon, Dr. Lau.
00:30:09I don't even remember to thank him.
00:30:11Last time, I gave him a hard time.
00:30:14I don't know how to cure him.
00:30:16Now he's awake.
00:30:17He can talk.
00:30:18That's strange.
00:30:19Did you do anything?
00:30:20Didn't you do anything for me?
00:30:22You're not on a diet, are you?
00:30:23You're so careless.
00:30:25Have you taken your medicine?
00:30:27Dr. Lau.
00:30:28Mei.
00:30:29Find a chair.
00:30:30Okay.
00:30:31Sit down.
00:30:35We're going to eat here again?
00:30:37Yes.
00:30:40You scared me.
00:30:44Is this book written by you?
00:30:46Yes.
00:30:47Can you lend it to me?
00:30:50Because I've read a Chinese book.
00:30:52It's about a group of people who haven't eaten noodles.
00:30:55It's a Parisian book.
00:30:57It's very interesting.
00:30:58Okay.
00:30:59I haven't introduced you.
00:31:01This is my new colleague, Dr. Su.
00:31:04This is Mei.
00:31:05This is Luo Mei.
00:31:09Why are you still here?
00:31:11Dr. Su asked me to be a registered nurse.
00:31:13Hey, you just said it.
00:31:15Can I stay here for a while?
00:31:17I want to study medicine in the future.
00:31:19You don't have to go to school?
00:31:21Isn't your father a rich man who can donate his library?
00:31:25Don't say that.
00:31:30Dr. Lau.
00:31:31Let's eat at my house.
00:31:33You don't have to eat here every day.
00:31:35Okay.
00:31:37Thank you.
00:31:39I'm too busy today.
00:31:40I'll cook for myself tomorrow.
00:31:43I'm leaving.
00:31:45Bye.
00:31:47I said it before.
00:31:51I really said it before.
00:31:53It's not just an ordinary book.
00:31:56It's a high-class book.
00:31:58It's very popular.
00:32:00It's very famous.
00:32:02What do you know?
00:32:04You know English and French.
00:32:09You were born in Guiyang, Guiyang.
00:32:13You were very eager to study.
00:32:14When I was a kid, I loved to read.
00:32:16I'd read all kinds of books.
00:32:17The books I know now are all from him.
00:32:19Do you need me to lend you my computer?
00:32:23Why do you know so many English words?
00:32:26I don't know how to drive.
00:32:28I don't know how to swim.
00:32:29I don't know how to drive.
00:32:30I don't know how to use a calculator.
00:32:32I'm like a pig.
00:32:33Don't say that.
00:32:34I didn't introduce you to him.
00:32:35He didn't even look me in the eye.
00:32:36Now I don't even know if I can eat.
00:32:39You're so experienced.
00:32:40Can't you tell?
00:32:44When a girl is interested in someone,
00:32:48she'll show off in public.
00:32:54You're crazy.
00:32:57You know her well.
00:32:59Why did she invite you to dinner?
00:33:01Why didn't she invite me?
00:33:03What did I do?
00:33:05It's none of your business.
00:33:06Did you visit her?
00:33:07How many times?
00:33:08It's none of your business.
00:33:09You're such a jerk.
00:33:10You're not a doctor.
00:33:11You're a chicken.
00:33:14Help!
00:33:16Help!
00:33:44Help!
00:34:00Ah Man.

00:34:07Thank you.
00:34:10Mr. Bao.
00:34:12Talk to Mr. Bao.
00:34:15Today's graduation is a hot topic.
00:34:18You're officially a doctor today.
00:34:21Remember to follow my theory.
00:34:24Got it?
00:34:26I've been a doctor for over 10 years.
00:34:28I'm a doctor now.
00:34:29Really?
00:34:42I'm sorry, sir.
00:34:44I know I was rude.

00:36:45He is also the chairperson of Professor Bao's charity foundation.
00:36:48Oh, I know him.
00:36:51He's an expert.
00:36:54This is Dr. Liu Min.
00:36:56Oh, Dr. Liu.
00:36:57I heard from Roger that you helped a lot with this case.
00:37:00Don't mention it.
00:37:01Professor Bao's business is my business.
00:37:03Thank you.
00:37:05It's no problem for me to sit next to Mr. Kee Tong.
00:37:10I won't sit next to Mr. Kee Tong.
00:37:14I'll sit on the other table.
00:37:18Don't be like this.
00:37:19It's not good for your health.
00:37:22Rosie is still in the hospital.
00:37:24She is dying.
00:37:25Her life is not even booked.
00:37:27I absolutely can't pretend to be fine in front of Mr. Kee Tong.
00:37:35You can do it. You can definitely do it.
00:37:37Roger, how can you do this?
00:37:40She's messing with your cousin.
00:37:42Her husband said he wouldn't let her go.
00:37:46He even said he would come here to vent his anger.
00:37:48Excuse me.
00:37:49Secretary Bao is here.
00:37:50Oh, really?
00:38:05I'll take a picture.
00:38:08Don't film.
00:38:10Don't film.
00:38:15Welcome.
00:38:19Rosie, don't.
00:38:24Is there a doctor here?
00:38:26Don't film.
00:38:27I'll call the police.
00:38:28Don't film.
00:38:29It's OK, kid. Let me see your hand.
00:38:35Help me find a pack of ice.
00:38:39Ice?
00:38:49Don't be afraid.
00:38:50Here, ice.
00:38:53Call the hospital.
00:38:54There's a wounded man. Call an ambulance.
00:38:57Call the hospital. There's a wounded man. Call an ambulance.
00:39:08I'll follow you to the hospital.
00:39:10OK.
00:39:15Did you see the doctor who helped Tong?
00:39:19Doctor?
00:39:20Is it Dr. Cho?
00:39:21Yes, it's him.
00:39:23It's not Dr. Cho.
00:39:25Yes, it's him.
00:39:36The patient's condition is stable now.
00:39:39But the bullet was shot between the ribs.
00:39:44So I think I'll have to perform a surgery.
00:39:48The other wounded man is Tong.
00:39:50Is it him?
00:39:54Yes, it's him.
00:39:56The patient's condition is stable now.
00:39:58But the bullet was shot between the ribs.
00:40:02Yes, it's him.
00:40:03The patient's condition is stable now.
00:40:06So I think I'll have to perform a surgery.
00:40:10Yes, it's him.
00:40:14I'll leave you this.
00:40:23You're a scoundrel.
00:40:25Kiss him.
00:40:39Roger, even you think it's a 50-50 chance?
00:40:42Yes, a 50-50 chance.
00:40:46Tony, what do you think?
00:40:48Roger said it's a 50-50 chance.
00:40:50I think he's confident.
00:40:52If you ask me, it's a 30-50 chance.
00:40:58Are you Liu Man?
00:41:01Yes.
00:41:03How do you know?
00:41:06Do you know who I am?
00:41:09I just found out.
00:41:11How else would I know you?
00:41:13That's not what I mean.
00:41:15I'm Cho Chi Kit's girlfriend.
00:41:22He always mentions you.
00:41:27I know it's you.
00:41:29Who else is as arrogant as you?
00:41:34Cho Chi Kit's girlfriend?
00:41:37What a coincidence.
00:41:42Look.
00:41:43I don't have much demand for love.
00:41:46At least I know where the bottom line is.
00:41:48I don't want to discuss your problem again, okay?
00:41:53Go away.
00:41:55Go away.
00:42:21Is it fun?
00:42:23It's rare to see a nightclub like this.
00:42:27It's fun.
00:42:28What's going on here?
00:42:30Do you know there's a nightclub here?
00:42:34Really?
00:42:35Yes, come and see.
00:42:37See what?
00:42:38There.
00:42:39Come and see.
00:42:53We love you, sweet love.
00:42:58What would life be without you?
00:43:04If you say that,
00:43:06you and your mother will live in Macau.
00:43:09Yes.
00:43:10I have no choice.
00:43:12I have no money.
00:43:14I can't afford a wife.
00:43:16Don't say that.
00:43:18It's not right for your wife to go away.
00:43:21A few days ago, Kit called me.
00:43:23He said he had a sports meeting.
00:43:25His English has improved a lot.
00:43:27I don't have to worry.
00:43:28He asked me if I was bored in Hong Kong.
00:43:31Why didn't I find a...
00:43:34Why didn't I find a doctor to accompany me?
00:43:39When I heard that, I felt...
00:43:42touched.
00:43:44Your son is so good.
00:43:46I want to see him.
00:43:52Really?
00:43:53Yes.
00:43:55Tonight, in front of your boss...
00:43:59Don't listen to him.
00:44:01He's always talking nonsense.
00:44:05Did he tell you that he has a son who's in 5th grade?
00:44:08Yes.
00:44:09That's an old trick.
00:44:11Three years ago, he said his son was in 5th grade.
00:44:14Don't say that.
00:44:16Is it true?
00:44:17Of course it's true.
00:44:18Don't believe him.
00:44:22My daughter is 6 years old.
00:44:24She's studying in Taiwan.
00:44:27Why are you here?
00:44:29I'm here to see you.
00:44:31It's been a year.
00:44:32Don't you remember?
00:44:33I'm sorry.
00:44:46Come back for a check-up tomorrow.
00:44:48I'll go over there and see what's going on.
00:44:50Go home first.
00:44:53I'll talk to you later.
00:44:54Okay.
00:45:03I love you.
00:45:11Love is for yourself,
00:45:13not for the other person.
00:45:19The box I just gave Dr. Lau
00:45:21is a box of ashes.
00:45:24The ashes of a woman he likes very much.
00:45:28He fell in love with a girl
00:45:30in the same class as him.
00:45:34Dr. Lau knew he wasn't a good husband,
00:45:37so he didn't want to go out.
00:45:40Later, the girl married a good friend of his.
00:45:44Two years later,
00:45:46the girl had a bone fracture.
00:45:48He wanted Dr. Lau to treat her.
00:45:52In the end,
00:45:54he couldn't do it.
00:45:57Before the girl died, he ordered
00:45:59to separate her ashes.
00:46:02Every time the girl left him,
00:46:04he would give her to Dr. Lau.
00:46:07This way, he could make sure
00:46:09Dr. Lau would never forget her.
00:46:13This is love,
00:46:15or hate.
00:46:16Help!
00:46:17Someone's calling for help!
00:46:24What's wrong?
00:46:25What's wrong?
00:46:26What's wrong?
00:46:27What's wrong?
00:46:28Don't move!
00:46:29Don't move!
00:46:30Don't move!
00:46:31Chase him!
00:46:34It's just a scratch.
00:46:36Song, take him to the hospital.
00:46:38Okay.
00:46:40Easy.
00:46:41Easy.
00:46:42Careful.
00:46:43Okay.
00:46:44Everyone calm down.
00:46:45What did you see?
00:46:46I just got back.
00:46:47Let's not talk about this.
00:46:49Come on.
00:46:53What did you see?
00:46:54Mr. Chow, Mr. Chow.
00:46:55I just got back.
00:46:56It's not as simple as hitting people.
00:46:57Maybe it's a religious thing.
00:46:58Now you're in charge, I'm in charge.
00:47:00My eyes are bursting.
00:47:01There's blood all over the place.
00:47:03Why didn't you call the police?
00:47:04Let's go over there.
00:47:05Let's take a look.
00:47:06Don't worry.
00:47:07The Hong Kong police will protect you.
00:47:10You can breathe.
00:47:11Talk to me slowly.
00:47:15I just got back.
00:47:17I haven't asked you yet.
00:47:20What did you see?
00:47:23When I got back,
00:47:25I didn't see anything.
00:47:26Did you miss anything?
00:47:27No.
00:47:28You did.
00:47:29Let me help you remember.
00:47:35It's hard to live in a place like this.
00:47:37I'm not going to hell.
00:47:39Who's going to hell?
00:47:40The most important thing now is to open up.
00:47:44Thank you, doctors.
00:47:45Don't mention it.
00:47:48Dr. Lau.
00:47:49What?
00:47:50Why can't people even look at their family?
00:47:52What are you talking about?
00:47:54They can't even look at their relatives.
00:47:56That's right.
00:47:59I'm sorry.
00:48:13Brother-in-law.
00:48:17I'm sorry, Dr. Lau.
00:48:21I'm useless.
00:48:24No.
00:48:26You're a good girl.
00:48:30You'll be in charge of Ah Sien's illness.
00:48:33She'll be your first patient.
00:48:35But now you have to send her home.
00:48:51I'm sorry.
00:48:53Is it this way?
00:48:54This way?
00:48:56Am I making you too confused?
00:49:01No.
00:49:02It's just that...
00:49:04Dr. Lau is your brother-in-law.
00:49:06Dr. Lau and he are both great doctors.
00:49:09Why would I be in charge of your illness?
00:49:15The ashes in the box that I gave Dr. Lau...
00:49:19are actually my sister's ashes.
00:49:22So the woman they like is your sister?
00:49:26Do you know what kind of illness I have?
00:49:29No.
00:49:30Just like my sister, I also have bone cancer.
00:49:33What?
00:49:34Bone cancer?
00:49:36Just like my sister,
00:49:39everything is the same.
00:49:41Actually,
00:49:42I had to find Dr. Lau to treat my illness.
00:49:46If you want to die,
00:49:48if you want to die,
00:49:50you have to die in the hands of your loved ones.
00:49:55I've always felt that...
00:49:57Dr. Lau is my brother-in-law.
00:50:01I asked him if I was selfish.
00:50:05Both of my sisters have to die in his hands.
00:50:08Is it because he couldn't accept it, so he gave you to me?
00:50:11No.
00:50:12He felt that...
00:50:14he couldn't be with me until the end.
00:50:16He would regret it.
00:50:18Why would I be responsible for your illness?
00:50:21He said,
00:50:22if you look after me,
00:50:25it means he looks after me too.
00:50:40I want you to help me with one thing.
00:50:43If you can find me, I will definitely help you.
00:50:46It's not because I want to make a deal with you.
00:50:49Actually, I will do anything that can be done within the scope of my illness.
00:50:53This is the number one principle of being a doctor.
00:50:57Is there anything you don't understand?
00:51:03This bullet...
00:51:05is attached to the nerve of the neck,
00:51:07and presses on the nerve of the tail.
00:51:10Normally, the closer you are to the target, the safer it is.
00:51:14But you know,
00:51:15this area is full of nerve threads.
00:51:20If this wound doesn't heal by itself,
00:51:23how many percent do you think it will?
00:51:25Three percent.
00:51:27Did you do it yourself?
00:51:28Yes.
00:51:29That's good.
00:51:30Four percent.
00:51:33Thank you.
00:51:37If you look here,
00:51:39point A and point B are the closest.
00:51:41But it's not safe at all.
00:51:43The bullet is attached to the tail of the rectum.
00:51:46If you shoot from the rectum,
00:51:48the nerve of the tail can be blocked.
00:51:51That means...
00:51:52using an internal mirror,
00:51:54directly insert the bullet into the rectum,
00:51:56shoot from the inside,
00:51:58and pull out the bullet.
00:52:00It's amazing.
00:52:02Don't thank me.
00:52:05Promise me one thing.
00:52:07Be a doctor.
00:52:09Don't be a medical manager.
00:52:11Your operation was a success.
00:52:13How do you feel?
00:52:15I think it's mainly because
00:52:17I didn't give up any possible way.
00:52:19Or maybe it's my luck.
00:52:21When I was in the intensive care unit,
00:52:23I came up with the safest way
00:52:25to complete the operation.
00:52:27Thank you.
00:52:29In terms of the operation
00:52:31for Secretary Park,
00:52:33the doctor...
00:52:34Are you kidding me?
00:52:36What's the matter?
00:52:38Daddy,
00:52:40he's very shameless.
00:52:42You know he's very shameless.
00:52:44We don't like him either.
00:52:46But he's a top-notch
00:52:48surgical surgeon.
00:52:50Daddy,
00:52:52are you competing with him
00:52:54for the position of Director of the Hospital?
00:52:57It's a poison.
00:52:59If you inhale it,
00:53:01you'll feel a headache,
00:53:03dizziness,
00:53:05and shake.
00:53:07Before we talk about
00:53:08the Sotai-Yin-Fai-King,
00:53:11do you understand?
00:53:13It's good if you understand.
00:53:15Let's read the main words
00:53:17of the Sotai-Yin-Fai-King.
00:53:19Jian-Ming.
00:53:21Jian-Ming.
00:53:23Wu-Li.
00:53:25Wu-Li.
00:53:27I don't understand one thing.
00:53:29What don't you understand?
00:53:31I saw Qian's file.
00:53:33He's suffering from hemorrhoids.
00:53:35Why did you give it to the hospital?
00:53:36Why did you give it to the hospital?
00:53:38He's a patient.
00:53:40He needs a doctor.
00:53:42You're a doctor,
00:53:44so I gave it to you.
00:53:46Zhao-Gao.
00:53:48Zha-Ha.
00:53:50Teach these four first,
00:53:52so that you won't forget.
00:53:54Is it my turn?
00:53:56Not yet.
00:53:58You're the sun.
00:54:00I'm studying French today.
00:54:02Bonjour, Madame.
00:54:04You don't even know English.
00:54:06You have a congenital hemorrhoid.
00:54:08It's incurable.
00:54:10How can I teach if you keep moving?
00:54:14Forget it.
00:54:16Go back and study.
00:54:18We'll continue next time.
00:54:20What should I do?
00:54:22Have you thought of everything?
00:54:24No.
00:54:26Have you thought of everything?
00:54:28It's so romantic.
00:54:30Jian-Ming is studying French,
00:54:32and you're learning French.
00:54:34C'est la vie.
00:54:37Bonjour.
00:54:40Wang-Pa.
00:54:42Don't eat too much.
00:54:44It's only this time of the month.
00:54:46Don't eat too much.
00:54:48I can't jump off a building.
00:54:50Chi-Suk.
00:54:52Don't eat too much.
00:54:54It's only this time of the month.
00:54:56You're always thinking about yourself.
00:54:58If you can't do it,
00:55:00come back to me.
00:55:02It's cold.
00:55:04Don't sleep in the park.
00:55:06It's cold.
00:55:16Hi.
00:55:18I can't help you
00:55:20with your problems.
00:55:24Do I have a problem?
00:55:26Not yet.
00:55:31I've been following you
00:55:33and watching you apply medicine.
00:55:34I've been thinking
00:55:36that you're doing this
00:55:38with all your heart.
00:55:43You can say that.
00:55:46I know you've been involved
00:55:48in a lot of charity activities.
00:55:50Like charity football,
00:55:52charity photography.
00:55:54I know you're doing this
00:55:56with all your heart.
00:55:58But for me,
00:56:00I don't know what's good.
00:56:02I'm just a doctor.
00:56:05If it's good,
00:56:07I'll treat you like a doctor.
00:56:09If it's bad,
00:56:11I'll do my best to fix it.
00:56:13I won't ask why.
00:56:15After it's fixed,
00:56:17I won't feel like I've done something bad.
00:56:20That's good.
00:56:23You came to see me. What are you afraid of?
00:56:29Right?
00:56:34I came to tell you
00:56:36that someone found out
00:56:38that you were teaching Roger
00:56:40how to do the surgery.
00:56:42You know he's a man of his word.
00:56:44He'll sue you first.
00:56:47I wanted to warn you
00:56:49to be more careful.
00:56:51But I realized
00:56:53I was worried for nothing.
00:56:56You're so self-centered
00:56:58that you don't care.
00:57:05You haven't answered me yet.
00:57:07What are you afraid of?
00:57:10Why do I have to do so many things?
00:57:13It's simple.
00:57:15100% is not enough.
00:57:17At most, there's one more life.
00:57:20Any gynecologist
00:57:22can diagnose it.
00:57:24Not to mention you,
00:57:26who has clinical experience
00:57:28and is as good as a doctor.
00:57:31Have you ever thought of doing a bone marrow surgery with him?
00:57:35Yes.
00:57:37Although I'm an inexperienced
00:57:39gynecologist,
00:57:41I won't be so stupid as not to think of this method.
00:57:44First,
00:57:47his cancer has spread to a large area.
00:57:49The surgery may speed up his death.
00:57:52Second,
00:57:54even if the surgery is successful,
00:57:56it will only extend his life.
00:57:58How long?
00:58:00You know.
00:58:02You're asking me?
00:58:04You're a doctor.
00:58:06What's the difference?
00:58:08He can live for three more months.
00:58:10He'll be in pain for three more months.
00:58:12But you can see him for three months.
00:58:17At first, I thought she was your ex-girlfriend's sister.
00:58:20So you didn't want to send her away
00:58:22and gave her to me.
00:58:24Now I know
00:58:26you really don't care about her.
00:58:28The first rule of the Basic Law of Medicine
00:58:30is not to think you're a doctor.
00:58:31When the patient is in your hands,
00:58:33you have the upper hand.
00:58:35In fact, we're no different from a shoe repairman.
00:58:37If the shoe can be repaired,
00:58:39we'll do our best to repair it.
00:58:41If it can't be repaired, we'll throw it away.
00:58:43It's a human shoe.
00:58:45There are people you like.
00:58:50Have you ever seen him sleep?
00:58:53Have a look.
00:58:55Do I have something to look at?
00:58:56What are you looking at?
00:59:01Look here.
00:59:04She's still a virgin.
00:59:09Is Sam a virgin? It's none of your business.
00:59:15I... I'm looking for a pair of glasses.
00:59:17Give me a hand.
00:59:19What are you looking for?
00:59:21Here.
00:59:27I told you it was a fight.
00:59:29Get out of here.
00:59:31It's not a fight.
00:59:33If someone hits someone,
00:59:35and someone doesn't,
00:59:37it's not a fight.
00:59:39You're wrong.
00:59:41It's not a fight.
00:59:43Get out of here.
00:59:45Get out of here.
00:59:47Get out of here.
00:59:54It's late, Mr. Chiu.
00:59:56Let's go to work.
00:59:59Are you going to report me?
01:00:03Stop right there.
01:00:06Where are you going?
01:00:08To work.
01:00:10Where? Heaven?
01:00:12Of course I'm going to work.
01:00:14You're going to work?
01:00:16You don't know how to work?
01:00:19You're shameless.
01:00:21Show me your ID.
01:00:22Show me your ID.
01:00:24Are you kidding me, sir?
01:00:27So you're shameless?
01:00:30The phone's ringing.
01:00:32Really?
01:00:43Where are you going?
01:00:45Where are you going?
01:00:47I'm going to find Zhu.
01:00:49Zhu?
01:00:50Zhu?
01:00:52Don't tell me you're going to find Mei.
01:00:55I'm not.
01:00:57Zhu knows everything.
01:01:00Don't talk to me like that.
01:01:02I'm not.
01:01:04Don't try to fool me.
01:01:06I'm not.
01:01:20Where are you going?
01:01:22To work.
01:01:24Where?
01:01:26To find Mei.
01:01:28Why?
01:01:30It's none of your business.
01:01:32You're so heartless.
01:01:34Have you ever heard of
01:01:36a friend's wife can't keep her word?
01:01:38You're crazy.
01:01:40Get out of my way.
01:01:43I'm going to find Mei.
01:01:45I'm going to find Mei.
01:01:47I'm going to find Mei.
01:01:49I was beaten up by Zhu this afternoon.
01:01:52Don't try to fool me.
01:01:54I beat you up.
01:01:56I don't want to talk to you.
01:01:58I'm going to report you.
01:02:00Think about it.
01:02:02I've thought about it.
01:02:04You'd better go home.
01:02:06I'm not going to leave.
01:02:08I'll see how good you are.
01:02:10You only know how to make rice wine.
01:02:13The first rule of the Basic Law
01:02:15is to call for rice wine.
01:02:16Even if the police are on their way,
01:02:18they'll stop and wait for you.
01:02:20You can insult me,
01:02:22but you can't insult the Hong Kong police.
01:02:24Let go of me.
01:02:26I won't.
01:02:28Don't touch me.
01:02:30Let go of me.
01:02:35You'd better go home.
01:02:37Go home.
01:02:38Be careful.
01:02:46What's the matter with you?
01:02:48You're always like this.
01:02:53You're a good man.
01:02:56Go home and sleep.
01:02:59Don't worry.
01:03:01I'm going to work tonight.
01:03:04Wait.
01:03:09I'll help you.
01:03:31How much is it?
01:03:33I'll pay you back tomorrow.
01:03:35Why so much?
01:03:37Don't be like this.
01:03:40You can't open a business.
01:03:43You want to travel to France.
01:03:45You want to see the world.
01:03:47That's what I'm going to do.
01:03:49I'll help you.
01:03:51I'll help you until you have enough money to go to France.
01:03:5310,000 francs is not enough for you.
01:03:55Help me?
01:03:57Okay.
01:04:02I don't want to work for you.
01:04:07I promise you.
01:04:09I don't want you to work for someone else.
01:04:24If we don't talk about money.
01:04:27We're friends.
01:04:29Can you do it for me for free?
01:04:34I'm sorry.
01:04:36I'm sorry.
01:05:03Who is the most handsome?
01:05:05That's right.
01:05:07Who is the best?
01:05:09That's right.
01:05:11Who has the most fans?
01:05:13That's right.
01:05:15That's right.
01:05:17Who do you want to work with?
01:05:19Who?
01:05:21That's right.
01:05:24Who is he?
01:05:26He's a singer.
01:05:28A singer?
01:05:30Thank you for your support.
01:05:32Especially for those who are in need of help.
01:05:36They are the people's support group.
01:06:01Mr. Sun.
01:06:03What's wrong?
01:06:05You seem to have a lot on your mind.
01:06:08Why don't we share it with him?
01:06:11Okay.
01:06:21I did something
01:06:23that violated the doctor's professional rules.
01:06:27What did you do?
01:06:28I did something that violated the doctor's professional rules.
01:06:32I fell in love with a female patient.
01:06:35But...
01:06:37She was diagnosed with hemiplegia.
01:06:41If I had operated on her,
01:06:44she might have lived another three months.
01:06:47But if I didn't do it,
01:06:49she might leave at any time.
01:06:52I really want to see her every day.
01:06:56But I know it's selfish.
01:06:58Because I know
01:07:01the longer she lives, the harder it is for others.
01:07:03It hurts others.
01:07:07I don't know what to do.
01:07:13How many times do I have to tell you?
01:07:17My friend.
01:07:19Medicine
01:07:21is not just about analysis and technology.
01:07:25A doctor's judgment
01:07:27should not be based on
01:07:29theory, logic
01:07:31or any rules.
01:07:35You have to trust your heart
01:07:38and the patient's heart.
01:07:40Do you understand?
01:07:42Thank you, Master!
01:07:43Give me five!
01:07:44Thank you, Master!
01:07:46Is there anyone else who wants to confess to the Master?
01:07:50Yes.
01:07:52You confess when others confess.
01:07:54You are not a Christian.
01:07:56I'll give you a chance to make it up to you.
01:07:59Can I confess now?
01:08:00Yes, yes, yes.
01:08:01You are not a Christian.
01:08:03You are more welcome to confess.
01:08:04Please speak.
01:08:08I like a chicken.
01:08:10Thank you, Master!
01:08:11Give me five!
01:08:12But not you.
01:08:13Thank you, Master!
01:08:16I feel very selfish.
01:08:17Because she is very talented.
01:08:18She wants to make more money
01:08:19and realize her dream.
01:08:20She wants to travel
01:08:21and see the world.
01:08:23So I understand why she wants to be a chicken.
01:08:25But...
01:08:27But I can't bear to see her receive guests.
01:08:32I feel very confused
01:08:35and timid.
01:08:38My heart still hurts.
01:08:41Brother,
01:08:43you understand her
01:08:44and care for her.
01:08:46This is the expression of love.
01:08:48You have found your way
01:08:49in the midst of confusion.
01:08:52The Master's light
01:08:53will continue to guide you.
01:08:56Why didn't you tell me earlier?
01:08:58It's so fun to hang out outside.
01:09:00If I had told you,
01:09:01would you have told them everything?
01:09:03I got fat because of the pregnancy test.
01:09:05The university forced me to go to the hospital.
01:09:07Can you help me get rid of it?
01:09:10Thank you.
01:09:11I haven't played cards
01:09:12for a long time.
01:09:18Ah Man,
01:09:19thank you for last time.
01:09:24Actually, we can work together.
01:09:27Just like when we were students.
01:09:31If you come to the hospital,
01:09:32I can recommend you.
01:09:34If you have any research fund,
01:09:35I can help you get it.
01:09:40You just want me
01:09:41and Bao to do the research.
01:09:43Roger,
01:09:44can we go now?
01:09:45We still have to...
01:09:50I won't be disappointed in this person anymore.
01:09:54But I hope you won't disappoint me.
01:09:57What?
01:09:58You know what I mean.
01:10:02I'll give you a chance
01:10:04to make an important decision.
01:10:06I'll count to three.
01:10:09One.
01:10:12Two.
01:10:15Three.
01:10:16Four.
01:10:23What?
01:10:24You know him?
01:10:29It's good to see you.
01:10:30What's up?
01:10:31Ah Seng is in the hospital.
01:10:41How is he?
01:10:42He can't even wear glasses.
01:10:44He has to go to the hospital anyway.
01:10:49His cancer is spreading very fast.
01:10:52We have to stop him immediately.
01:10:55Otherwise...
01:10:59Does he know?
01:11:01I haven't told him yet.
01:11:05What are you going to tell him?
01:11:08I'm his doctor.
01:11:10I know what to tell him.
01:11:12It's none of your business.
01:11:15I know it's hard for you to make a decision.
01:11:18Ordinary doctors will tell me
01:11:20whether to do the surgery or not.
01:11:23But at this time,
01:11:25I don't need rational decisions anymore.
01:11:31Do you know?
01:11:33I built my happiness
01:11:34on your pain.
01:11:37The more you don't know what to do,
01:11:39the more I feel you're nervous about me.
01:11:42I don't know how satisfied I am.
01:11:45It doesn't matter
01:11:47whether I do the surgery or not.
01:11:54You should know
01:11:56why Dr. Lai wants to see you now, right?
01:12:00How can he see me so clearly?
01:12:03Does he really have no feelings for me?
01:12:15Crazy
01:12:19Crazy
01:12:21For feeling
01:12:23So lonely
01:12:31I'm crazy
01:12:35Crazy
01:12:37For feeling
01:12:40So lonely
01:12:44Crazy
01:12:49Crazy
01:12:52For thinking
01:12:54That my love
01:12:56Could hold me
01:13:04And I'm crazy
01:13:06For trying
01:13:08And crazy
01:13:10For crying
01:13:12And I'm crazy
01:13:15For loving
01:13:19You
01:13:29I should have told you earlier.
01:13:33My sister has been suffering for you for so long.
01:13:36I have to apologize to you on her behalf.
01:13:40I was too impulsive.
01:13:41I didn't know there was no hope.
01:13:44So I asked you to take me in as a patient.
01:13:48You're really impulsive.
01:13:50But not everyone can be so impulsive to me.
01:13:53Let me be impulsive one more time.
01:13:56After I die,
01:13:58you have to promise me one thing.
01:14:01I blessed the day I found you
01:14:07I want to stay with you
01:14:11I want to be around you
01:14:15And so I beg you
01:14:20Let it be me
01:14:25Don't take this heaven from one
01:14:31If you must claim to someone
01:14:37Now and forever
01:14:42Let it be me
01:14:47Each time we meet, love
01:14:52I found complete love
01:14:56Without you
01:15:06It's you again, okay?
01:15:08If you run into a patient again,
01:15:09can you handle it?
01:15:13I'm sorry
01:15:15I'm too emotional
01:15:17Now I know
01:15:19You want to take this opportunity
01:15:21to teach me how to be a rational doctor
01:15:24I'm so disappointed in you
01:15:28No
01:15:30There is no one in this world
01:15:32who is completely rational
01:15:34Because we are all humans
01:15:37Humans will only become more and more numb
01:15:40I'm sorry
01:15:45I'll teach you how
01:15:49Stand up
01:15:51Face this direction
01:15:53Shout as loud as you can
01:15:55Try it
01:15:57Can I shout here?
01:15:59No, it won't work
01:16:01I'm afraid
01:16:02Don't be
01:16:07Shout
01:16:10Shout
01:16:14Can you hear me?
01:16:16How many responses?
01:16:18Not everyone in this world
01:16:19is as miserable as you
01:16:23Every time I can't cure a patient
01:16:24I'll come up here
01:16:28Shout
01:16:32Are you crazy?
01:16:33Jump into the sea
01:16:39I'm sorry
01:16:46Dr. Lau has left
01:16:47Where is Roger?
01:16:48Dr. Lau has left
01:16:50His bag is full, right?
01:16:52I don't think so
01:16:54How can he leave so soon?
01:17:02Braised meatball
01:17:03It's so delicious
01:17:04I told you
01:17:06Fried crab
01:17:09Dr. Lau
01:17:10Do you remember me?
01:17:11Dr. Lau
01:17:12We are colleagues
01:17:13Do you remember me?
01:17:14Yes
01:17:15Dr. Lau, thank you
01:17:16You saved my life
01:17:17Stand up
01:17:18If it wasn't for you
01:17:19I wouldn't have died in the hospital
01:17:22Of course
01:17:23It doesn't matter if I die
01:17:24But my client's mother
01:17:25is waiting for me to raise money
01:17:27for her internal organs surgery
01:17:29But I'm still a witness
01:17:30in the police station
01:17:31If I get the money
01:17:32I'll send it to her
01:17:34But thank you
01:17:35for saving my life
01:17:36Are you my uncle?
01:17:38What?
01:17:39We'll talk later
01:17:54Thank you
01:18:00What else do you want to do?
01:18:02I haven't touched a woman for a long time
01:18:05What?
01:18:06A woman?
01:18:09Actually, I can't
01:18:11But I want to feel the warmth
01:18:15I can touch her
01:18:25No
01:18:35Come on
01:19:00Come on

01:19:06It's none of your business
01:19:07You're so mean
01:19:08There are so many girls in Hong Kong
01:19:10Why did you choose me?
01:19:12What are you talking about?
01:19:13I'm useless
01:19:15I don't dare to talk to people I like
01:19:17I'm not allowed to see them
01:19:18So what?
01:19:20As my friend
01:19:21You can't ignore my feelings
01:19:25You sent the professor up there?
01:19:26What professor?
01:19:28Where is he?
01:19:29What professor?
01:19:30Where is he?
01:19:31The professor is with Mei
01:19:33You bastard
01:19:34You're not a human
01:19:35You're not a human
01:19:39Smile
01:19:45It's Liu Yanshan
01:19:52There's alcohol
01:19:54There's no harm on the surface
01:19:55Liu Yanshan
01:19:59He asked me to give this to you
01:20:03Thank you
01:20:05He seems to know he's going soon
01:20:10One minute
01:20:12I need to talk to him
01:20:15Let's talk later
01:20:16Don't make me embarrassed
01:20:21Mei
01:20:22Marry me
01:20:25What are you talking about?
01:20:26The policemen out there
01:20:27They'll force you to sell your job
01:20:29The only way you can do it
01:20:30Is to say yes to my wife
01:20:32Say we're married in Mainland
01:20:35I'll be your wife
01:20:44Don't say yes
01:20:48I really want you to be my wife
01:20:52I love you
01:20:56I'm a prostitute
01:20:57You don't even know me
01:20:59You've been a prostitute
01:21:01I can't take it anymore
01:21:10I'm pregnant
01:21:11It's over
01:21:15Dr. Liu operated on me
01:21:17You've been ignoring him
01:21:19I've never thought of getting married
01:21:22I don't care what you've been through
01:21:25I don't care
01:21:27It's true
01:21:43There's bad news
01:21:45Zhuo Zijie wants to kill you
01:21:47He's got a hearing in the hospital
01:21:48To revoke your license
01:21:56I think...
01:21:58Ah Man
01:22:01Don't worry
01:22:03We'll keep an eye on you
01:22:05I'm not worried
01:22:07I'm just excited
01:22:09I want to know more about the medical profession
01:22:12We'll do our best
01:22:16Of course
01:22:17Please
01:22:24This hearing...
01:22:26is purely for the sake of my knowledge
01:22:29There will be no legal sanctions
01:22:32And no power
01:22:34Dr. Liu
01:22:36The court has found you to have violated
01:22:38the professional ethics of the medical profession
01:22:41You have the right to refuse to answer
01:22:43But the final decision of the committee
01:22:45will be made under any circumstances
01:22:48Dr. Liu, do you want to answer or not?
01:22:51Answer
01:22:53The patient died in the house of the prostitute
01:22:56You took the patient there, didn't you?
01:22:59That's right
01:23:01You've seen the patient's medical record
01:23:04What do you think of the patient's condition?
01:23:08The patient's temperature dropped rapidly
01:23:10It's called a flashback
01:23:12A flashback?
01:23:14How long do you think the patient's life
01:23:17would have lasted?
01:23:19No more than 24 hours?
01:23:21The patient's condition fluctuated
01:23:24But according to the condition of the patient
01:23:27it should be normal
01:23:29It's a sign of recovery
01:23:31According to the situation
01:23:33was the patient's life still in danger?
01:23:35I guess you could say that
01:23:37It's a sign of recovery
01:23:39If the patient stayed in the hospital
01:23:41wouldn't the chance of survival be very high?
01:23:43You could say that
01:23:45According to the autopsy report
01:23:47the victim ate
01:23:49high-protein and high-protein food
01:23:53and drank a lot of alcohol
01:23:56So it's not suitable for a patient
01:23:58with severe liver cancer to eat
01:24:01That's right
01:24:03Dr. Liu, do you regret
01:24:06what you've done
01:24:07and what you've done?
01:24:12No
01:24:14I'll announce my decision
01:24:16tomorrow morning
01:24:26What took you so long?
01:24:29He's gone
01:24:32Who's gone?
01:24:34Who else?
01:24:36Mei
01:24:40She said that when she found out
01:24:42that someone had fallen in love with her
01:24:44she was scared and wanted to leave
01:24:46You?
01:24:48Of course
01:24:50She also said that before she could
01:24:52finish what she wanted to do
01:24:54she wouldn't have any feelings for anyone
01:24:56It's you again?
01:24:58Of course
01:25:01Do you think I've betrayed her?
01:25:02What do you mean?
01:25:04Do you think I've gone too far?
01:25:08It doesn't matter
01:25:14I really don't understand
01:25:16why there's a kind of life
01:25:18that makes people around you happy
01:25:20It's your life
01:25:22You're the only one who's better than me
01:25:25Me?
01:25:27Because you're me and I'm not you
01:25:32If only I could meet someone like you
01:25:45I heard that
01:25:47there's a doctor in this city
01:25:49But he's a dangerous man
01:25:51He's not only weak
01:25:53but also dangerous

01:25:57How dare you!

01:26:15willing to do this for Roger
01:26:17It's not a matter of willingness
01:26:19The bullet is stuck between
01:26:21the heart and lungs
01:26:23We need to keep an eye on him
01:26:25There's too much noise
01:26:27How can we wait?
01:26:28Let's go to Liu Wen
01:26:30He's the only one who can help

01:27:47What? No anesthesia?
01:27:52Are you kidding me?

01:27:59It's half an inch bigger
01:28:02Do you have a band-aid?
01:28:04Do you really need it?
01:28:06You think you can fool me?
01:28:08Get up
01:28:10Do you know why Stevie Wonder
01:28:12always acts like this when he sings?
01:28:14Why?
01:28:16Because he's playing with the mic
01:28:18Why?
01:28:20Do you know why black people
01:28:22always raise chickens in the backyard?
01:28:24Why?
01:28:26To teach the kids how to walk
01:28:29Give me five
01:28:31Really?
