Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com recent wrote an article detailing why the CeeDee Lamb & Micah Parsons contract situations with the Cowboys could blow up in their faces if they're not resolved soon. He joined Shan & RJ to elaborate on that article, as well as talk the Dak Prescott contract and if the Cowboys are setting up their 2024 season for failure.

00:00Talk about how this whole thing could potentially blow up.
00:19Well, you've got the three guys whose contract situations remain on seven.
00:23This is the reason why they weren't able to go all in with free agents.
00:28They had to figure out DAC's contract first with that $55.4 million cap charge this year
00:34and a $54.5 million dead cap charge next year if they don't work something out before his
00:41contract voids.
00:42As a starter, if they sign him after the contract voids, they go above and beyond $54.5 million
00:50with whatever cap number he'd have.
00:51And then you have C.D. Lam at $17.9 million in his fifth-year option who is not willing
00:55to be patient and is reportedly planning not to show up for training camp.
01:00That was the thing that really sparked my brain to look at this and say, okay, C.D.'s
01:04not going to show up, reportedly.
01:07Michael Parsons shouldn't show up at all, and I know he said he's willing to be patient.
01:11I don't care what he said.
01:12He plays a position that's conducive to injury.
01:15If you suffer an injury that falls between career ending and something he could recover
01:21from to the point where he's never the same, that prevents him from ever getting the kind
01:27of money he already deserves.
01:29The problem is they can't get to him, because first they've got to get DAC solved, then
01:33they've got to get C.D. solved, then they move to Micah, they need to get all three
01:37of these done.
01:38These should have been done months ago, and it's all potentially coming to a head if C.D.
01:42holds out and if Micah does what Ezekiel did five years ago.
01:45Because remember, Zeke showed up for the off-season program in 2019 and then didn't show up for
01:50training camp, and it was a surprise.
01:52Even though Micah is saying he is willing to wait, maybe between now and July 24, he
01:58says, screw that.
01:59I want my contract.
02:00I'm not showing up.
02:01If two of those three don't show up for camp, that's a problem for the Cowboys.
