At 1-1, the Cowboys already don't have much room for error when you look at the upcoming schedule. Shan & RJ discuss if McCarthy will be able to survive the stretch of the season or if upcoming matchups against the Ravens, Steelers, Lions and 49ers could spell doom for the Cowboys' 5th year head coach.

00:00So Dallas is now one on one. And I think the stretch that Mike McCarthy's really got to
00:20be worried about in terms of his job security is going to be weeks eight through 13. So
00:24those are the first six games coming out of the bi-week.
00:28So when they come out of the bi-week, I think the worst case scenario, they said it one
00:32on one right now. Worst case scenario, we would agree, I assume is two and four because
00:36here's their next games. Baltimore on the road against the Giants, on the road against
00:41the Steelers at home against the Lions. You're beating the Giants, I assume. And it's possible
00:48you could lose to the Ravens, Steelers and Lions. I don't know that it's likely. Yeah,
00:51it's possible. But, you know, I think what's more likely is what did ESPN say about that
00:55possibility? ESPN's analytics says the Cowboys will be, I shouldn't say will be, they'll
01:04be the underdog in four of the next five games. Not in terms of necessarily the point spread,
01:10but like their chances of winning the game. You know how they do like the chance of winning.
01:15So they give the Cowboys a 47% chance against Baltimore, a 60% chance against the Giants.
01:22So they should win that one. A 49% chance at Pittsburgh. So toss up, but still, if they
01:28were to play that season a hundred times, they would lose more than they would win.
01:32A 44% chance against Detroit and then a 36% chance at San Francisco. So again, if you
01:39played the Cowboys season out a hundred times in the simulation, they would be two and five
01:45more often than anything else. I think they, right now, my best guess is they hit the bye
01:49week and they're three and three. That's what I would guess is going to happen. Worst
01:52case scenario would be two and four, but I would imagine they're probably going to lose
01:55right now to Baltimore and Detroit is what I would guess. And they, they beat Pittsburgh
01:59and the Giants, or maybe some other combination of it. So we'll call it three and three. If
02:03they are three and three heading into the bye week, how much heat do you think we're
02:06talking about heading into that San Francisco game on McCarthy's job itself? Do you think
02:10we're like, nah, this hasn't been a disaster enough to potentially jeopardize?
02:13Not has been, has not been a disaster enough.
