00:00Well, the announcement has come as quite a shock with less than a month out from the
00:05Paralympic Games for Paris.
00:07Now, a statement was issued overnight by Paralympics Australia announcing that their CEO, Catherine
00:12Clarke, had resigned from the top job after more than two and a half years in that position.
00:17Ms Clarke has largely been credited for delivering the organisation's first reconciliation action
00:22plan and has also been well known for advocacy for equal team funding.
00:27In that statement, she thanked her supporters and said that the stage is well and truly
00:31set for Paris, the athletes and their support teams are ready, and that she hands over her
00:36role with complete confidence.
00:37However, of note, the statement didn't include Ms Clarke's reason for her departure and does
00:42follow weeks of speculation after she had missed several Paralympic events, even being
00:47absent from the official launch of the Paralympics team in Canberra on Tuesday.
00:52Now, in the interim, the organisation has announced that their head of communication,
00:56commercial and brand, Cameron Rory, will be taking over the position.
01:00However, the announcement does raise a lot more questions than it answers in the meantime.
