Here are the highs and lows of Australia's Paralympic campaign in Paris on day five.
Transcript
00:00Alexa Leary stole our hearts and now she's stolen a gold medal from the Dutch.
00:07It's day five of the Paralympics and Australia is back on fire over in Paris.
00:11Alexa got into the pool to swim in her final leg of the 100 mixed medley relay.
00:16And we were fourth when she jumped into the pool and by the end of it, she had singed
00:19gold.
00:20A fantastic swim.
00:21After the swim, she said, this is the best team ever.
00:24We're the best.
00:25And you know what?
00:26I agree, Alexa.
00:27You're so right.
00:28Also winning gold was Lauren Parker, who came back to the triathlon after a devastating
00:32one second loss in Tokyo.
00:34She came back better and stronger than ever, beating her American rival by a minute 23.
00:38Massive win.
00:39She's hoping to get two more gold medals in the cycling, the road cycling later in the
00:43week.
00:44She's a dual sport, dual code athlete, and I cannot wait to see what else she has.
00:48In the boccia, we got our first ever silver medals, one for Dan and one for Jam.
00:52Very exciting for those guys.
00:54They will now join up for the doubles competition starting later this week.
00:57They are awesome.
00:58I think they'll be a formidable force.
00:59I think they'll go really well.
01:00Our Steelers got bronze.
01:01They won their bronze match.
01:02And it was really interesting after that game, listening to Riley Batt talk about a little
01:06bit of disappointment in that because he had come into these Paralympics feeling that the
01:10team was going to do a lot better than that.
01:12And I think it's really interesting, especially to hear from these athletes when maybe their
01:15expectations don't line up with ours as spectators.
01:18And it was really a humbling moment to hear from him and congratulations all the same.
