02:18and I declare that Ewan Stainbury is elected to serve in the United Kingdom Parliament as a member of the focal constituency.
02:36Thank you very much. It is the honour of my lifetime to be elected by those whom I consider to be my neighbours and now my constituents.
02:50This election is never about personalities or the eight people on the ballot paper or even, it will most definitely be a very short one, number 10 tomorrow.
02:59It's about you, the people of Welcome, Scotland and the United Kingdom and your priorities.
03:04As now most likely the Labour will form the next government, the first time in my lifetime I've seen an oppressive, opposite government in the first ever hour.
03:15This is a massively hopeful moment for everybody in Welcome, Scotland and the United Kingdom.
03:21The challenge ahead of us is now clear. We will keep to our promises of economic stability, making work free, investing in our NHS,
03:30defending against the looming threat of climate change by investing in clean power, maximising Scotland's influence
03:37but most importantly we need to offer hope to the next generation that their future will be better than that of their parents,
03:44that their life will have been changed, that it will change from what Scotland and the UK needs now.
03:51I speak to all colleagues and their families who are on the stage with me today out on the campaign trail,
03:57rather than debate online and in the hustings.
04:00Thank you for the common ground that we found and the private moments of laughter we shared.
04:05I would like to thank John McNally, my predecessor, for his nine years of service to the Member Parliament of my constituency and for the years before him as a councillor.
04:21Thanks to the Deputy Attorney Officers and all of the people who have staffed here tonight and across the constituency
04:30for your hard work to make sure that this election runs smoothly and you are a testament to yourselves as a proper councillor.
04:37Thank you to my fantastic campaign team, my election agent Douglas, who is a graft winner,
04:43and the dedication you never let me get ahead of myself is deeply appreciated.
04:47I would like to also especially thank Anna, Robbie Burgess and Matthew Craw,
04:53who are indispensable colleagues and good friends, and all of those who have supported me throughout this campaign.
05:00Thank you to all the people of Falkirk, I will work in your interest, I will put you first and I will start now. Thank you.
