Transcript
00:00With Labour having achieved a landslide victory and the Conservative Party suffering in their worst defeat in their history,
00:06I've come to the galleries in Washington to see what people make of the election outcome.
00:11Okay, so what do you make about the outcome of the election? Was it a surprise?
00:15It was a surprise, yes, in a way. I was expecting Labour to win anyway.
00:21But just not by as big a majority?
00:25I was a bit surprised by the majority because I didn't think it would be that high.
00:30And what do you think is the main reason as to why so many people turned against the Conservatives?
00:35I think a lot of people have had enough of the Conservatives.
00:38They're having problems with what they should have done.
00:41Really, I think they should have been more accountable on the ones who've got the MPs,
00:48who've got the positions like Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary, Health Minister.
00:55This is why the NHS has got a long wait list.
00:58So what do you think are the priorities that need to be addressed by this new government?
01:02I would say the NHS, economy, health for small businesses, and crime, and more money for education.
01:13Okay, so what do you make of the outcome of the election?
01:17Well, I'm not happy with it, but I suppose we've got to put up with it now.
01:21It's in Labour's in. I would have preferred Conservatives getting in.
01:25And what do you think is the reason for the decline in the Conservative vote? Why do you think that's happened?
01:29Too much bickering amongst ourselves. It happened the last time we sat here.
01:33And what do you think are the main things that a new government needs to address?
01:36I think illegal immigration, and I think they need to abolish the armed forces, to tell the truth.
