Express & Star senior reporter James Vukmirovic heads to Downing Street to ask residents how they feel about the General Election
Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm James McMirovich. With the weeks to go until the general election it's
00:04crunch time for candidates all over the country as they speak about what they'll
00:08do if they get into power. They're talking about the money they're going to
00:11spend, how they're going to spend it, how they're going to raise it, the things
00:13they'll do, the promises they're making and for the leaders what they'll do if
00:17they either stay in or want to move into number 10 Downing Street. I'm here on
00:21Downing Street in Hell's Owen. I've been speaking to some of the residents about
00:24how they feel about the election, how they feel about their candidates, what they
00:28want to see happen in the election, what they want to see change in the election
00:30if they do indeed want to see change and most importantly who they're going to
00:34vote for how they feel about them. Let's go and see what some of them had to say.
00:44My name's Danielle Hill and I'm going to be voting next week. Most things that are
00:48important to me are changes for the future for more children, changes for the
00:54NHS and I think regardless just anything's better than what we are
00:58currently in at the moment.
01:09My name's Andy Hobson. I live on Downing Street and I will be voting Conservative
01:14next week. Okay why will you be voting Conservative next week? I think it's
01:18better the devil you know at this point.
01:25Well that's been the view here from people on Downing Street in Hell's Owen.
01:31Speaking about the changes they want to see happen, in some cases seeing the
01:35current government staying in place but all in all people have got an opinion
01:38about the election next week. Maybe they do want to see change, maybe they're not
01:41that bothered about it but either ways everyone's got some thoughts about it.
01:44Whatever you do next week make sure you use a vote.
