00:00It's a new season.
00:21We have a brand new den, which means that we have new rules, new twists, a whole bunch
00:27of extra-ness that we weren't able to do, and we're doing things bigger and better.
00:37Following season one, where we ended the season with a cliffhanger of Manila Luzon, na na-raid
00:44yung Jagged Den.
00:45So for season two, the story goes na naghinat sila ng bagong Jagged Den, but the narrative
00:49is it's 2052 in Tondo, Manila, Manila Luzon and the Jagged Cartel basically found a new
00:55death.
00:56Ang amat ay psychedelic.
00:58So more of cool tones, and then psychedelic prints, where there's this idea that in 2052,
01:03kinakain na ng nature ang city, so may ganung element din, which is very trippy or psychedelic.
01:09The den is fun, especially if you like to play video games, because we have an arcade
01:14now.
01:15So all the queens get to play a little street fighter, a little moral combat in between
01:20makeup challenges.
01:21Di hira lang mabigyan ng pagkakataon na makagawa ka ng mundo, based from your fantasies.
01:26And then as a universe, we framed it from the fantasies of queer people, of Jagged Queens
01:31living in the Philippines.
01:32Parang binunguan tayo ng mundo, hindi lang tayo tinayuan ng stage, tinapatan ng ilaw,
01:37and then magpinag-away-away tayo.

01:39I think the diversity of our queens are really gonna set this season apart from the last.

02:07We made sure na mas maging accessible pa yung show sa mas marami pang Jagged Queens.
02:12We were able to visit Visayas and Mindanao.
02:14Diversity is not the top of mind when we think of casting.
02:18More than anything, yung pinaka-importante na ina-address ni Jagged Den in terms of casting
02:22is accessibility.
02:23Kung hindi sila makalapit sa atin, dapat tayo numalapit sa kanila.

02:46So when we were auditioning for a new cast of queens, we had so many more people audition

02:52So, we upped the number from 8 from season 1 to 10 now.
02:56We're just gonna keep adding and adding and adding more queens.
03:01We have queens that are stampy, they are talented, they're beautiful, and they have it all.
03:06And they're at equal levels on different stages.
03:09It's about the uniqueness that they bring.
03:11Hindi siya kailangang polished, hindi siya kailangang ganito o ganyan.
03:14They just have to be here.

04:05I'm really happy because one of the things that drag queens do in the clubs, and in the
04:10bars, and in the streets, is we lip-sync and we perform that way.
04:14So, it's really exciting that we are given the opportunity to have some amazing Filipino
04:19songs that the queens can lip-sync and perform to.
04:22I enjoyed watching the ladies really do actual choreography for the dragdagulan.
04:28They actually get to show us some dancing and a lot more theatric.
04:31Kahit ilang beses na i-try, i-try, i-try ang gulo-gulo, ang gulo-gulo.
04:36Kahit apilitin mo sabay-sabay, sabay-sabay ang gulo-gulo, ang gulo-gulo.
04:43Nakita natin na since it's a three-way battle already, mas magandang ma-retain pa rin yung

04:48Kasi dragdagulan is all about that.
04:50Yung tinatry namang i-replicate ni dragdagulan is not the barangayan showdown itself.
04:54It's the chaotic energy that we get from our own culture.
04:58Because, yeah, as we have said in season one, barangayan showdown is very Pinoy and it's

05:04All forms of drag are valid and here at Dragden, we love to collect them and nurture them and
05:10see how they deal with each other.

06:12The idea behind it is that, kung makikita rin naman in terms of approach, we approached
06:16Dragden season two differently in terms of treatment and storytelling.
06:20Season one felt like the origin story of the drag cartel.
06:24But, other than that, the elimination format is also because we listen to feedbacks na ating
06:29audience and we value the feedback that we got from season one.
06:33And we make the show naman for them.
06:35As much as we make Dragden for the drag queens, for the drag community, we also make it for
06:39the audience kasi kailangan naman at kailangan ng drag ng audience para mag-try.
06:43With elimination, it's this reality that wakes them up.
06:47It's that extra kicker na, I have to give my best every single time.
06:52If I'm scared, I'm gonna be scared all the way.
06:54If I enjoy, at least I'm having fun even if I f**k up.
07:01Once you kinda slip back a little bit, you can't afford a day like that.

07:25In bringing out these queens from the underground world and into the world,
07:30I hope this show illuminates our audience with the different stories that the queens have.
07:36Because I feel like the community has been segregated for so long na most of the time,
07:42people feel just so alone.
07:44And through this show, I hope they get to identify the things they go through,
07:48what the queens have also gone through in their lives.

09:06May makeup, execution, and even performance.
