00:00Here in beautiful Newark, New Jersey. This is boxing. This is top-ranked presented by Hall of Fame boxing promoter
00:07Mr. Bob Arum. This bout is scheduled for 12 rounds for the WBC
00:13Junior Lightweight
00:15Championship of the world. Our judges at ringside
00:18Anthony Lundy, Ron McNair, and Mark Lyson. And the man in charge at the sound of the bell, Mr. David Fields
00:26Introducing first out of the blue corner. He weighed in at 129.5 lbs, wearing black trunks with gold trim, his record 18 victories with 2 defeats, 1 draw, 1 no contest. 9 of those victories coming by way of knockout.
00:48He is Brazil's first ever Olympic boxing gold medalist, making his 4th attempt at a world title. From Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, Robson O'Bravo Conceição!
01:07Introducing out of the red corner. He weighed in at 129.9 lbs, wearing white trunks with gold and black trim, his record 22 victories with 2 defeats, 12 of those victories coming by way of knockout. He is making his 3rd world title defense. He is The Reigning!
01:37And defending WBC Junior Lightweight Champion of the world. From Orange, Texas and fighting out of Houston. Oshaki Icewater Foster!
02:07Shock Foster has been through so much in his life, and then getting to the top of the game a little later in his pro career. Conceição, a great amateur, now 35 years old.
02:32We scheduled about 12 rounds of going over the rules in the dressing room. I expect you to obey my commands at all times. Most of all, protect yourself at all times. Touch gloves, good luck.
02:40Had a lengthy amateur career that lasted through 3 Olympic games and then turns pro and now his 4th world title challenger. But Foster, from a tough background in Orange, Texas, greatly affected by the death of his mom when he was just 12 years old.
02:57Went on to win 8 national titles. Was a U.S. Olympic alternate and now a world champion looking to defend here in New Jersey.
03:07In Tennessee, he's an 11 year pro. People don't understand that. Tons of experience. In and out of the gyms. Training with the best of the best.
03:18Both these guys have earned it. They have put in their time to get to this stage.
03:25Conceição already trying to establish himself. He's walking forward. That's what he's going to want to do.
03:32These first 4 rounds are going to be very interesting. I think the person that's going to win these first 4 rounds probably will win the fight.
03:46We'll see who can establish themselves early on.
03:52You know, Oshaki, he starts late in fights. It takes him time to warm up, get in his rhythm. He can't afford that tonight.
04:00Because Conceição, once he gets going, he's a confident type of fighter. Once he starts gaining confidence, he starts putting more and more pressure on him and letting his hands go.
04:10That belief system kicks in. Oshaki has to take that away and he has to win these early rounds.
04:17When it comes to coming out late with Oshaki Foster, look no further than what we saw last October.
04:22That fight against Rocky Hernandez. One of the most dramatic title fight finishes ever in recent years.
04:29He had the round of the year in the eyes of many in the 11th round and then scored a come from behind 12th round TKO against the mandatory challenger.
04:39He was trailing on points going into the last round and scored a stoppage for the win.
04:44And at the time, that was only the 14th fighter in modern history to do so.
04:52It was remarkable. Remarkable to see, Tess. But you can't continue to hold on to that belt.
04:57Trying to come back from behind, Tess. Eventually, he's going to catch up with you.
05:03He's facing a tough guy that's going to put pressure on him all night long. That's going to dictate the pressure.
05:10Although, Foster's moving and he's picking his spots wisely right now.
05:15Once that heat starts to be thrown from Kasei Sato, once he starts getting comfortable with his range, then we're going to see what Oshaki's all about.
05:24Oh, there's a jab that then turns over into a left hook from long range from shock.
05:34It's beautiful boxing right there. Nice setup. Good defense from Oshaki as well.
05:38And I think that's what's frustrating Kasei Sato at the moment because he can't land anything cleanly.
05:44We fighters, we love to land. Whether it's on the arm, it doesn't matter. We like to make contact with our opponent.
05:51And when we don't, we get a little frustrated. And you start rushing, start making mistakes against a savvy fighter like Foster.
05:59He will make you pay.
06:07It was the kind of first round that was managed in a way, was fought in a way that favors Oshaki Foster, the WBC 130-pound champ.
06:15Watch the left here, Timmy.
06:17Nice little throw away left right there. Then you see him get in position like he was going to throw the right hand.
06:21You see Kasei Sato moving straight back and then he just changed that right hand into a left hook.
06:27That's just beautiful work right there from Oshaki Foster. Just reading the body of his opposition.
06:35All started with the jab test.
06:38Most important punch in boxing, to set up your power shots.
06:43Kasei Sato looking for that right hand behind a jab of his own. Coming up short against Foster.
06:48Right now, Kasei Sato is starting to pay attention to the chest of Foster. He's not looking for the head now.
06:54He's looking for the chest. He's looking to make contact with anything.
06:58And the body is the biggest surface to hit on a fighter.
07:03And he's starting to hit the body because he wants to eventually slow down the legs.
07:07He's trying to start to implement that now.
07:11That usually plays some dividends on the back end of the fight, or the latter half of the fight.
07:16You've got a gold medalist in the ring as a challenger.
07:19You've got a silver medalist who's a pound-for-pound elite.
07:22And a three-division world champion as a pro getting set.
07:25Shakur Stevenson, who of course is a world champion.
07:28And a three-division world champion as a pro getting set.
07:30Shakur Stevenson, who of course this crowd will roar for.
07:34The Newark native will be defending his WBC lightweight championship against Artem Hartunyan.
07:45That'll be right here on ESPN following this Foster-Kasei Sato fight.
07:50It was a right hand from Foster moments ago as Kasei Sato came in.
07:59Kasei Sato firing off a right of his own. Foster partially blocking it with the left.
08:03And he rolled with it a little bit to take the steam off the punch as well.
08:08The difference. The difference in this fight.
08:10Feet. IQ. That's the difference.
08:13Yes, Kasei Sato is an Olympic gold medalist.
08:17However, that IQ of Foster is something else.
08:20And it's giving Kasei Sato fits right now.
08:22I mean, he's level changing. He's throwing feints now. Implementing feints now.
08:26He's blocking the right hand like that. He's not giving Kasei Sato anything.
08:33Nice counter right there attempt from Kasei Sato.
08:36Looking for the right hand.
08:37Both men opening up. Kasei Sato trying to time that right hand.
08:41Good distance control now. Now the feints implemented by Foster.
08:44Now he's staying a little closer. He's not moving around a whole hell of a lot.
08:50He's stepping left. Stepping right. He knows that right hand is coming.
08:56Kasei Sato.
08:57Kasei Sato.
08:58Kasei Sato.
08:59Kasei Sato.
09:00Kasei Sato.
09:01Kasei Sato.
09:02Kasei Sato.
09:03Kasei Sato.
09:04Kasei Sato.
09:05Kasei Sato.
09:06Kasei Sato.
09:07Kasei Sato.
09:09Kasei Sato.
09:13See what he sets up off of the movement.
09:25Oshaki Foster the champion with a 14 to 7 connected advantage.
09:29In a moderately paced fight early on.
09:31This is what we were reacting to in that second round.
09:34It's no secret.
09:36Kasei Sato.
09:38now trying to get a little bit more aggressive now and Foster still trying
09:44to put him in his place he's he's using his feet when he has to he's trying to
09:47take Konsei Sal completely out of this fight by using his legs making him fall
09:52short and frustrating him.
10:01It was a short right hand driving down from Foster as Konsei Sal came into the
10:06pocket there yeah that's gonna be open all night because he's starting to reach
10:09now he started get desperate he can't find he can't find Foster legs are too
10:14quick that's what Foster said yesterday when we met with him he said listen I'm
10:18healthy I can move and if I can move this is going to be much easier the
10:25fight against Abraham Nova the injuries forced him to fight a certain style
10:32he was standing in front of Nova not how he fights Foster because of that we
10:40got a lot of drama in that fight as of right now I don't know what's worse
10:47getting beat down by Navarrete or getting schooled this early in his in
10:53this fight Konsei Sal has to be frustrated for him right now not to put
11:01together at least two punches against Foster I know it's still early there's
11:05still time
11:09but my Navarrete dropped him twice but he was able to outbox him and rally late
11:14to earn that draw yeah but Navarrete is a guy that stands directly in front
11:18he's right there yeah he's there to be hit and that's the reason why Konsei Sal
11:22he welcomes it in a fight yes and the defense in his defense is not great
11:29it's different when you're facing a cerebral fighter with good feet good legs
11:34great athleticism and I talked to Bobby Bitton and he fired me and I said man
11:42when are we gonna see the best version of this guy he's like you haven't seen
11:45the best version you should see the stuff that we see inside the gym and I
11:48said well what's what's lacking he says I don't know Tim I said what is it he's
11:52gonna take an opponent the right type of opponent to bring it out of him he said
11:55I'm not sure I've said man well you don't need to put bring it out tonight
12:04Artem Hartoonian will challenge Shakur Stevenson for the lightweight
12:09championship coming up Mark Riegel caught up with them earlier tonight
12:16Artem thank you for being here with us most Americans know you from the Frank
12:22Martin fight which you took on very short notice what did you learn from
12:26that oh I learned a lot from my last fight against Frank Martin and I want to
12:31take all the experience that I gained from the fight to this fight against
12:35Shakur Stevenson you're not gonna tell us exactly what it is yeah there are so
12:39many things I can't count but the main thing is to be concentrated and do do my
12:45work you made a remark the other day about the smell of Shakur's fear you
12:50want to clarify that what did it smell like it smells good I like the smell I
12:56asked him what cologne you were he said no cologne I said okay then it must be
13:00your fear that's very interesting listen what doesn't Shakur Stevenson know about
13:05you that you think he's gonna find out so Shakur Stevenson doesn't know me
13:12by any means he will he will learn everything in the in the fight and he
13:17will know me maybe after the fight there you go pretty interesting fellas
13:22back to you thank you Mark and this is round number four of this hundred and
13:27thirty pound fight so there's our Tim Hurtonian showing some confidence talking
13:32a little bit to Shakur and there's the guy listening to it there is Shakur
13:35Stevenson the three-division world champion top ten on ESPN's pound for
13:40pound list and ready to put on a show now that he's healthy he is coming off
13:44of that highly criticized fight last November but as he has detailed had the
13:50injured left shoulder the hands and he did what he had to do against De Los
13:54Santos to come out with the victory and you just get the sense that tonight in
13:59this spot in front of these fans and that opponent he is ready to stamp and
14:04remind people of just who he is
14:14a sweeping left hand by let's say so on the way out you can see Foster jawing a
14:22bit he lost the first three rounds already yes he's behind in his fight on
14:28my scorecard and these it's only landing nine percent of his punches thrown to
14:35nine percent over 141 that's frustrating I mean I rather fight I'm not gonna lie
14:41I'd rather fight Navarrete a guy that can punch as hard as him didn't happen
14:45to deal with this swinging at the air all night it's like you're fighting a
14:50ghost he's a period to be in front of you but you can't hit him
15:02Foster right now put on the clinic and hear the fans they don't like it they
15:05don't like what a listen Foster's uh Foster's in the business not getting hit
15:10and that's what he's doing very well right now oh he got hit right there he
15:15got hit right there and I still right here
15:22people don't understand the brilliance of boxing hit and don't get hit you got
15:26a man directly in front of me he's not running he's directly in front of him
15:29but he can't hit him and people want to see action because everybody you know
15:34what they're used to they used to seeing the MMA that's what they used to seeing
15:37MMA they got knockouts or they used to see what they just saw with Keyshawn Davis
15:41which was an all-out foul-filled brawl that too prior to that Abdullah Mason
15:47was sensational sensational TKO in fact Abdullah Mason is going to join us live
15:53Timmy's gonna be right next to you up on the set for the state of
16:01broadcast
16:07it's harder to fight in this fashion anybody just go in there and throw
16:19punches in Brick City Mark Kriegel at the end of four how do you have this
16:26title fight score three easy rounds to one for O'Shaughnessy Foster spoke to
16:32Bobby Benton he says listen the fakes and the faints and the jabs are doing
16:37their jobs that was our plan and here comes the pressure in Kansei Sal he's
16:43trying to cut off that ring now trying to put Foster alone those ropes let his
16:50hands go a little bit more now which can open opportunities for Foster if he
16:55chooses the count you can see a distinct change to the pace of the fight based on
16:59what Kansei Sal was doing last round was the first round that he outlanded him
17:03had a 10 to 8 connect advantage nothing nothing landed there just this offense
17:12from Kansei Sal again right there rolling that shot yeah not turning that
17:19right hand over at all was chopping hammering with it
17:26too much combination from Foster
17:34Foster he has to be comfortable right now because he has a switch southpaw he
17:40has that ability also to switch southpaw the fans getting a little bit restless
17:45right now they want to see more action if the fans are getting restless it's a
17:48foster fight yes oh there's a right uppercut between
17:53punches did you see the defense after he rolled that shot right in there's a
17:59right hand over the top from Kansei Sal that uppercuts will come that right
18:04uppercuts gonna come real soon from Foster
18:09he's pulling right now occasionally pulling and rolling that shoulder to set
18:15up that right hand but that uppercut could come because Kansei Sal when he
18:18throws it right in one is poor technique his left hand is down and he leans
18:22forward good body shot right there by Kansei Sal just letting his hands go if
18:30you're gonna stand there and try to block shots test something to eventually
18:34get in there
18:41nothing is landing nothing so discouraging
18:47solid defense for Foster blocking so many of these punches and he's directly
18:52in front of him and that's exactly what you're gonna see tonight with Shakur
18:55Stevenson they not running they stand directly in front of you just outside of
19:00mid-range and then it's like Matrix like with Shakur
19:08Kansei Sal just landing 12% of his punches thrown
19:15that's what fighters say they hate that space that's created when they either
19:19pull the step straight back or step back and then they get hit with counters like
19:24that
19:34good crowd here at the Prudential Center home of Seton Hall basketball the
19:40Devils in the original hometown of one marvelous Marvin Hagler before mom picked
19:47up the family moved to Brockton Massachusetts place that just unveiled a
19:52spectacular Hagler statue last month to honor the marvelous one
20:00total punches you see Foster and the defense says Kansei Sal only landing 11%
20:09Foster just keeping the narrow stance right there just rolling rolling those
20:14shots that right hand particularly from Kansei Sal
20:19Kansei Sal gonna have to switch things up all he throws are straight punches
20:22needs to change things up I mean you have a superior guy like that like
20:27O'Shaughnessy Foster who's cerebral you see everything coming if you don't
20:31change things up it's gonna be hard he land punches on him change things up
20:35throw a little bit more variety in your arsenal
20:54there's Shakur Stevenson he's now up getting mobile a little bit he's sitting
20:58back for a while watching his friends now posing to him he seems so relaxed
21:02doesn't
21:05but the BC lightweight champion will be in action in moments a division that is
21:10very top-heavy you've heard the news of the ongoing negotiations between Tank
21:16Davis and Vasily Lomachenko and then Shakur he wants a piece of the big
21:20action he's got to get through Artem Hartutian tonight first world title
21:26challenge he was a bronze medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games
21:33test first line of defense he's being loose planes of the camera
21:42I don't know I don't know how much is that I can take serious and be honest
21:45with you well here's the thing like both guys are watching the ESPN broadcast so
21:51they're seeing each other he's given art of the thumbs up you know you want
21:57to stay relaxed being a fighter and you know I like the fact that Artem is
22:00staying relaxed but I mean he's been relaxed through this entire promotion
22:04through this fight now I don't know what he knows you know but I hope he's just
22:10not here just to have a good time I hope he comes in there and has a game plan
22:14and really wants to fight that's what he says I'd say such a shoe-shining
22:21story so far as we come to the halfway point of this world championship fight
22:28has been the defense of shock of O'Shaughney Foster world champion from
22:35just outside Texas take us through it in terms of this defensive effort from
22:41Foster first line of defense guys that's where it starts great eyes right
22:46here great movement by O'Shaughney being in position to be able to avoid these
22:50shots and also punching in between those punches nice little raise at the guard
22:54right there to block that shot just skipping out the back door right there
22:59O'Shaughney getting out of range he's a he appears in range test and then he
23:05gets out of range he appears in range and he gets out of range the most one of
23:10the most frustrating fighters one to watch but at the same time to be up in
23:14there and actually fight difficult difficult champion to face
23:31no I know it is I know it's hard at home for the book I know it's hard at home
23:34for you folks at home you know you want to just see knock him down drag him out
23:38type of brawls I get it I like those type of fights as well but this is a
23:43boxing clinic you're witnessing right now from O'Shaughney and I hope he can
23:50turn I hope he turns it up as the fight continues that's Kansai Sal fades a
23:57little bit
23:59either that or Kansai Sal turning home test that's what's going to need to
24:10happen good jab off the hip from Foster
24:21something's hurt Foster just hurt something well I think his right hand on
24:25that last exchange all of a sudden he backed off he moved it and then you saw
24:30him take his left glove and cuff the top of his right glove as if to test it out
24:35or to reposition it so we'll watch for that right hand from Foster how much he
24:40throws it after that last exchange a went to the potty with it right there
24:50just hiding behind that show yeah that's you think he's gonna come with the right
24:55hand behind it the uppercut I wouldn't mind seeing that he nearly did right
25:00there
25:05you're looking for the reactions of the fighter I noticed that reaction from
25:10Foster I don't know if he hurt his hand or not something he didn't like he felt
25:16like he didn't want to see more more action more action I see the defense but
25:32they want to see more counter-punching
25:41yeah my dad used to always tell me he's like man if you make a miss you do all
25:45that work to make a miss then why don't you make him pay why don't you make him
25:50pay every inch he takes inside that ring you want to make him pay now to keep him
25:58honest now to keep you winning the fight with ease
26:05good counter we heard him with that right hand buzzed him just for a split
26:09second I saw the feet just stay still just froze up for a minute for just a
26:13second I can't say sound
26:23foster pop off that right hand
26:31but he has been masterful behind that shoulder roll yes he is
26:37defense is on point all night long
26:42Conceicao has to be frustrated
26:49we start round number eight Foster with a 58 to 39 connect advantage so not much
26:56offense out of Foster but it's been defense leading the way as Conceicao
27:01372 punches and only landing 39 so just at 10%
27:07that has to be an all-time low for Conceicao
27:16and I saw Bobby been in between rounds massaging that right arm of Foster
27:24thinking that last round he kind of maybe probably retweet that right arm
27:28that right hand
27:33Mark Priegel what can you tell us about that Bobby Benton said nothing worried
27:38about just missed a shot hyper extended his arm a little bit and he expects to
27:43start pouring it on pretty soon now
27:48see what he's doing is he's beating Conceicao yeah he's beating him physically
27:53but he's beating him mentally you take a fighter completely out of the out of
27:59the fight when you beat him mentally Conceicao's gonna start having to take
28:04more chances to get in this fight to land anything and that's gonna open up
28:07doors for Foster to be able to land more offense no there he turns him around
28:13lands that right hand
28:24Oh
28:37yeah anybody wondering at all why Conceicao was not not urgent it's his
28:43last shot it's because he has to have his feet planted to be able to throw
28:48punches he doesn't know how to move and let his hands go that's one of the
28:54hardest thing to do is throw combinations and move at the same time
28:57nice right hand right there Conceicao yeah well he had the opportunity for it
29:02because Foster was opening up and so there was a there was a place to find it
29:07between punches yes
29:19a wide right hand not enough body work coming from Conceicao either when he's
29:29head hunting you get a move in there three-footed guy you want to go down to
29:35that body try to take his legs away at least attempt to
29:48seven rounds to one Oh Shaki Foster you see he's starting to move forward now
29:58but the real audience is at ringside with Oscar Valdez that's the guy he
30:03wants that's the most popular guy at 130 right now I'm in Navarrete
30:07Oscar Valdez right now at 130 pounds is the interim belt holder in the WBO they
30:17have ordered Navarrete and Valdez to have a rematch of their fight I see
30:22blood caused by a headclash referee I don't think saw it it was a it's around
30:26the right eye of Conceicao and the right and the left eye of Foster
30:34excuse me the right eye of Foster
30:40doesn't seem to be in a bad area
30:47Oh
30:59Stevenson with his team to sit back patiently waiting his turn
31:07publicist Julie in the background there
31:11the crowd is gathered here in Brick City the homecoming of Shakur Stevenson and
31:21then our team still dancing Timmy yeah he says he won't be dancing against
31:26Shakur he feels confident he's gonna be able to touch him and hurt him but the
31:30title challenger Artem Hartunian who's trained by his father-in-law
31:35Archer Gregorian the former WBO lightweight world champion I don't know
31:42how much I don't know I haven't called any of his fights I don't know how much
31:46of this of that dancing and all that stuff is fabricated maybe that's just
31:50him but he told us in a fighter means that he don't he don't think about
31:56winning and he don't think about losing which I thought was interesting his
31:59perspective on just sports in general and in life he says he just stays
32:04positive and whatever happens happens a real cerebral guy you saw him can't say
32:09so slip on that top-ranked ESPN logo which can happen if there's enough sweat
32:15or blood
32:20I'll say Sally never be he's not in he's not in this fight not even a little bit
32:25in his fight he needs a knockout to win he needs to somehow step on the gas cut
32:29off the ring he needs to do something different because if he continues to do
32:34the same thing over and over again it's gonna be easy pickings for a fighter
32:40with the IQ of Foster I'm saying Sal was only had one around where he said
32:46double-digit connects that was the fourth round the lone round of our
32:52credo scorecard that went to
33:01Robson come say so told us just say I'm gonna be just as aggressive as I once
33:06against Navarrete as you pointed out earlier you're not up against Navarrete
33:11this was the clash of heads that happened in that last round right eye of
33:15both men opened up but it is so different when the target is elusive and
33:20defensively sound like O'Shaughnessy Foster and that is why con say so it's
33:25in such a deep hole according to seemingly everybody watching ringside
33:31now he tries to pick up the pace but most of that is being smothered and
33:36blocked by Foster
33:40skill and fires back skill and IQ IQ IQ IQ Trump's all test you know you put the
33:52attributes in the skill with it but the IQ being at the right place at the right
33:55time getting in position to where you can hit your opponent where he can't hit
34:00you it's a beautiful thing to watch and I
34:04understand that a lot of folks at the home is probably saying all this is
34:08no this is easy this is easy for the champion
34:23when you completely dismantle a fighter you take them out of the element right
34:27hand got around the guard Mark Riegel
34:32Mike Basil conscious house cut man says hey this is a deep deep cut with some
34:38flesh coming out good news is we should be okay there's only three rounds left I
34:43can do
34:51now all foster need to do is punctuation at the end he needs to turn it up a
34:57little bit he got his man be wilder now got him got him doing whatever he wants
35:01to put a little bit more often offense together against constant self that
35:06doesn't mean get hit now that just means start the counter a little bit more
35:10often he has opportunities that he's missing and passing up and he can't do
35:15that
35:23and then that's when you get the entertainment value that's that's when
35:27you step it up I think the way he's been able to control things and where he
35:33has this fight he would be willing to do that as we head towards the end of
35:40round number 10 WBC junior lightweight championship response was trying to
35:46bring this thing in for a landing and defend his title and then coming up in
35:50moments we will see Shakur Stevenson we're going to remind everybody just why
35:55he is who he is with what he faces tonight against parts and Harkinian at
36:01lightweight division filled with big names Mark Riegel caught up with support
36:05asked him about
36:08you
36:23like your thoughts on few people Devin Haney good fighter tank Davis special
36:32talent Vasily Lomachenko one of the best to ever do it that one really
36:39bothers you yeah because you felt you could measure yourself I seen him go on
36:47an interview and say he would never fight me I don't understand how he can
36:54say no to making money
36:58the champion at 140 pounds this is a WBC champion at 135 pounds and you can hear
37:05the reaction from the fans here just by seeing a glimpse of Shakur Stevenson
37:11group right here in Brick City been well documented that tank Davis and
37:16Vasily Lomachenko and their representatives are very very deep into
37:21negotiations and planning for a unification fight Denise Baranchuk is
37:28the newly minted WBO champion after he defeated Emanuel Navarrete for that
37:32vacant belt back in May in a fight that we televised in San Diego and then
37:36there's Shakur pound-for-pound elite maybe the most skilled of the group
37:42sitting back and seeing where things will go for right now but first there's
37:49Sertunian 11th round Kansei Sal you see the punches landed only one round where
37:57he was able to hit the double digits against the elusive and defensively
38:00sound foster I say so I'm starting to swing like a teenage girl now technique
38:07is terrible he's slapping with his punches and everything you know
38:14Corissa Shields is here right oh she is one of the greats yes I was watching
38:23one of her videos last night the spar session that's why I said teenage high
38:33school
38:36not a fighter
38:42standing directly in front of them you can't get touched yes you seen that with
38:46Floyd Mayweather you're gonna see it tonight with Shakur Stevenson and look
38:50how far from Floyd Mayweather went they said it's the same thing about Floyd
38:56he's boring he's this he's that and look what Floyd was able to accomplish
39:07I can't say so just cannot break through against it
39:17and this is exactly what fought you said it a couple rounds ago to me you said
39:21this is easy you can call it whatever you want but it's easy for Foster do
39:25this that's what Foster said yesterday he said I know I'm healthy I know I can
39:29move and because of that it will be easy against Kansei Sal he's never he never
39:34got out of first gear yet does he still in first gear I would love to see him go
39:40through
39:43gear changes though I would love to see if Foster can just turn it up a bit take
39:48a little bit more risk to get some offense off just again to increase his
39:52entertainment value
39:55and you know some of you will say y'all this fight is already won if I mean just
40:04keep going through the motions and entertain to at the same time it's your
40:09job fans want to see you see how special you really are final rounds of what has
40:14just been a rinse and repeat kind of fight for shock foster the WBC champion
40:23this is defense has led the way against Kansei Sal now you'd have to think
40:27desperation time for Kansei Sal
40:53again just getting out of range getting right back in the range getting out of
40:57range getting right back in the range from Foster not running now he's moving
41:07lateral movement right here got his spot nice tuck up tie up get himself off the
41:13ropes get back in the center of the ring Kansei Sal what he's doing he's just
41:17just chasing trying to cut off the ring having a difficult time doing that he
41:22has an elusive target in front of him what are the main focus you want to do
41:27when you have an elusive target like that you don't want to punch where he is
41:29you want to punch where he's going you want to anticipate that
41:43still trying to land those chomping right hands that shoulder roll makes a
41:48difficult task especially when you throw your right hand like that you know to
41:53deal with that to deal with that that shoulder roll you got most gotta have a
41:58punch like Madonna Marcus Madonna when you come up over the shoulder to be able
42:05to land that right hand
42:07up and down over the shoulder to land that right hand on Foster because he
42:18tucks and tucks his chin behind it that shoulder very well
42:29yes I think he might be the second best that I've seen being able to actually
42:33take that from Floyd Mayweather and actually use it effectively yeah I mean
42:36Floyd would come with a shoulder roll than the Viper right hand counter when
42:40he would be offensive minded with it he's right there in the pocket just
42:47saying all right this is what it is I don't have a problem with it it's just
42:51killing me I mean this is the Olympic gold medalist in Kansai South oh real I
42:57thought that was gonna be a real threat tonight a real challenge this tells you
43:03right here how special foster is special fighter
43:15we just neutralized him in every way possible
43:21he's going to be a tough one to get out of the way
43:36top-ranked boxing on ESPN is presented by AutoZone get in the zone the rock
43:44where Shakur Stevenson fans have filled tonight the coffee box numbers all you
43:52get a sense of his total punches
44:07Manny on that day and Oscar Valdez Valdez who's a few seats down from us
44:13doing the international broadcast they are being ordered to fight for the WBO
44:18Foster who's got the WBC. Same famed green belt that Shakur Stevenson will
44:23look to defend in moments.
44:31Shakur versus Artem Khartounian is coming your way. Best plus minus in all
44:40of boxing. The hit don't get hit master. The undefeated Stevenson who's gone
44:46through a wild news cycle since last November when he was highly criticized
44:51for his lack of entertainment and a win that he says guys I was injured I knew
44:57that going in. Had to do what I had to do to win which he did and always has. The
45:03three-division world champion will be up next.
45:07Mark Kregel what's your final card read? 119-109. 11 rounds to one. You know one
45:15thing. Hope Simcoe says that was not supposed to be easy.
45:19Oshaki Foster made him look easy.
45:32They're taking a long time to tally these scorecards here Tim.
45:39It shouldn't be that long. That's easy. That's easy work.
45:46Oh what you're gonna see is just one one-sided beat down from Foster. Starting
45:55from the first round when he landed that left hook right there. Just complete
45:59target practice to Konsei Sal. Completely out of the fight with his
46:03footwork. I told you that footwork will be the difference here. IQ was also the
46:08difference. Punch selection, technique all the above. You know Konsei Sal
46:14did what he can do. Whatever he can do or whatever he can land he attempted. But
46:21just the superior skills, boxing skills of Foster. By the way the judges that we
46:27have for this WBC title fight have very limited experience in world title fights.
46:32Anthony Lundy's had two fights world title fights. Mark Lyson 10. Ronald
46:37McNair has 26 but but those are paltry numbers in terms of experience at the
46:41world title level. Let's see what they came up with. Ladies and gentlemen after
46:4712 rounds here inside the Prudential Center Newark New Jersey we go to the
46:51judges scorecards for the official decision. Anthony Lundy scores the bout
46:56116-112 in favor of Konsei Sal. Ron McNair scores the bout 116-112 in favor
47:06of Foster. Mark Lyson scores the bout 115-113 for your winner by split decision.
47:15And the new WBC junior lightweight champion of the world
47:24Robson Obrado Konsei Sal.
47:30No way. No way. That is ridiculous. That is a gift.
