00:00Guys, I feel like I'm looking at my childhood. I feel really emotional speaking to you because this
00:06Those films they had the biggest impact on me
00:13It's crazy, but did
00:16William let me start with you. Did you guys feel an immense amount of pressure going into this final season knowing how much people love it
00:23In the background, I think yes, I think subconsciously there's you know, there's a big amount of pressure, but when you get to work
00:29It's just minute by minute moment by moment and you just block that out. It wasn't a pressure to
00:37Because of what's being expected
00:39I think it's more of the challenge of we had 15 episodes to shoot in five and a half months and the schedule that we
00:45were on and the the pacing of that but we you know when it gets down to doing the these these seasons we just dive in
00:51And put our hearts into it one one beat at a time and you can't think about the result or who's watching or how it's
00:57Received you just play the honesty and the truth of these characters, which are so well written with amazing
01:03Actors and an incredible crew and it's it's the best situation
01:06It doesn't get any better to be an actor an artist in in this environment
01:11So it's it makes it easy the months went by fast. It was a lot of work, but
01:15You know, we're excited that it's behind us and that it the world's getting ready to to go on the ride with us
01:21Are you guys all breathing a sigh of relief as well that you can kind of take it easier as well now?
01:26Like is it a little bit on one hand, but I you know, I want to keep it up
01:31Physically and I've been it's interesting
01:35That back in the day when I was done with martial arts, I was like, oh good
01:40I'm done with martial arts and now at this point in my life. I really
01:46Appreciate, you know the benefits of it both physically mentally and everything else. So
01:52It's gonna be more part of my life
01:54Going forward as I get younger and younger
02:01Yeah, I'm
02:03Continuing to to strive to get better as far as training. I never stop
02:10I'm in the gym and thank God my daughter is really a gym rat
02:15So sometimes you need that motivation to get to the gym
02:19and so she's been my champion as far as getting me there, but I continue to train and
02:26Taekwondo and and in the hopes that we will continue something else
02:37Ralph do you think that's anyone who has ever had more of an impact on a franchise than mr
02:43Miyagi like even into this last season. He is so prominent. Yeah, I'm really thrilled and proud of
02:49that, I mean that was
02:51Day one when this was pitched to me is what is when I spoke back about it. I said I
02:57For my involvement, I really would want to see
03:01Miyagi woven through all stories going forward
03:05Because that was kind of the secret sauce of the karate kid
03:10I mean his that was the soulful magic is what I call it that
03:15that that
03:16Made it so special from the onset
03:19So I love the fact that he's still
03:22His character and his legacy is is woven throughout the series not just for Daniel Russo
03:29But for for chosen to Gucci and for Johnny Lawrence now and and they you know
03:34The younger cast of the show and then this season is a deep dive where Daniel discovers certain things about
03:41Miyagi
03:42That may not be as flattering and may lead him down a kind of darker path of
03:50Misunderstanding or understanding who the whole
03:53person was the guys have done a beautiful job meaning the creators and writers to
03:57to keep that ball up in the air and I think it
04:00It lends itself to the karate kid of it all within the Cobra Kai of it all
04:05It really does like I said, you know
04:07The reason I got so emotional is I grew up watching these films my brother
04:11The reason he did karate is because of you and I'd go and watch that so there is a strong emotional bond to all of this
04:17Yeah, I'm really grateful that you guys kept it going for as long as you have. Thank you. Thank you
04:23Thank you so much guys lovely to speak to
