00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:06the Renaissance Club venue for this week's Genesis Scottish Open. I'm here at the sixth
00:15hole on the golf course, short par three, just in front of the clubhouse. And this year
00:23they've created a stadium-style arena. There's grandstands all down one side, wrapping round
00:33the back of the green, and then back to the clubhouse. It's a smashing little hole, this.
00:38In an hour or so, Jordan Spieth was just out with a few clubs in a putter with his carry,
00:45Michael Greller, and Jordan Spieth had a hole-in-one here. So if you can match that later in the
00:51week, when these grandstands are full, it'll certainly raise a huge roar around the golf
00:59course here, if someone in Jordan Spieth will be trying to emulate that, of course. Another
01:05world-class field here for the Rolex Series event, spearheaded, of course, by Rory McIlroy,
01:12the defending champion. He finished birdie-birdie last year to pip Scotland's Bob McIntyre.
01:19McIntyre returns as the RBC Canadian Open champion, landed a magnificent breakthrough
01:26win on the PGA Tour a few weeks ago, and more recently, compatriot Ewan Ferguson won the
01:33BMW International Open in Munich at the weekend. So two Scots going into this event with huge
01:40confidence, and they'll certainly get massive support when they step onto the first tee
01:47for Thursday's opening round. Max Holmhouse here, Jordan Spieth's here, as I've said,
01:53Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, a really cracking field. Xander Shoffley, the PGA champion
01:59and the winner two years ago, he's back here as well. To keep up to date with everything
02:04about the Genesis Scottish Open, buy a Scotsman or log on to Scotsman.com.
