00:00The only Ateneo in Italy entirely dedicated to teaching and research in the field of design disciplines, the University of Juve of Venice,
00:14expands its teaching offer by introducing two new master's degrees and a new course, all lasting two years, for three thematic areas, energy, transportation and planning of the sea.
00:29The aim of the Ateneo is to train experts engineers and planners with a view to the future for the preservation of the environment and of a universal heritage, the sea.
00:40Therefore, for the academic year 2024-2025, one of the innovative master's courses available to students will be sustainable mobility and intelligent connections in marine and coastal environments.
00:55It is a master's course in civil engineering that deals with the issues related to transport and mobility.
01:03So, what we are interested in dealing with is how transport and mobility are linked to dimensions that are not strictly technical
01:13and that concern the construction, the landscape, the large infrastructures and how they relate to each other from a social, technical and environmental point of view.
01:25Compared to traditional master's courses in the sector, there are a number of elements of innovation.
01:32The first is certainly the one from a thematic point of view.
01:36Master's degrees in transport do not deal specifically with coastal and marine areas.
01:41In this sense, it represents an attempt at innovation that is also very interesting from a continental point of view.
01:49Renewable Energy Engineering in Coastal Environments will be the second innovative master's course available to students, which will offer a few occupational gaps.
02:00We will focus a lot on a preparation that keeps together both the engineering part, the chemical part, after the renewable energies,
02:14so related to the machines that produce and convert energy, but also the civil part, the infrastructural part,
02:22in terms of aqueducts and the treatment of water and sewage, and the fluid dynamics part, in terms of the flow of marine currents.
02:33Therefore, the students will find themselves with a large baggage of information and tools ready to guide them in various professional paths.
02:47For example, they will be able to work in municipalities or in large companies in the sector, and also lead research development groups within them.
03:02The coastal and marine space is a new frontier of planning, and for this reason the University of Iowa has created the innovative course
03:12Science and Design for the Planning of Maritime Space.
03:16It is the first master's degree in planning entirely dedicated to this topic.
03:23The course is innovative because it follows an experimental approach that integrates several skills,
03:29territorial, coastal, environmental planning, ecology, geography, landscape architecture, economy and law.
