00:00We have been having a lot of meetings, from last week, Tuesday, where for the first time
00:07we made a breakthrough on the issue of implementing CBA.
00:14I must say that through the week and over the weekend we had to crack figures and numbers
00:23with the union leaders together with the inter-representatives to see how to comply to the retired work
00:29formula that was signed on 8th of May, 2024.
00:35At that point, the number of doctors that could be posted was 552, but then there was
00:44not any criteria that could work.
00:49It's not possible to only post the doctors that graduated through the job process because
00:55the scores aren't enough.
00:57It's not possible to post doctors who went through the Module 2 program.
01:02It's not possible to post doctors based on the cohort of completion.
01:06For those who have stayed for one and a half years, for those who have stayed for two years,
01:11for those who have stayed for one year, there was not any working mechanisms that can allow
01:16for batch posting of doctors or the cohort posting.
01:22And we went out for the opinion to sort the issue of part of the doctors and then come
01:29back here again 30 days later to start the same process.
01:33It's tiring and it's exhausting.
01:36And therefore yesterday we spent over 10 hours trying to crack out and to see mechanisms
01:45to make sure that all the interns are posted today, that we're going to have a commitment
01:51and a plan so that within this month all the interns will be at their places of work.
01:58We're going to have a meeting from noon.
02:02And I must say, unfortunately, that meeting has not taken place today.
02:09And therefore we are where we were yesterday or we don't know the progress today.
02:16And partly from the meetings, from the engagement I was having upstairs, was that it's impossible
02:23to have progress on these engagements if we are both demonstrating and sitting.
02:29So probably that's one reason that we're being given.
02:34On the other side, we are being told to proceed and do the demonstrations and the vigils because
02:43after that day we can have engagements.
02:45So here today, doctors, we're at a point that we have to strategize and get things done.
02:53I know we have an impasse, but our anger, our frustration, our disillusionment is not
03:03the solution.
03:05We must know and decide to take the next possible action that is possible to solve this matter
03:11within the next hours.
03:13And as MPDU, we are retreating to our sitting with the National University Council leadership
03:21to discuss the mechanisms to which we can employ to resolve this matter once and for all.
