Do Brits love a bargain?
Transcript
00:00According to data from iDLaw, it's been reported that Brits continue to splurge on small luxuries
00:05like cosmetics, clothing and sweet treats, even despite the cost of living crisis.
00:10Furthermore, new research from Legal & General found that many Brits are still prioritising
00:15family holidays amidst rising costs and financial pressure.
00:19Now, Amazon Prime Day falls on the 16th and 17th July.
00:24As major retailers continue to promise significant discounts, do we Brits trust these deals and
00:29do we still love a bargain?
00:31Well, research by Acqua found that as many as two-thirds of Brits say they do feel some
00:36sort of pressure to spend more than planned, especially when they're in social situations.
00:41In fact, some of the top reasons for Britain overspending reportedly included the want
00:47to show off and the fear of missing out.
00:50Of those who set aside a specific amount for socialising, 9 in 10 tend to exceed these
00:55budgets monthly.
00:56And if that wasn't enough, researchers found that a quarter of Brits have admitted
01:00that they compete against friends for bargains.
01:03So what do you think?
