00:00Japan has an answer to the call of Filipinos to recognize and pay the Filipino comfort women who were victims of the abuse during World War II.
00:13We fully recognize the dignity and honor of those former comfort women who were injured.
00:21And to that, the government of Japan has been extending, expressing apologies and deep remorse for those actions during the war.
00:36According to Deputy Press Secretary Kaneko Mariko of the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
00:41they have long been asking for forgiveness for what happened during World War II.
00:46The reparation of the victims of the war has been arranged through the San Francisco Peace Treaty of 1951.
00:55According to Senator Arisa Ontiveros, there are still 18 former Filipino comfort women who are still alive.
01:02Hopefully, this is still the administration's promise to give them help and justice.
