00:00listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said, and after a holistic
00:06appraisal of the performance of my cabinet and its achievements and
00:12challenges, I have today, in line with the powers given to me by article 1521
00:23and 1525B of the Constitution and sections 12 of the Office of the
00:31Attorney General's Act, decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the
00:38Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya, of the Cabinet
00:43of Kenya, except the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign
00:48Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, and of course the Office of the Deputy President
00:55is not affected in any way. I will immediately engage in extensive
01:04consultations across different sectors and political formations and other
01:10Kenyans, both in public and private, with the aim of setting up a broad-based
01:22government that will assist me in accelerating and expediting the necessary,
01:28urgent, and irreversible implementation of the program that we have, including
01:37other radical measures and programs to deal with a burden of debt, to explore
01:46raising domestic resources and revenues, expanding job opportunities, eliminating
01:56wastage under necessary duplication over multiplicity of government agencies, and
02:03slaying the dragon of corruption, consequently making the government of
02:12Kenya lean, inexpensive, effective, and efficient. During this process, the
02:24operations of government will continue uninterrupted under the guidance of
02:31principal secretaries and other relevant officials. I will be announcing additional
02:41measures and steps in due course.
