Could the Sunday Ticket lawsuit prevent Dak, Tua & Purdy from cashing in?

Shan & RJ go through several NFL overreactions or not, including the idea that the recent Sunday Ticket lawsuit that will cost the NFL $4 billion dollars will shrink the salary cap and cost quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy a huge payday, as well as the idea that Dak Prescott will play for a different team in 2025.

00:00and it's not too. Yeah, that's
00:20right. That's right. Alright,
00:21NFL overreactions for the off
00:22season. I know we need to get
00:23to this uh because I was
00:25actually wondering, I saw uh I
00:27saw a guy Chris Kufman. You
00:29know, I've never heard of him.
00:30He used to be an NFL network.
00:31I guarantee you, I've never
00:32heard of a guy whose last name
00:33is Kufman. CK Parrot on
00:35Twitter. He's actually he's a
00:36he's a great NFL follow and he
00:40just is it Kaufman and you're
00:41just saying Kufman KOUFFMA. I
00:45guess. Yeah. I don't know.
00:46Chris Kufman sounds like
00:47sounds like somebody who would
00:49star alongside Emily Willis.
00:50It's just like that margarita
00:51story from earlier in the week.
00:52You know, sometimes you just
00:53gotta Kufman uh the NFL Sunday
00:56ticket ruling that happened on
00:58the 27th, right? So, you have
01:00the the NFL Sunday ticket and
01:03uh the NFL is now going to have
01:05to like come out of pocket 4
01:08billion. 4 billion. No, I
01:10thought it was I thought it was
01:11tripled or yeah, it's tripled
01:12because it's uh because it's an
01:13antitrust. Yeah. 12 billion.
01:15Yeah. Okay. So, so I had Sunday
01:17ticket for like a year. So,
01:18I'm going to get some money.
01:19Sean's had it every year. So,
01:20he's Sean's probably going to
01:21make a million bucks off this.
01:22I hope so. I hope he does.
01:24Then, he'll be taking forever
01:25paternity leave after that. I
01:26would imagine. Sean. Yeah, Sean
01:27will make a million bucks off
01:28this and then what he'll he'll
01:29only have probably 20 years left
01:30on his house payment after he
01:32drops that million on it. The
01:34the ramifications though of this
01:36could bring salary caps down
01:38like the NFL is not just losing
01:3912 billion dollars and still
01:41conducting business as usual.
01:42We've seen the way. Oh yeah.
01:44COVID happens. We're losing
01:45money. Okay, then everybody's
01:47losing money. We're not just
01:48going to lose money at the top
01:49and everybody continues to eat
01:50the same way and so now you're
01:53wondering, okay, with salary
01:54caps coming down, these big
01:56money quarterback contracts,
01:57Dak is the NFL now going to
01:59have to switch up a little bit
02:01like the ramifications of
02:02dollars not coming in the same
02:04way. Now, oh no, we're salary
02:07caps down. Quarterbacks can't
02:08get paid as much. So, Trevor
02:10Lawrence and Jared Goff and some
02:12of these quarterbacks that just
02:13got the bag, they got in at the
02:15nick of time before this ruling
02:16came down. If you're a Dak
02:18Prescott, if you're a Tua or
02:20maybe I guess a Brock Purdy, are
02:22you now late to the party and
02:24you just you just drew the the
02:26the bad luck straw with the
02:27timing of it because for the
02:29next couple of years, the the
02:31dollar amounts might change.
02:32What if what if Jerry knew all
02:34along that they were going to
02:35lose this thing and that's what
02:36he was waiting for with all
02:37these signings because he knows
02:39it's not the dollar amount.
02:40It's the the agents have been
02:42saying percentage of the cap
02:44not dollar amount and if the
02:45cap does if the cap stays
02:46stagnant or goes down, it
02:48doesn't go up. Would he could
02:51we at that point defend him and
02:53justify his course of action?
02:55It's a good question. Let me
02:56see here. So, I'm curious how
02:59much revenue did the NFL lose
03:02during COVID because that'll
03:05tell you NFL teams lost almost
03:084 billion in revenue due to
03:10coronavirus pandemic according
03:11to CBS News. So, yeah, I don't
03:14know if that's a legit 12
03:15billion. That's triple the
03:18pandemic but also like how does
03:19that have to be paid out? How
03:21does it because the pandemic
03:22they lose that immediately.
03:23It's just gone. It's not in
03:24their right anymore. Does the
03:25NFL? I mean, I'm an idiot. Is
03:28that insured? Uh very
03:31possibly. I have no idea,
03:32right? Are they are they
03:33protected against legal fights?
03:35II don't know how that works.
03:37Um and then of course like you
03:40know, do they have to pay it
03:41off all at once in a lump sum
03:42or is it installments over
03:44years because if they got to
03:46pay 12 billion out at once,
03:48we're going to see a 70
03:50million-dollar cap for one
03:52year. I mean, it'll be tight
03:53for a year. Uh and let it be
03:55a couple years. No, because I
03:57mean, generally, like we had
03:58the we had the the first year
03:59after COVID was tight and then
04:01you saw a huge
